The bot problem ties into the GDKP issue and RMT and all of that are interwoven. GDKP would be fine if it was just players using money they grinded or farmed out but we got people setting bidding minimums of large amounts and taking % cuts for just doin a group etc. More bots is more money flooded into the economy which lowers the cost of some materials but rocket boosts the price of stuff like mandatory consumables and BOE blues(or raid drops), which incentivizes Gold buying, which in turn incentivizes bots and farmers and the circle of life continues.
You can ban bots but you can never get rid of all of them ever. They have been banning bot, but they could probably put more resources into it. GDKPs incentives gold buying so this is a real good way to help mitigate in an area where the problem is seemingly endless.

I think what made classic and what’s making SOD so successful is not that vanilla was or is better than current retail. I think what blizzard did that most people hate but don’t even realize it’s the reason is they over complicated everything. You hit the nail on the head with the professions aspect in this video. Nowadays with the stupid crafting work bench for crafting orders, 1-4 star and diamond level crafted items etc, it’s just all way too damn complicated for the average person to grasp. The original “get this ore and wood and craft this sword” is the best system. It was simple, Blizz needs to simplify the game again.
The worst part about Dragonflight (IN MY OPINION) was the changes to professions. I'm SO glad Blizzard hasn't tried anything weird with them in SoD but made them classic but better
The biggest reason why I am still for GDKP is I know at least half the raid is Gigachads. I am tired of joining a "Guild run only need 1 DPS" and I am doing double the damage of the next highest dps in the raid. I understand GDKPs also prey on people who are bad at the game but I know the raid I join will not wipe or even struggle at any portion. While GDKPs are a gamble at if you will get loot or not, a traditional MS>OS is a gamble of competency. If lockouts were boss specific (i.e. I could re-enter a different raid after killing the 1st 2 bosses and just not get loot) I wouldn't mind leaving bad groups. "A rising tide lifts all ships" yet some ships aren't seaworthy.
What do you mean profession quests? it was just aimless walking back and forth and only leatherworking was the true useful item since the others were replaced with tier sets
No. In fact, it will feel better when you get to 25+. Everyone rolling with full bfd gear going into next phase. Are going to find they have no gear upgrades for a long time. As the bfd gear is overtuned as hell. Especially caster gear. Which has spellpower on it equivalent to lvl50+ dungeons (just lower base stats). I intentionally stopped playing and avoided gearing out in bfd. So my gear doesn't trivialize other dungeons and content. But people will still be running bfd post-25. For the weekly quest and world buff for other content. As well as snagging overtuned gear as they continue to level. So, you'll still get to run that. If that's part of your concern.
Banning GDKP is a huge W Blizzard. Banning all the bots, gold buyers and sellers would address the real problem, but dealing with it at the GDKP level removes a HUGE incentive to buy a ton of gold.
I’m just gonna put this here, Season of Discovery allows for a future which you might be able to do a quest to become a Death Knight when Naxx comes around. 🤷🏼♂️
GDKP TLDR: The extreme high end GDKPs both create demand for buying gold and creates a smoke screen of large quantity gold transactions. There are mercenaries and GDKP organizers who indirectly benefit from RMT'd gold who are mad, unjustly so. There are ethical GDKP groups who have very small pots and prices well out of RMT range that are collateral damage.
i think that getting rid of GDKP is good for the social fabric of the game. GDKP is often seen as an alternative to things like joining a guild, and i think it's a good thing to promote just playing together instead of purchasing cooperation.
The problem with botting is it's a cat and mouse issue. Additionally, from a SW perspective Blizzard can probably add some sort of mechanism to the game that severely impacts botters and removes them from the game, but perhaps it comes at a cost where things become more resource intensive on client side, server side or both and can impact gameplay severely. It's not an easy fix IMHO.
regarding the GDKP situation. gold buyers will outbid normal players by a large amount so the most reliable way to get gear in GDKP is by buying gold. Since all the gold is distributed among all the other non gold buyers this sort of hyper inflates a servers economy. Bots farming gold create way too much gold for a normal economy and gold buyers sort of white wash that gold into among all the other players and before you know it gold is worth so little that pots are selling for 10 gold a piece. The real issue here are the bots farming gold and the people buying it. Blizzard is reducing 1 of the main reasons to buy gold. (you can still buy BOE items from the auction house so this wont completely remove that demand)
GDKP and the botting problem (to RMT) is directly connected to each other. Most of the gkpd'ers buy gold for real money to then invest into gear. Of course there are few people benefitting of this to make gold. I'm sure there are many players making their gold via AH flipping and then participating in gdkp runs, for those this change hurts. But overall - for the game - i think its better to ban gdkp, to make it less appealing for botters to farm gold (on sod).
