A typical 80s movie intro! Driving through city different shots as film starts! Who gets wat I mean? Intro credits and stuff... Sum hobo in the park... lady walking.... cars driving... kids in park.... Sum random cat running by... Police officer... Walk, Dont walk... Taxis going by... City scape shot... camera rises to sky....... FILM TITLE appears...lol Classic!
My favorite song on the Live in L.A. album...these guys are so talented, timeless and so very unique. If we all had a soundrack of them running through our heads 24/7, we'd be much happier people.
First got turned on to these guys 10 years ago - the best "drivin through the night" music ever- grinding guitar, horns, percussion - perfect match of rock/fussion/funk. God Bless You Guys - you bring joy through music.
Saw them in Detroit in early 90s. Incredible band...cant say enough. I went home with their setlist for the night. Still have it framed. Love these guys...
Excellent post of this fine group, leading off with Russ Freeman, and the brilliant Jeff Kashiwa, so sad he isn't with them anymore, he was a staple to the group....glad he is having a fine career of his own though...Russ frickin rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cant remember if I already commented on this vid, so I'll do it again anyway. The Rippingtons Live in LA is one of my all time favourite albums. It is perfect, as is this song. Normally I listen to melodic metal and rock but when I fancy a change of pace or mood, this is just the medicine.
David MacDougal I was there too Dave....outside free event sponsored by the smooth jazz radio station of the day.....around Copley Square I think. I was hooked on these guys for a long while...still have their "cassettes"
Next to the supergroup that russ put together for the first album called moonlighting this was my favorite version of the band with jeff kashiwa on reeds and mark portman on keyboards.
A high pressure ridge centered over the Plains will keep temperatures in the mid-90's and bring moisture into lower Mississippi basin through Tuesday .
It was released on VHS, but it seems like they only made a limited number of copies for that version Kind of a shame it never got re-issued, considering it's almost impossible to find a copy now
I can listen to these guys all day, everyday...
Damn straight, Chuck.
