This is the best cover youtube has to offer. More impressive is the fact that YOU played every instrument damn near spot on when we talk about the studio version. Vocals on point bro.
@Quaker763 unless you're joking, you need ear replacements. The guitars and drums are OK but if you really thought this was Chino, you need to get your hearing checked 😊
After trying to emulate this album for months and not being able to get it "just right," I realized Abe drags the beat to *just* the point of being off-tempo.
This is just as beautiful as it is sad. There are some people who are so gifted at music, but just can't find a band. If this guy met 2 more people that were as gifted and committed as himself, there would most likely be a kindred super group. Maybe some just get the joy out of playing obviously, but, I feel anyone who is good at all but, never really got much of a scene to share and kick it and respect and be respected by other people, could really understand where I come from as I say that, watching this in total grimace.
I feel what your saying completely right now. I live in an area where not many musicians circulate, and I don’t know where I could find them. I’d love to be to able to find fellow musicians to form a band with, but I wouldn’t know where to even start, and that makes me feel like I’m wasting my time only playing and writing by myself.
Man I feel your pain. I’ve been playing drums for 5 years and am learning piano and have attended some music programs where I attempted to make friends who I could jam with in the future, but I never could and none of my current friends have the interest in music that I do.
Have any of you tried looking for people to play with on the internet? Its like a cork board at guitar center, but more people can see it. Live jamming is cool, but I am currently making tunes with people in 2 different states than me. It takes a bit of understanding of how to transfer the files, but otherwise we are still "recording together"
Craigslist is a great resource for finding jam partners. Also try local music shops, many times they have a bulletin for such info. There are probably 10 musicians in walking distance of you down to jam
Yeah I'm a drummer from East Texas and Abe is one of my favorites! I played in a few bands but never found anything serious. We all started getting married and having kids in our early 20's and the band just fell apart. Had so much fun making music, although they had already wrote most of the songs before I came in, I kinda replaced their drummer but I made it my own and helped them add to it. After that I just quit trying to find talented musicians.
I have been listening to and playing music since I was 13 years of age. At the decent age of 42 I can wholeheartedly say I have never heard or seen somebody replicate music as accurately as Dramaface. It's a rare talent, particularly as this has been done by ear. Truly refreshing to see. It kinda feels like spotting something this good on UA-cam has made the crappy year worthwhile.
Johnathon Wheeler i started reading comments shortly after starting the video, but when I first started it I thought, “jeeze they all have the same hair. “ now I wonder why 🤣
I replayed and that's a big deal when you hear it from me. Take my words for it. The best coverof this song I've heard on UA-cam. And this snare sound, just wow! 🤘
OK, first of all, thank you very much for this & thank you very much for this. Second of all, thank you SO much for copying the subtle vocal details of the original, e.g. @ 1:46 when you whisper the cool wordage, and ESPECIALLY my overall favorite detail @ 2:35 where in the original song, instead of screaming the usual "shove it", the lyric comes out as "shaaaaov"-just a wild scream. Every time I blast this song in my car or anywhere, THAT is the climactic part of the song that I'm working my way toward, and the fact that you caught & duplicated that detail makes me really like you, Boss.
Watched this almost all the way through before *finally* realizing that it's the same guy playing all the parts! ("Clone cover," now I get it.) Great cover, and great job on the visual FX.
This cover is, I would say, "spot on". I've seen other bands who have lazy bassists who don't play it right. Not to mention some other lazy drummers who don't even care to rehearse or practice those "ghost parts" (if that's the right way to say it) but this cover deserves a lot of views.
So crazy cus just last night I was feeling discouraged no one wants to play deftones songs with me so why not do it all myself?? And then I find this 🙌💛👏👏👏
Your drumming is fkn tight bro. I find myself coming back to this every day. A lot of people don't know timing is everything in metal and yours is perfect. You should do Diamond Eyes 💫 or really flex those pipes and do some Shinedown. Very good content.