Dude the reward is the gear and Items. Plus they are making powerful epics on every profession. Plus buffing older caster items. you kill monsters to increase your exp of your character. You pluck flower to increase the exp of your gather herbs profession. All you’re asking for is faster leveling.
Idk seems like boosts will just take over if they remove GDKP; since you could 5-man BFD, you could just 7-man it and bring 3 buyers (Mail, Cloth and Leather)...
And that's totally fine. GDKP bids up gold, there isn't a static cost for a run so you want to bring as much gold as possible. Organizer's put whales against each other so they would bid up on items. GDKP massively incentivized gold buying.
I wonder if instead of GDKP where you spend money in a bidding competition whenever loot drops, people will now in advance spend their gold hiring people/guilds to clear raids, or to buy a higher rolling priority within a raid. Like, I feel like people will just become more creative in how they spend their real-money-transfered gold in order to get loot, and they will challenge whatever gray area surrounds the definition of a gold-for-loot raid.
This isn't law though. You can't abuse some loophole in the rules and laugh as the legal system can't do anything about it. If blizzard think you are breaking the rules then they can punish you.
Couldn't agree more, love armor sets in mmo's. Not just endgame sets. I wish this stuff came out years ago, would have been more fun for me. Gnomeregan is horrid for sure, have hated that place since '04.
they should add an good prof quest not just for the crafting jobs. i mean im a collector for my guild so i want to have an epic quest too .D for my flowers to pick :D
while crafting adds a great element to the game, if I wanted a full time job, id stop playing a game and go outside. for some its great, others its just not interesting. I hope you get what you want!!!
GDKP would be great to have but it would require blizz to deal with bots from day one. The ecconemy is alrady to screwed at this point for it to matter. But while I like the concept of GDKP runs it's horrible without proper enforcement because then you have to either buy gold or wait to be drip fend gear as gold buyers gear out their characters. And yes even non gold buying players make gold in runs to use to buy gear the problem is they can't compete with unlimited gold fueled by a credit card. And as time goes on their gold is devalued as gold floods the game from gold buyers.
Sounds like its just gonna be a bunch of super optimized 5 man groups running around and probably even guildies will run side by side groups in tabards and not kill each other. I hope this is fun but I have a feeling if you are alone or in an undergeared 5 man you arent gonna have as much fun.
Do people like Gnomeregan as a dungeon? I've literally never met anyone who was stoked to get it, and my experience with it with dungeon finder is people just abandoning group immediately because it's just bad. I like the idea of it, but my god it really shouldn't have been a dungeon. I'm glad they've learned from the Ashenvale PVP and by not having an arbitrary and completely pointless "progression" percentage that has absolutely no bearing on anything since there's no benefit to getting to 100% first. Making the STV on a timer helps alleviate the annoying layer hopping that people have been doing for min-maxing and making it a free-for-all fixes the faction balancing issue. Hopefully they implement or have implemented some sort of protection to stop people from farming the same few people, since it is an FFA it seems like it'd be wildly easy to coordinate farming, regardless of being able to group or not. I think the biggest thing about GDKP is that it means people often are using real world money to buy power for their character, which removes the equality of players inside the game. Big Joe forks out $100 to Isellgold for his 5,000 gold and then buys his way into a raid and then buys six pieces of loot. Little Frank can only afford his monthly sub, so he doesn't buy gold. Because of this he goes into a non-GDKP raid and loses the roll for every drop he needed. Big Joe is now significantly ahead of Little Frank simply because he has more real life money. Big Joe is now also helping the gold farming bot market stay healthy. I wouldn't care about GDKPs if the gold being introduced into the games economy were obtained through legitimate means, but except for a few people who are good at playing the AH, it's almost always just gold players bought. Don't get me wrong, I'm not deluded enough to say GDKPs are the only cause of botting, nor do I think that everyone who has lots of gold is just buying it with real money.
sucks that people are legitimately afraid of doing group content. really as a long time player i understand why, oh i do. i just figure its a shame that the fact toxic people exist is enough to turn someone off group content completely. i rarely run into genuine toxicity in my groups and when it does its usually related to the occasional loot dispute (muh class uses leather u can use mail). but yeah.. its unfortunately just something ya gotta deal with because its never gonna change.
