I found repairing my game via the EA App helped with the lag when using wallpapers. I have covid so I felt so delirious recording this lol... Once I'm better, I'll make my Shanice Shanice landlord let's play series!
Doesn't matter what you look like, you're beautiful on the inside. I'm surprised they are still giving blank lots, like we can't just go in and make them blank if we want... and i feel something like a block party or resident party would have been more appropriate than a pool party. Ohhh, you should have been able to Woohoo in the new decorative vehicle.
Oh no Satch sending healing vibes your way. Please feel better soon. But darn it I should’ve save my money I just purchased it yesterday. Didn’t get to play it yet now I don’t want to. Hopefully they will fixed all the bugs
Playing the Sims kinda feels like playing with Barbies sometimes - you have a hundred different Barbies with a thousand different clothes and accessories, and then you have maybe one or two Kens with like three outfits.
i wish the secret/blackmailing feature was cross compatible with discover university. like if you're failing, you can blackmail your professor for an passing grade. so much missed potential!
Or if a non-occultic sim catches an occultic sim in action, they could be bribed or axed to keep the secret. As usual so much potential but was ignored
If they'd given us the ability to mark an "apartment" as a restaurant, retail lot or vet, this would've been a must-buy pack for me. The ability to finally live above the business you own (without work-around weirdness) would've been huge.
They barely managed to successfully run Dine Out 😭😭💀💀theres no way theyd manage to do all of that. u imagine the chaos of putting for rent, dine out, and pets together? Our PCs would implode sksjksjskj
Very realistic with what happened 1-2 years ago when there was lockdowns accross the world. Tenants had extra protection and could go months without paying without being evicted. The world being so empty also resembles our world with the lockdowns. Sims 4 are just going through a pandemic I guess 🤣😭
@@chotanya i said the same thing when James Turner made a video about how the Sim's money system is broken. The toilet roll was more expensive than some windows 😂 sims is definitely stuck in the pandemic era
@@Dan55888 I'm mostly using this so I can have multiple families on the same lot lol. My plan is to move elders into their own house so I can keep gens going with still having the other extended family nearby.
“Oh my god I can make rentals! I can’t actually make any money off of them, tenants are randomly wandering into other rentals, the evictions are broken, and I’m getting sued for no reason but THIS PACK IS SOOO FUN!” It’s actually embarrassing some of the “reviews” I’ve seen.
Right?! I watched a couple and thought the pack looked so empty, yet they'd come to the conclusion that it was a good pack? It's a couple half-baked features with an empty world. Who's forking over $50 for this?
I was horrified watching those creators that got the early release not get paid rent. How? It's shocking. So what now? We gotta wait for Carl to fix it?
Really disappointing because I was gonna make my wealthiest Sim family the owners of the apartment buildings, but if they don't get paid then what's the point?
Carl went from a UA-camr , to a Modder , to a fixer of The Sims 4 . It's just my stand alone opinion . But , it shouldn't be Carl's job or responsibility to repair the game.
You can’t sell at the night market whereas in city living you could sell at the flea market. They have ‘child of the village’ but no tomorani festivals or events, city living comes with so many festivals and events. There are hardly any lots to create restaurants, spas, etc in the new aesthetic. They forgot elevators. Basically after you’re done building you’re left with a worse city living. 🎉
@@second_second_It’s soooo disappointing and insulting. For example we have Get Together in which we get Windenburg, a world with 27 LOTS! THAT is the standard and something that should be a given with every expansion pack considering how much money you pay. It’s such a clear cash grab and is so evil honestly.
That's because content creators make Sims games better with their incredible mods and cc, if only EA and The Sims Team hired them instead...we'd have the game we deserve.
When I saw there would be a botanical garden I was so excited I thought of a greenhouse-like building with exotic plants an huge lily pads etc but no it’s just nothing once again
Forever heartbroken over the meaningless greenhouse in Realm of Magic. It was so gorgeous and that entire section of the world was just set dressing, except for like a single plant IIRC.
i kinda couldnt believe it when i saw it in the early acces videos??? thats not a botanical garden thats hardly even a park??its hedges, a walkway, tiny bit of water and a covered bench. thats set dressing thats come randomly in other worlds, not wasting a whole lot.. where they could have built another rental lot since, you know, its the RENTAL PACK
The night market was so bare, I wasn't expecting much but it's awkwardly bare. I thought the other stalls would be clickable at least or run by NPCs, having just a few spread out open with multiple set dressings is just confusing.
