    Eliud: "I always say that I want to participate in all six Abbott World Marathon Majors and try to win them all. I’m on the right direction towards the Boston Marathon on April 17. The training sessions are going on well, especially the long runs on our ‘Boston training route’ have been good so far. I can’t wait to take this challenge!"

    Has nothing to prove to anyone, at an age when many marathoners have retired: and yet still trying to excel to himself, and the world. What an inspiration this man is.
    Really hope he can nail a Boston win - it's a different type of course, as he naturally recognises than any marathon he has done before, and his prep sounds solid.
    Him against Chebet especially should be memorising on the day, given Chebet's pedigree on the hills, and Do Nascimento is also a dark horse. Let's hope the weather is sound for a great race.

    Reckon he will run it Olympic style. Hang with the pack until 30k, then drop some fast 5k splits.

    • @franklehouillier8865
      @franklehouillier8865 Рік тому +12

      CJ Albertson and Daniel Do Nascimento will probably be pushing the pace pretty hard until mile 16. It might not be a pack with a bunch of super consistent Africans. It could be a question as to whether he lets them go and catches them in the hills or stays with them in the hopes of getting a course record.

      Without pacers this is probably likely however it is tactically very risky. There is no garantee that after 30k Kipchoge will will have the fastest 10k. He's far better off setting a strong consistent pace throughout ensuring he exploits his greatest advantage. Superior aerobic endurance over 40k.

I mean, Kipchoge was an amazing cross country runner! and even in his preparations for all those flat, fast, marathon courses he still had hilly training, so yes... he has a huge advantage in boston. Im telling you he was built for that course, (even though he is 38!) his running form really, and truly, amazes me! the reason hes so great is because of "discipline" ! NO HUMAN IS LIMITED!!!