The problem with wow is not only blizzard but the players. I came back to wow last week to play sod and because i came back late i was gate kept out of raiding bfd because i didnt have bfd gear😂 I couldnt even pug it because peoplr wanted you to have an ilevel over 300. I was in pre raid bis, or almost bis for some item slots and my ilevel is 220. What they dont seem to understand is not only is ilevel not a good way to evaluate how much damage someone will do, because there are a lot of high ilevel gear that is trash, but also the players with the gear might not be that good. I experienced this is in legion raiding. I had to organise my own raids to get curve, while teaching players with curve how to do antorus.
Idk i don’t want crafted gear to be better than the raid. Fine with them being decent as prebis but I’ve always thought crafted gear in my bis felt bad.
GDKP has always made bots and gold selling a big problem because GDKP raids always ends up with gear going for 1000s of gold they are a blight on all versions of wow its the equivalent of buying a wow token and paying a guild for a mythic raid boost
People claiming they saved up all their gold to enter a GDKP is not harmful is like getting into a vehicle while your friend is stealing it then trying to tell the cop you are innocent and it was not you who stole the vehicle. You are an accessory to the crime and that is how the judge will see it, There is a reason lady justice has a blindfold on and whether you think its fine or not simply taking part in a GDKP is helping to fund the underworld. What do you think they will do with your innocently made gold once you have bought your item? It gets sold in a RWT...So stop trying to tell every one your hands are not covered in blood and you didn't do the crime because lady justice does not see it like that. GDKP is absolutely bad for the community / economy / grouping and in game chat.
95% of gold purchased rmt goes to GDKP runs. GDKP isn’t inherently bad or wrong. But with the reality of gold sellers and gold inflation. GDKP only then increasing the incentive to buy gold like 1000x Banning GDKP might seem unfair but in reality it’s not going to effect 90% of the player base and it actually combats the gold sellers and Bots.
GDKP's encourage people to buy gold. More gold buying encourages more Botting. Whales will buy ass tons of gold online to get all the gear. Peoples get butt hurt losing to whales in a GDKP's... so they buy more gold. More gold buying encourages more gold selling, making botting a very profitable service. More Bots then. It becomes this vicious cycle between players and whales all buying gold, and the game becomes swipe to win. More Bots. This devastates the social fabric of the game because all the high prices encourage even more gold buying, and the game economy is ruined. You have to buy gold just to keep up with the high prices. The game becomes pay to win even further. More bots... The higher demand for gold requires more even more bots to keep up. The game becomes flooded with bots. MOAR BOTS!! You level an alt Death Knight in Wrath Classic because you just want to PvP, but all of a sudden there's no people. Only Bots. They chose DK's, because they start an higher level and can do alot of damage easily. This is how the WoW Token became introduced in Wrath Classic. This is why you have to buy gold in Wrath classic, just keep up. This is why you saw so many bots in Wrath. This is why I quit playing. And this is why GDKP's, Botting, gold buying, and gold selling should all be banned. And you think those botting accounts and hardware just went away? Nonsense poopy pants! The bots are still there.. lurking in the shadows,... waiting... for a new phase for Season of Discovery to launch.... and the cycle, to begin again... more money... more gold... more GDKP.... more bots... more money ... more gold ... more GDKP... more bots... more money .. more gold... more GDKP... more bots... MORE MONEY ..M ORE GOLDEE MORE GDKP MORE BOTS MORE BOTS MORE MONEY MORE GOLD MORE GDKP MORE BOTS MORE BOTS!! AAAAHHHHHAMOPQEO GU9QWP9EFJ[QEFJE[AQW What? There's only Bots and RMT in this game? F this I'm quitting for Final Fantasy XIV
Its very interesting to hear your point of view on professions and how you enjoy them so much. For me as an avid pvper, i have always dreaded professions in fact they are my least favorite part of the game. I would love to go and pvp with my friends and have fun but instead i have to go do some boring quest for gold in order to level my professions in order to get my gear and do well in pvp. With so many other gold sinks in classic it feels like a nuisance to me and will be last priority even after enchants.
Gnomerogon is the worst dungeon i hate running it because it took like 3 hours 😅 hopefully the raid version is as quick as BFD i dont have time to sit in raid 4 hours its what made me quit wrath when Ulduar came out
can you imagine if Blizzard added a quality rating to materials for example Iron ore being rated 201-399 and using a better rating ore make the final product you make better quality by higher armor and stats??...

you kill monsters to increase your exp of your character.
You pluck flower to increase the exp of your gather herbs profession.
All you’re asking for is faster leveling.
Love Gnomer!!! I can’t wait to get in there!!
I would like to hear more about the things you've done away from the PC. It looked very cool!
