Nun komm der heiden heiland is the metrical setting of the Gregorian Hymn from the Office of the Hours for December 17-24, Veni Redemptor Gentium, Come, Savior of the Gentiles. This is the first of the three settings of the tune in the Leipzig Chorales of J.S. Bach and is a highly ornate rendering of the melody.