Right. I dont get why they keep doing things to pretend the market is big or the city is big when the functional part is very small. City living festival feel alive and it just 3 stalls, the way its arranged it works. In tomarang is 3 stalls spread far aways beteween a lot of set dressing, why they do this ?
I was so confused lol. I took my sim there to look around and I clicked on the stalls, but nothing happened. I thought well maybe it’s open specific times. I had to go back and watch a video where they were exploring the new world and realized nope these aren’t functional. I was disappointed.
@@funnylittlecactus4672 it's ridiculous! have you seen videos of night markets in asian cultures? they're bustling at 3am. this expansion is kind of reaching 'insult territory' and I don't say that lightly
Also if you have the vampire pack , you can only have one loading screen to enter someone’s home so the game has the capability! If you travel to the lot you want to break into (one loading screen), then click on the door and select the ‘vampiric entrance’ or whatever, it just shows the inside of the house after a second without any loading screen!! So why not at least have the same capabilities in this pack , when the units are on the SAME LOTS
I thought about this too, I think the second loading screen after pressing break in is to clear the lot of any sims so that it is empty, the sims 4 default is for all sims to be home when you travel to their lot. It sucks but they are so LAZY and uncreative when it comes to manuvering around their limitations. You would think that if you knew you couldn't get rid of the loading screens between the landlord events and travel on the same lot that maybe you wouldnt make a whole pack based around that??? like all they did was highlight the the horrible mechanics of the game, there is so much else they could have done with Tomarang instead of tieing it to this trash and empty pack. if you ask me the only reason we got this lazy landlord pack is because they didnt want to add apartment building as a patch to the game even though we ALREADY have apartments in-game, and even though no one in the history of the sims community has ever asked to be a landlord in the game they saw a chance to monetize the ONE good feature by throwing EP on the cover, adding a bunch of dull filling and charging for an expansion.
this was definitely a game pack and not an expansion pack. i have to always compare the newer expansions to get together, just because of how large windenburg is.
I know! Windenburg came with 27 lots and a whole functioning club system. And the sad part is that the EA said that the pack was to larg for us and that they wouldn't be giving us something as big as that again. Really disappointing
Yeah, I have to agree. Like sure the apartment system and renting are huge, but it's not gameplay. The world is pretty to look at but doesn't have too much going on, just one big empty space to look at. 😅 Definetly a gamepack with an expansion pack price tag slapped onto it.
I know people ripped on horse ranch but if you actually do farm animal stuff and play with the horses etc and then all the other skills they added there's WAY more gameplay. This pack I needed so I can have multiple families per lot but honestly that's the only thing I really saw that was really good.
I've been waiting for this video since yesterday, your opinion is actually valid and not one of a Game changer who only talks about how pretty the world is, you talk about what we should have gotten not just overhyping what we have and I love you for that ❤
This! I just commented in the very same way, sometimes I just begin to find it frustrating a tiny bit misleading when other simmers make sure to only paint the new pack in a wonderful way and avoiding the more negative features. I can't go along with the pretense of it to be honest.
So real. I do not have the money to buy every single sims 4 pack so I carefully choose which ones i buy because i want it to be worth my money. I want people giving it an actual review telling me if they recommend it or not
The fact that all the positive opinions come from EA Game Changers can make them seem like they're being paid to be nice, but in all honestly it's probably just because EA only invites simmers who they know always give positive opinions to join the programmes. It does make it very biased, but I think that that's on EA, not the simmers themselves.
@@piggychocostitch5679I mean they are…. They all said hey type in my code when you buy this pack and I’ll get paid. A ton of them literally said this. 😭😭😭
We’ve hit the quantity over quality era with The Sims. I’d prefer two new expansions a year, with more time to flesh them out and play test vs one every quarter that are half done, with so many missed opportunities for activities and whatnot.
I don’t even want new expansions. I want them to fix the packs we already have and flesh those out. Honestly, even if we had to pay for the “refresh” it would be worth it. Bc the packs we already have still have so many missed opportunities.
Oh definitely. The expansion packs are quickly becoming game packs. Terrified what the next game pack will look like if this is what the expansion packs are now.
