Also it’s very reminiscent of “change” and a liiiiitle bit of “Minerva” This was definitely a real good cover, would love to hear some more deftones style covers.
Much better than I expected. I agree that other songs could be made better by adopting Deftones "style". This is what pisses me off. Imitation is the better part of flattery. Would have been nice to see some of the other musicians that contributed to this rendition however... What a creep!
There is a seething, smouldering energy in it that is fucking PERFECT for the lyrical content of this song. This is totally a Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt scenario here. Deftones deserves this song the most. That's where we're at--
I'm loving this version! Thank you for uploading it today. My friend passed away 3 years ago today and this was his go to song at Karaoke! Rest in Peace Nicky ♥️
As a major deftones fan, I've gotta say: you got everything down to the rasp, whispers in the end and vacant stare of Chino. The instrumentals were great, and the screams gave me chills man. Haven't felt something in a song like that for almost a year i think. Really good fucking job
Deftones partially reminds me of TON because it has an underlying sort of sensual, almost sexual feel that really pulls you in, you can feel every word like a wicked caress

This is actually better than the original. It has more emotion and a better sound. I'm shocked because usually the original is always better, but in this case no. This is actually beautiful. The best cover i ever heard, good job and thank you for putting this masterpiece on spotify.
Anthony puts so much passion into these covers, to the point you can almost see and hear pain, just as you do with deftones and soundgarden. Extremely well done, i was left incredibly impressed with this
you are by far the most talented person on here, your ability to sing in any style is one to be admired and envied. i have been subbed for several years now and you have never disappointed me, i cant wait to see the next one.
Not even kidding, this is the best cover of Creep I’ve ever heard. Like dude there are soooo many covers in all sorts of different styles and genres. But of all the ones I’ve heard, I feel like this one still captures the energy of the song while it still being something entirely different. This deeply pleases me as a Radiohead and Deftones fan lol
Considering the first single from OHMS has just released, you could not have timed this better! I was mesmerized the whole way thru, also late at night (4:17am) in a darkened room with my headphones on with you full screen staring into my eyes was quite the journey. Great subtle edit/effects with the breathing etc, really added to it. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Songs I'd love to hear covered by deftones that I could hear Chino singing that fits their tone. 1. Coldplay - In my place 2. Nirvana - Big long now 3. Alanis Morissette - Uninvited Just my wishful thinking though, I'd definitely buy this guys whole album if he did a whole album of covers in the style of deftones.
Well Chino absolutely hates Coldplay so I don't see that one happening. When asked in an interview what band he really doesn't like he said every time he puts on Coldplay it doesn't make him feel anything, at all. Based tbh. Big long now would be so sick though.
That seamless lead out of the chorus @ 4:13 was the most Deftones thing I've ever heard not played by the band themselves. Like something right off of White Pony. A Badmotorfinger-era Chris Cornell covering a Radiohead classic entirely drenched in Deftones style, that's some serious love to the 90s right there.
I would love to hear them actually cover this now... mind blowing job lad! If I found this on the limewire back in the 90's I probably would have belived it was an actual cover hook line and sinker lol
i've come back to this version to say that i've gone full deep dive into the deftones about a week ago and i truly appreciate this video so much more right now. it's so good.
Beautifully done Anthony, literally gave me chills when you hit that scream at the end. I felt the emotion that that song was meant to have. Placed first in my two favorite covers. In This Moment's version was good but you killed it. Thanks for that.
You nailed the fx. Chino always had a unique amount on compression, and reverb on his vocals during their time with Terry Date. You capture his vocal tone during the Maverick era beautifully. Bravo.

@@jakefoster5611 awesome dude, sadly in the Netherlands there are barely any festivals and basically only one with actual good music. While in France for example they have festivals that feature like 20 different good bands in 3 days, bands like deep purple, Deftones, system of a down, korn, gojira, offspring, suicidal tendencies, Judas priest and Devin townsend.... Netherlands just kinda sucks I guess :/
I subscribed to this channel of yours on all of my social media because of this video of yours. The way you staring into my soul, and the way I look at your mustache.
Damn, it's like I am talking to a higher being
I'm a huge Deftones fan and that good sir, did them serious justice, that was sick af, really hope you do more in the style of Deftones!
Uhm…
100% agreed.
This bizarre dude is Prince with Cornell's hair and Chino's voice....
Great analysis.
He actually Has Cornell's voice too. He is the living incarnation of Chris Cornell, Check out RoomieOfficial's response to TSS's challenge to him (the video is called "He insulted my voice!" When he does the chris cornell(audioslave) impression, Roomie whom is very very good at hearing key differences in tone and pitch just gushed over him, even though he was supposed to be "angry" cause of the playful challenge they were all doing lol
Brooooo 🔥 💯
“This bizarre dude” 😂😂
It’s twice as funny because I know exactly where you’re coming from haha
@@Syclone0044 Asi es compadre. Soy Colombiano y digo algunas palabras en ingles. Tienes algun problema con eso? Por que te causa tanta gracia?