WOW killer cover of this song! I actually got booted from the library for playing it too loud. I would have played it even louder but the volume only goes to 10. lol :-)
An amazing cover and note perfect! So great to see this guy doing all of that on his own. Truly awesome! Saw Deftones play this in London in May 2017 and it’s one of the best things I’ve seen live and my top 5 favourite gigs too 😊
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your scream during the chorus. The high pitch of the scream reminds me of how Mike Patton would do such screams. Good god damn job dude!
This is sooooooooo GOOD!!! Man this is one of the most spot on covers I’ve ever heard.. and I been in the music life a long time now. 39 years to be exact 😂
No way! I’ve been listening to dimphonic for a little while now and I came back to this video after a year and find out you’re in the band! That’s awesome man keep up the good work
Deftones is hard to cover and you did amazing. Personally I prefer something that keeps true the song, like this, but I have a few I like that the person changed it up completely. You sound a lot like him!
Seeing you headbang in sync with... yourself with the exact same body language is... well, eerie. Aside from that this is just perfect, you sir, nailed it!
fantastic cover. this is one of my favorite Deftones songs. i remember reading about this album in Guitar World before it came out. the reviewer said it just absolutely melted his ears... that it was so heavy. Around the Fur was one of my fav album purchases of all time.
you have what it takes to be famous , You are already well on your way. I am behind you 100% Thank you for your music, Love your Tool clone covers as well.
Kid's so good and sounds so spot on he has to watch out for copyright claims..😬 Edit: Just saw on his channel that his Tool "Stinkfist" Clone cover actually did get taken down by UA-cam for a bit cuz it sounded EXACTLY like the original..👌 You'd be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't go check out that one btw..It's back up..🤟
This is dope, best deftones cover I have heard with the sound just right across the board. Deftones are my favorite band and I think one of the hardest to do justice to in a cover but you killed it. Keep jamming it out!
Clone covers like this are the best way to learn your DAW if you’re just starting out...learning how to dial in a sound is invaluable. Dude you nailed it. Talented
A lot of comments are asking to hear original material. Dimphonic - ua-cam.com/video/oG5xOZI0_i0/v-deo.html
Holy shit that was good👍
Let them hear so they can hear how spot on this is and vocally giving chino a run for it... He better watch out. Thanks for the work!
Enjoy it, but I bet your neighbors were tired after the third time🤣
Love the original music. 🤗
This is the best cover youtube has to offer. More impressive is the fact that YOU played every instrument damn near spot on when we talk about the studio version. Vocals on point bro.
If this band breaks up there’s no hope for any bands out there.
It's one guy lol
AuRiFeX r/woosh
@@hamad1446 do you even know what woosh means and btw r/ihavereddit
Its one guy i almost missed it too.. he is amazing
@@auri8810 he said woosh because the joke is that since its one dude the band wouldn't break up......you're a whole circus
It's kinda scary how spot on the cover really is.
This was in an auto play UA-cam playlist and I legit thought it was the actual song...
@Quaker763 unless you're joking, you need ear replacements. The guitars and drums are OK but if you really thought this was Chino, you need to get your hearing checked 😊
I mean, you nailed the snare sound. That’s the bar for me.
It´s not just the snare.... his overall sound is honestly better then the original (and I love the original).
After trying to emulate this album for months and not being able to get it "just right," I realized Abe drags the beat to *just* the point of being off-tempo.
The kick. That’s the bar.
First thing I noticed. A Snare tone for a generation. Totally nailed it
Rob In totally disagree , the only thing that bothers me is the drums honestly .
The best my own summer cover i've heard.
Holds true to the original.
Caio M. hear the cover from Atreyu
ok
Check our cover and get back to us ;)
@@PEASANTTOAKING I did, I truly think its better than the original. Great fucking job
Bro no one is talking about those high screams. Holy shit man. So goood
I was looking for this comment. Bro nailed it
The drum fill at 0:43 is completely correct....Someone finally got it right!! Good job guys!
It's just one guy tho, lol.
This is truly amazing work.
"guys"
He hit it right on the money!
@@Chyno320 holy shit, i've been listening to this cover for years, i didn't realise that theres just one guy! wow!
Definitely did some homework on that one