OOh ooooooh nononononono wtf are you tolking about that dosnt generate money and is basicly free labor nooooo ,no way you are getting more stuff and you gona like it
The Sims 4 is literally for Rent. The amount of money you have to pay to have "decent gameplay" (you will never have, and the one you have is full of bugs like this EP) My first Rent Stuff
The best answer is to become a pirate. I will NEVER feel bad for stealing from a company that has this kimd of shitty business model. No game ever should cost over $700 unless it is a real life sex doll or something.
@@Dan55888 lol the sim 4 is the only game that i pirated, and even then some packs made my game slower and unplayable. Image spending money on a thing that can make your gaming experience worsen. No thanks
It sucks that you feel you have to apologize for giving a pack a bad rating. Sometimes it feels like the only thing the pack brings to the table is a whole heap of new bugs. It honestly wouldn’t surprise me if a content creator/modder comes out with fixes for these issues or mods that actually allow the “secrets” to have gameplay effects.
Everyone who reviewed this pack early pointed out the not getting paid issue (or at least it rarely happening and taking a longer time than the in-game week). I am shocked they haven’t fixed it at all since it was a known and talked about issue before launch. I am enjoying the pack for what I wanted it for, but it certainly is not a $40 expansion worth of content. It’s a pumped up pack for literally one lot trait.
Remember my wedding stories? They have already proved they wont fix bugs before releasing the pack. EA likes to half ass everything and 'fix' later if you can even call it fixing.
The spirit house is like an offering shrine. This one is specific to Southeast Asia, but you can find similar variations all over the continent. Basically as the name says, they're to house spirits and appease them with offerings. In Thailand, for example, they leave rice and sweet things like coconuts, bananas and desserts to offer nice spirits and their presence would keep the more evil spirits away. Of course in the sims, unless you just know this or this is part of your culture, it just kinda seems like a quirky thing that gives your sims a nice mood. Why actually explain the culture behind it 🙄
I was hoping they might have an animation crouching or bowing in front of the shrine before laying the fruit offering, or have them actually show sims holding and lighting the incense, instead of sims using the generic grab animation. I’m not sure about the culture so I don’t know what people actually do at these shrines, but I’m sure you get my point.
It would've been so cool if there were actual spirits attatched, like if a Sim interacts and lights the incense, there is a chance that a deceased family member's ghost shows up. But I guess that would be too much work for EA🥲
Even after all these years, I still don't understand why they resist doing complete sets for build & buy, and I say resist because they must know the player base is unhappy. There are always random doors & windows, fences without matching stair railings, incomplete furniture sets etc. I checked the pack on EA App and they say the build mode consists of 199 items. I have no doubt CC creators could do so much better if they had a limit of 200 items, so why can't EA employees do it?
Omg this frustrates me to no end. Furniture that doesn’t match. Odd windows and doors that don’t match. It’s like just weird random stuff thrown at us. It reminds me of mismatched stuff sold at at a store at the end of the year.
But heaven forbid they hire actual CC creators like they did builders. Instead they act like CC creators are given the “honor” of making a new hairstyle, makeup option, or clothing piece once a year for an event to put in the game.
@@nickyn1083 yeah, honestly they should focus on gameplay and outsource asset creation to CC creators… imagine if all of build & buy was made by Harrie, Alexandre, etc.
Dude all I want is matching wood tones. Pick like 6 different wood tones and make everything have those swatches. Wouldn't it be less work for them?? Even within a single pack you can't get matching doors and windows sometimes.
Thanks for the candid review. I also really wanted to like this pack, but after seeing all the reviews, I'm feeling pretty underwhelmed. I might get in in a year or so when it's 50% off, but tbh I don't feel like I'm missing anything.
You could check instant gaming though, I always buy there unless there’s a 50% off, newer packs are obviously the more expensive but it’s still a great way to buy packs (and games in general) if you don’t want to pay full prices. Started using it around 6/7 years ago and never went back.
I’ve bought every expansion pack when it comes out, and this is the first one I’m skipping. The world doesn’t intrigue me at all, and there’s not really any new gameplay. Especially bc some of this stuff I already have through free mods. So yeah I don’t feel like I’m missing anything either. I have zero interest in this lol
thank you for the straight up no bs review. i dont even play the sims anymore, i just build. and if i do happen to actually play, i literally never leave the lot bc of the constant loading screens
I love the complete turn around from when sims 4 first came out they made a huge deal about there not being any rabbitholes like sims 3. That was suppose to be the compromise for not having open world you could enter all lots. Now it's one of the key features of their newest packs.
