Thanks for explaining this so clearly. You probably already know that the Bluehost interface has changed again, so the input for the Google site TXT will be different. They use a different format for the time, so you can't type "4 Hours (min)" but you have to use a TTL value like "14400" (which is 4 hours, if you look this up online with a TTL calculator).
@@blogwithben I also noticed this. However, when I enter @, 14400, and TXT record for Google Search Console, I get a message warning me that the Register services "Hosting" configured with my domain will not work if I make this change. Therefore, I abort as I'm not sure exactly what that means and I'm wary of doing something which may take my website down. I tried with a TTL of 2 hours, or 7200, and my verification failed repeatedly. I'm wondering if the URL prefix method may be an option? @attitune Did you encounter anything like this?
@@kitchen_uproar770 I decided to persist with the domain verification method and after multiple attempts (and leaving it for a few days) I was finally able to set a TTL of 2 hours, or 7200. And by some magical alignment of the IT powers that be, that worked. I wish I could tell you exactly why or what, or whether that's even the right method, but my domain has been connected to Search Console since and I haven't had any problems. SO frustrating.
@@kitchen_uproar770 you cant use @ anymore, so you just use your domain. you'll have an existing DNS record which is just your url. copy that and create a new one.

Hi! Thanks for watching! That's a really great question. I personally have both www and non www versions in GSC. As well as http and https. However, I added the "domain option" using blogwithben.com and they all merged to that domain in terms of tracking. Does that answer your question?
@@blogwithben it does, that’s what we’ve done, and we’ve tested it the domain option allows for all to be added painlessly, thank you Ben, from a fellow Ben
Hi! Thanks for watching! You can remove it, but I wouldn't recommend it. Thanks again for watching!
Hi I just had a question if my domain is through namecheap and my site is on hostgator which one do I use to verify through Google search console? Appreciate your time
Thanks for watching! It's wherever you have access to the DNS records. You may need to point the domain back to Namecheap and verify the domain within the DNS records, then point it back at GoDaddy. I had to do that with a client one time, but it worked. :)

Hi Ben, I created a Google Search Console account and made a new property a while ago. I have since changed my DNS records and I don't know where to find the TXT record that pops up when originally creating the property for my domain. Where can I find the TXT record if I've already created the property? Thank you!
Hey! Thanks for using the tutorial. Try these steps. 1. Log into Google Search Console: Go to Google Search Console and log in. 2. Select the Property: In the Search Console dashboard, select the property (domain) you previously created. 3. Go to Settings: In the left-hand menu, you can click on Settings at the bottom. 4. Find Domain Verification Details: - Under Property settings, look for Ownership verification. There, you can see details about their verification method. - Click on HTML verification details (or similar options, depending on the method used). This will often bring up the TXT record Google provided originally. 5. Copy the TXT Record: You can copy this record and update it in you new DNS settings. If you're still having trouble, you might consider re-verifying the property, which will give you a new TXT record. This can be especially helpful if the DNS provider change caused any issues with previous verification.