I'm pissed because this guys month of January then the entirety of the last three years for me
I wonder if instead of GDKP where you spend money in a bidding competition whenever loot drops, people will now in advance spend their gold hiring people/guilds to clear raids, or to buy a higher rolling priority within a raid.
Even if you havent done a GDKP its pretty obvious that it is fueled by buying gold, which drives inflation for everyone playing on the server
I seen a lot of people farming this shit but I keep trying it and I never have fun and never stack the blood. Just annoyed to max with it.
Couldn't agree more, love armor sets in mmo's. Not just endgame sets. I wish this stuff came out years ago, would have been more fun for me. Gnomeregan is horrid for sure, have hated that place since '04.
Will hpals be useless healers again😢
they should add an good prof quest not just for the crafting jobs. i mean im a collector for my guild so i want to have an epic quest too .D for my flowers to pick :D
I do not like that important abilities are random world drops.
while crafting adds a great element to the game, if I wanted a full time job, id stop playing a game and go outside. for some its great, others its just not interesting.
Welcome back
As i've said, i love classic because it separates the sweat ridden players from retail so...
Sounds like its just gonna be a bunch of super optimized 5 man groups running around and probably even guildies will run side by side groups in tabards and not kill each other. I hope this is fun but I have a feeling if you are alone or in an undergeared 5 man you arent gonna have as much fun.
Will probably be an addon for tagging players as being on the same team and warning if you target a teammate.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not deluded enough to say GDKPs are the only cause of botting, nor do I think that everyone who has lots of gold is just buying it with real money.
who liked BFD before the change?
We got to stop listening to people who dont even play the game. lol
sucks that people are legitimately afraid of doing group content. really as a long time player i understand why, oh i do. i just figure its a shame that the fact toxic people exist is enough to turn someone off group content completely.
i rarely run into genuine toxicity in my groups and when it does its usually related to the occasional loot dispute (muh class uses leather u can use mail).
but yeah.. its unfortunately just something ya gotta deal with because its never gonna change.
I never did a GDKP either. I'm too poor to be spending actual gold in gear I need.
The idea is you find a group/ pug then make gold from gdkp after you have gear
They said each class is getting 6-7 runes
Yes! Professions!
Fine with them being decent as prebis but I’ve always thought crafted gear in my bis felt bad.
if they didnt make trade armor bis for raid phases, it would disincentive any reason to do any gear crafting tradeskill on a main.
@@BIacklce what? That’s where all my money comes from.. tf you mean…
@@MultiAlig very rarely is a gear trade better than alchemy from a gph perspective. Especially as a phase goes on.
If banning gdkp will decrease gold buying you should ban boosting too !
GDKP has always made bots and gold selling a big problem because GDKP raids always ends up with gear going for 1000s of gold they are a blight on all versions of wow its the equivalent of buying a wow token and paying a guild for a mythic raid boost
Gnomer has always been a raid...
you know because someone steps on the circle and everyone dies. :/
Nixxiom, do you listen to a lot of folk metal?
Gave a like after you said i dont like gnomeregane
15:45 😂
GDKP only then increasing the incentive to buy gold like 1000x
Banning GDKP might seem unfair but in reality it’s not going to effect 90% of the player base and it actually combats the gold sellers and Bots.
I would say ban the IP for botting, but then they'll just use VPNs if they're not doing it already.
i never got to the first raid everyone gate keeped and ruined the point of sod that its not classic
You are so funny. Why would they stop gold farmers if they get more money from allowing it ?
AAAAHHHHHAMOPQEO GU9QWP9EFJ[QEFJE[AQW
What? There's only Bots and RMT in this game? F this I'm quitting for Final Fantasy XIV
this aged like milk
I have always hated Gnomer also
gdkp has nothing to do with gambling
You could be like the American version of the German "Drachenlord" :=) only from the looks though
With so many other gold sinks in classic it feels like a nuisance to me and will be last priority even after enchants.
id much rather them ban gdkp then add a wow token like wrath, they competely killed wrath for me with it
Gdkp’s inflate the prices of everything on the ah
I have up after a few weeks in SOD. It was fun but the people are killing it. Bad community for many reason. Same for retail. No thanks anymore.
They dont do anything about bots because they gain money from their subs. simple as that
Gnomerogon is the worst dungeon i hate running it because it took like 3 hours 😅 hopefully the raid version is as quick as BFD i dont have time to sit in raid 4 hours its what made me quit wrath when Ulduar came out
Literal god.
can you imagine if Blizzard added a quality rating to materials for example Iron ore being rated 201-399 and using a better rating ore make the final product you make better quality by higher armor and stats??...
do you have any comprehension of how Hackers operate! they will always get away with