I usually never comment since I’m basically ancient (been playing sims for well over 20 years) but I gotta tell you that I find your reviews both so refreshing, cheeky and hilarious. It’s such a disarming mix 😀 just wanted to give you a a high five here from the sidelines and: don’t let them grind ya down🕺🏻
twitter called you....what? that is insane. i like your reviews the most, you and TheSimYin are the only reviews i trust to keep it totally real lmao. and you're right. Burglars are such a missed opportunity and i was really hoping for them to return, or at least a home alarm system lmao. idk what to expect anymore LMAO 😅
Same here, they are very honest. (I think Pixalade and Whiny Brit are good too, although WB waits until after to make a review), and sadly get attacked because how dare they not rate it 10/10 and lick the slippers of EA!
I haven't watched Plumbella in a while (Actually for some reason her videos aren't coming up despite I keep having suggestions for content creators I haven't seen before, usually that's when I click to watch) @@christabelle__
Satch this is one of your best reviews! I just felt like you played with this pack for a long time so you dealt with the gameplay so much that you can give a well rounded review! I really appreciated it!
They could have built a whole system around snooping and learning secrets. Stuff could tie to milestones and give your sim a "perception" of another sim based on what they discovered, like the compatibility feature that came with the high school pack. It could also have had cross compatibility with Get to Work and have the interrogations or the crimes and investigations much more complex and satisfying. Private investigator career, Burglar.
Here's my brutally honest opinion. EA has gotten so greedy that unless they completely fire everyone and start from scratch again these problems will never go away. Here's my brutally honest opinion about those customer base. We are all so easy to manipulate that we are giving us basically $50 for a game that might only be worth five, They know that you will spend $40 for a $5 game as long as the word Sims is on it. We need to stop accepting this level of bull crap before we're ever going to get a good game ever again
I think a lot of people who play the sims ONLY play sims so they don’t realize how bad they are getting ripped off compared to how good other video games are now. You can buy a PS5 or XBOX and a bunch of incredible games for the same price as boring The Sims 4 and all of their glitchy packs.
@@mewletter sure, but we can just compare EA and how they treat Sims audience versus other audiences and the type of game quality they're producing for each audience. Ea is held to a higher standard for pretty much almost all of the other games they make, We don't hold EA to a higher standards for the sims so that's why we get the bottom of the bottom of the barrel. We barely get straps that should just be in the game already for free, TO BUY ALL OF THE DLC AND PACKS AND EVERYTHING IT WILL COST YOU THOUSANDS AND THAT'S FOR A GAME THAT DOESN'T EVEN RUN PROPERLY MAJORITY OF THE TIME. YOU HAVE TO DEBUG YOUR SIMS LIKE 40 TIMES WITHIN 30 MINUTES OF PLAYING. This is a WHOLE other level
@@la6136 agree, if you play other games you actually realize just HOW bad the pricing model of the sims 4 is. It's honestly so shocking how a 40 dollar expansion pack as literally ONE feature! And it doesn't even work
@@mewletter Sure, there's plenty of game producers that are this greedy, except, they at least try to not make it too obvious, because they know gamers will turn around and find something else in a moment. Of course there'll be people who don't mind being f'ed in the behind and still buy the game regardless how bad it gets, but this is a small amount of players. Most will seek for a game that meets their needs&standards, aren't broken and overpriced for over 10x. The company knows it, and therefore, if they want their game to sell, they NEED to play somewhat safe. EA doesn't give a damn, because, simmers don't give a damn in the first place. They cry and moan about broken game, abundance of lags and being about as boring as driving through road 66 from top to bottom, but in the end, they'll still let EA suck up all of their money. EA as a result, goes even further with their scums and are even more blatant about it. It will continue and get even more extreme, because simmers are allowing them to do so. The fanbase is the exact reason for that bottomless pit you're all in. Saying that other companies are also greedy won't suddenly make the games they're spewing out good/worth the money. A trashy game is still a trashy game regardless.
i was surprised the tenants wouldn't talk to your sim.. as in initiating conversations about fines, rent, or emergencies. it would be fun and at least a little more clear if you received a text or a call from your tenants. i see real people texting their landlords about issues in their houses all the time, and this seems like a small but significant feature to add. i think it'd be cute to see Wayne panicking over his water system breaking instead of the side notification.