I had to listen all the way through so I wouldn’t be too biased lol. You NAILED that perfectly from breathy/dreamy vocals, the scream, honestly if I’d have never heard Radiohead I’d have thought this was deftones’ own song. Also it’s very reminiscent of “change” and a liiiiitle bit of “Minerva” This was definitely a real good cover, would love to hear some more deftones style covers.
if you knew literally every other radiohead song you'd still think this is a deftones song
Something too that helped is that the vocal lines are very Pink Maggit, very ethereal and "end of album" sounding. :)
Much better than I expected. I agree that other songs could be made better by adopting Deftones "style". This is what pisses me off. Imitation is the better part of flattery. Would have been nice to see some of the other musicians that contributed to this rendition however... What a creep!
Deftones x Björk
Wasn't too different from the original
This version has such a desperate struggle and eerie feeling surrounding it. Absolutely beautiful stuff.
I can see this being used in the background of a movie as a guy dresses up in his crushes stolen clothes or something 😂
There is a seething, smouldering energy in it that is fucking PERFECT for the lyrical content of this song.
This is totally a Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt scenario here.
Deftones deserves this song the most.
That's where we're at--
I hear pure anguish in the climax of the song. Really powerful.
Full disclosure, I am a massive Deftones fan.
The original is an iconic masterpiece in itself.
What you've done here is quite remarkable.
I'm loving this version!
Thank you for uploading it today. My friend passed away 3 years ago today and this was his go to song at Karaoke!
Rest in Peace Nicky ♥️
that chord progression so good
I'd pay you to cover an entire album worth of songs in deftones style
Well, hire him! xD
this is a perfect song for deftones energy honestly, it just makes the song more dark and brooding
Original style: sad song
Deftones style: thriller movie soundtrack style
*runs straight to the drawing board* 🏃🏻
Yes
I’ll be honest. This gave me chills! I’m at a loss for words!!! Like wowwww 😍😍 you should definitely do more like this! You nailed it! 😮
In a sea of creep covers, this one stands out. That’s quite an achievement in and of itself.
It’s like a mix of “Change” and “Pink Maggit”
Nailed it!
With a vocal fry from hexagram or when girls telephone boys or something
Omg I'm old now
Omg yes
Holy shit! The screams at the end gave me chills! Well done, Anthony! Just heard your Zombie cover as well, you should start a series of Deftones covers if you aren’t already doing! Thank you for these gems!
We’re going to need this on Apple Music and Spotify, mate. honestly best cover I’ve heard of Creep. Hands down.
He can't. Copyright issues
I might agree with you, if I had not heard the Post Modern Jukebox version with Haley Reinhart
Agreed. Gonna wear this video out.
it's on spotify!
As a deftones mega fans, I approved this performance..
Like wise!
I 3rd this motion.
The same...👍❤️
Amén
A Deftones Mega fan? You must be new.
I would love to see him do The Red by Chevelle in a variety of styles.
This
I'd be happy just seeing him do a Chevelle style on a song
Fuck yes, Chevelle is a great band
Chevelle in the style of deftones 🤔🤔
Holy shit, i was thinking about this song right now!!
I got chills this is absolutely beautiful you did an amazing job
Deftones is my favorite band. Creep was one of the first songs that really hit me different. Just timeless.
?? Creep isn’t by Deftones
@@awesomesauce119 Yes I know it's from Radiohead but I listen to both bands ;)
@@awesomesauce119 that's the joke
Around The Fur is a brilliant album.
Lol ..u troll u
Deftones was literally the only choice for this. AMAZING
Ok cat lady Amanda.🙄
That's the most rock'n'roll mustache that has ever been rocked. Also great singing, love your videos.
My man did my favorite song in the style of my favorite band ever and I’m mad I didn’t discover this version before. He did the unimaginable, and made a great song even more perfect. Words cannot describe how much I love this. You got a follower forever ❤
This could've easily been a real Deftones cover of Creep. White Pony-era. Awesome work dude!
Man the chino scream is out of this world. I gotta learn that shit, I feel like I could shatter glass
Agreed. Must get on that myself.
The way I do it is just doing a very high cry scream. That’s the closest I can get
Edit: fry
@@kaydenleap2962 thats all it is man, just perfected with studio magic. He can do it every now and again live but mostly high fry and cleaned up on album.