Plot twist: They're actually quadruplets
M Night? Is that you?
You sir, are talented as fuck.
so hard to cover Deftones and this dude did it by himself, what a guy
Without question the best My Own Summer cover out there
Thank you much appreciated 🙏
Playing all the instruments is hard enough, but to know how to edit video and mix everything to this level is insane. Talent through the roof!
Deftones would be happy with what you've done here!
dude every single instrument was played so well. and those screams were so good gahddamn
This is the best cover I’ve heard of ANY song
I think your band mates might be copying your style....
Caesar E.J.W. Lol
It's mandatory to look this way in this band, they have no choice, it's in the contract.
@@muzakdeep
HA! Yep
Glad I'm not the only one who noticed lol
👏
This needs more views
100k+ views AT LEAST
I feel great knowing there's a raw take of some guy in a room just screeching the chorus to himself without any music
It literally doesn’t get any better than this

Clone cover?!?! you've to be kidding me you're amazing!!
I know right. I thought it was Chino when I heard this. He sounds just like him.
1:23 onwards :-)
Hands down the best cover on UA-cam. I’ve seen this video so many times and it never disappoints.
lol watched this a bunch of times and just realized its the same guy HAHAHHAHA

The "shaaaov" is actually [shove it] aside. That's what they're singing here as well.
the cool wordage is “in my own summer” i didn’t even know that until today
Someone needs to sign this guy! He's his own band!
Watched this almost all the way through before *finally* realizing that it's the same guy playing all the parts! ("Clone cover," now I get it.) Great cover, and great job on the visual FX.
This is unbelievable what I'm watching and listening to...Deftones is what I grew up on...I am in awe of the talent here...I have no more words...
Awesome dude, we need more clone covers.
Holy crap dude. You covered that to an absolute T. Sooo accurate on EVERY level. You played that better than deftones can these days. Bravo

Woah, as a bassist, it makes me ashamed to know theres lazy bassists out there on and already p easy instrument.
Drummers refer to them as "ghost notes"
okay my algorithm sucks, how is it showing me this gem only now? i mean props, this SLAPS

WOW killer cover of this song! I actually got booted from the library for playing it too loud. I would have played it even louder but the volume only goes to 10. lol :-)
lol good shit bro.
vocals? killed it. drumming ? killed it. bass? killed it. guitar? KILLED IT
The off-key vocals, the almost-drunk drumming, the guitar tone, you're very good at by-ear transcribing and catching the style man!
😂😂
i love watching these and synching them up with the original song and listening to both at the same time
Best cover of this song I've seen
An amazing cover and note perfect! So great to see this guy doing all of that on his own. Truly awesome!
Saw Deftones play this in London in May 2017 and it’s one of the best things I’ve seen live and my top 5 favourite gigs too 😊
Literally His (My) Own Summer !
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your scream during the chorus. The high pitch of the scream reminds me of how Mike Patton would do such screams. Good god damn job dude!
wtff (head explodes). Love how the "Bass you" is also the one doing the backup vocals, its that accurate.
One of the best deftones covers I've seen. Good job!
How does this sound so spot on?
It's like you used their engineer, wow. 🙏
This cover and a fresh cup of coffee is a great way to start the day. Rock-n-roll!
Fair winds and following seas to all.
Fuckin heavy. Incredible one-man cover. Tight on every instrument and those vocals are spot on. Good stuff.
What he said
The bass sounds so damn good. The drums too.
Nice band, love all of its members!

THOSE GHOST NOTES ON THE SNARE 🤤
Oh my god!!! I love your scream!! So brutal!
It's freaky how much you sound just like Chino. It literally is a clone cover. No joke. Perfect cover and I was blown away.
I have respect for this
It rarely happens, but this cover sounds stronger than the original. Raw, powerfull, hard. Great played.
man it sounds just like the original this is so good man really damn
A+ for the detail of the bassist doing the screaming bits like Chi did. Respect.
Damn that's a good mix!! Your sounds are gorgeous. That kick drum!!!
I love the attention to detail.
best cover on youtube. dope.
nailed that snare tone!
I love how you screamed shove it as the bass player just like chi cheng did
This is still the greatest cover known to man... 6 years later.
You’re covering my favorite bands 💖😭
It's definitely all the little things that make this great. The details. Especially the hi hat stomp at the end before everyone comes back in.
Trent Reznor's recording sessions. ha All jokes aside, you're a #BEAST
Seeing you headbang in sync with... yourself with the exact same body language is... well, eerie. Aside from that this is just perfect, you sir, nailed it!

Yeeeeeeeees !!!!!! I saw Deftones live 1998 in D.C. and y'all doing it bruh. Chino would be proud dude
Wow, you must've have train a lot to cast your shadow clone. Your chi level should be legendary.
best cover of my own summer