Trick is to literally do it as you hear it. Just give in and let the body go. I been screaming since 12yrs old and all I can say is just fucking go for it. You will eventually figure it out
imagine this dude being on masked singer and performing in a different style on each performance
I got chills when you started screaming at the end. So so good. ❤️🔥
These drums are crisp. Melodies are haunting, and mustache is in full force. Love it
Perfect timing because Deftones are dropping a new single called "Ohms" tomorrow. The record of the same name is dropping on September 25th! Excellent job as always and I love how you used "Pink Maggit" and "Change" as a base!
WAIT NO WAY
Omfg whaaaat!!!!!
Thank you for informing me, holy shit.
I GOTCHU GUYS!
Im so excited for that
This come out today AND deftones is releasing the single "ohms" tomorrow , what a great time to be a deftones fan
They already released it on Spotify mate
@@zegledude "I day ago"
@@proxi9511 didn't it come out on the 19th?
@@zegledude 21st on Spotify
This is actually better than the original. It has more emotion and a better sound. I'm shocked because usually the original is always better, but in this case no. This is actually beautiful. The best cover i ever heard, good job and thank you for putting this masterpiece on spotify.
Anthony puts so much passion into these covers, to the point you can almost see and hear pain, just as you do with deftones and soundgarden. Extremely well done, i was left incredibly impressed with this
soundgarden YES
*Got chills during the scream.*
you are by far the most talented person on here, your ability to sing in any style is one to be admired and envied. i have been subbed for several years now and you have never disappointed me, i cant wait to see the next one.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.
this just was the next on the line after ohms
Next Deftones my own summer in the style of TOOL
OMG yes.
Great idea
Y. E. S.
That would be interesting. Hard to imagine, I’d love too see that clash
I would love to hear that
Songs I'd love to hear covered by deftones that I could hear Chino singing that fits their tone.
1. Coldplay - In my place
2. Nirvana - Big long now
3. Alanis Morissette - Uninvited
Just my wishful thinking though, I'd definitely buy this guys whole album if he did a whole album of covers in the style of deftones.
Big long now would be really interesting for me to hear in this style… it’s an underrated nirvana song imo, very dark vibe
Billy Jean (MJ)!
coldplay paradise when
ooooh big long now would be absolutely EPIC
Well Chino absolutely hates Coldplay so I don't see that one happening. When asked in an interview what band he really doesn't like he said every time he puts on Coldplay it doesn't make him feel anything, at all. Based tbh. Big long now would be so sick though.
never thought youd give me the same chills the day I first heard creep and discovered deftones... thank you very much
That seamless lead out of the chorus @ 4:13 was the most Deftones thing I've ever heard not played by the band themselves. Like something right off of White Pony. A Badmotorfinger-era Chris Cornell covering a Radiohead classic entirely drenched in Deftones style, that's some serious love to the 90s right there.
6 minutes ago, I hadn't watched this video. Coincidentally, I was also slightly more straight.
Hahahahah
Best answer to that LOL 🤣🤣🤣
LOL!
lmao
What were you doing for the remaining 25 seconds after it ended O.O
YESSS HE PUT THIS MASTERPIECE ONTO SPOTIFYY!
I would love to hear them actually cover this now... mind blowing job lad!
If I found this on the limewire back in the 90's I probably would have belived it was an actual cover hook line and sinker lol
this actually sounds just like a Deftones song!! your vocals sound just
like Chino's. well done Anthony!!
This song sounds like it should be on the Queen Of the Damned soundtrack. It has that same vibe.
One of the best damn soundtracks ever. Possibly *the* best.
My favourite soundtrack to this day
Time to go listen to Chester singing System it's been too long thanks.
@@Cobra4811 you've slept too long without it
One of the best!
Even my goosebumps have goosebumps. Jesus christ dude, this is amazing
2 years later and still think this is the best version of this song ever recorded. Bravo Antoine!
The scream "run" gave me goosebumps !!! As did the original, so the bar was pretty high. Well done man !
i've come back to this version to say that i've gone full deep dive into the deftones about a week ago and i truly appreciate this video so much more right now. it's so good.
Funny that you covered this because Deftones is often considered as the Radiohead of Metal, also you killed it!
This is one of those things you didn't know you needed until you find it
Beautifully done Anthony, literally gave me chills when you hit that scream at the end.
Bravo.
the big scream part at the end of the final bridge did not disappoint holy fuck
Adding this to my playlist
Sounds like it could be a bonus track on Saturday Night Wrist
B sides and rarities
white pony for me
The likes are at the funny number, I repeat the funny number. NOBODY ELSE LIKE IT.
I thought the same thing
How could he sing like an angel and look at us with such sad empty eyes? 😭❤️
SKILL.
Because he recorded the vocals before the video
This is a real tribute, not a simple impersonation. "bravo!"
OH, MY, GOD
I FUCKING LOVED THAT DUDE
No joke that was an EXPERIENCE, like my that made my soul transport to a whole different dimension i wasnt even on this earth anymore while listening to that, it was SO GOOD HOLY SHIT