Same. I’m not spending anymore money with EA for half assed “packs” mods truly save this game no joke. Sims realist has better gameplay than this “expansion”
Do not give them ANY money. Why would they ever make a good game, when people keep paying them for the dogsh*t they're serving? If you give someone a dollar every time they slap you, they just keep slapping you. EA is not your friend. Corporations/companies are not your pal. It is always morally acceptable to pirate from EA. Corporations understand dollar signs - so people can whine and moan all the want, but even buying it on sale rewards them for their predatory practices! Continuing to support this means it's your fault for encouraging them. Pirating is easy, and virus free, and takes very little searching to figure out online. Stop rewarding bad behavior.
I really want this pack, but without being paid rent ever, what is the point? 😢 also I literally watched one video where they justly evicted someone and were fined and ratings went down when they did good things and went up for doing bad things. Fix the game play. Please. I mean some glitches will happen but no excuse when it's the fundamental thing about the expansion.
I’m glad you’re honest! Now that I play other games, the price of these packs & poor performance/bugs is really shameful. Happy to know ahead of time & can wait for updates
@treasurebug no they aren't. Don't make a generalisation when you may not know every person. My mom is a landlord and so far she hasn't even threatened eviction on a family KNOWN to just be POS cause she's non-confrontational. I agree a lot are POS but not all. You should make that distinction.
The rent glitch I got was after I made a fairly basic rental lot I tried to move in a sim I wanted as a landlord. The rent was set as 4.2 billion per apartment. I had to bulldoze the lot and rebuild about 3 times to change it, now it only shows 50
@@Ready-ForTheEnd I don't even know how it got that number! Is it even possible to build a lot up to that price without it looking like a tornado hit it?!
Excellent review, I’m a massive Sims fan but there’s no way on earth I’m spending money on something that is getting milked for nothing 😣 TS2 & 3 really set the benchmark for the franchise and there’s been no significant improvements since. It’s so disappointing, EA have delivered in the past, why not now 😵💫
the only honest review out there. something a person can stil turn to when everyone else pretends its all fine. thank you for that. its maybe not what people want to hear but its something people need to hear.
You are so correct on this new "modern" Sims community. They call anyone that disagrees with them some kind of "ist". It is so sad but that is who the Sims Team is chasing. Good luck to them, I'm out.
Thanks as always for your brutally honest reviews! One thing I'll let The Sims slide on, this time, is the fact that there's not much furniture to match the other build mode items. I can buy the idea that, since the pack is about rentals, it would make sense that the furniture you bring into the home doesn't necessarily match the architecture. However, the rest of the issues with the pack are pretty unforgivable. Even if it wasn't riddled with bugs, the fact that they implemented such an empty world with so much hype is disappointing. Who wants to go to a night market that isn't bustling with people or shops to buy from? Why include so many beautiful/romantic areas with no reason for any sim to ever go there? I think part of having beautiful world locations is the idea that a Sim could go there and do something that creates a special memory -- like have their first date or celebrate their anniversary. But because so many of the beautiful areas are just empty scenery with nothing to do, your Sims are all stuck having their first date at the bowling alley or the comedy club. Can Sims even go into the Tiger Sanctuary rabbithole together, like as a family trip or a date? Or is it something only one Sim can do at a time?
I came across your videos after searching the review for a couple games I wanted to buy. You're so honest and funny at the same time. Thank You! lol DEFINITELY changed my mind about a few games I would've been disappointed in.
Seen you react to this pack before its release and been waiting to comment this once it is out and when you are reviewing it! Coming from a Singaporean Malay, I think that it’s nice that the sims decided to represent us Southeast Asians as I feel that we need to be represented more in this world!! As a person who loves cultural architectures and cultural related things, I love looking at the lots and items in this pack!! I hope that in the future we can have more packs related to Southeast Asia!! Other than that, I am on your side with how this pack is like having bugs and all that!! Also Since now it’s rare to see villages in Singapore, it’s a pleasure to see that in this pack, I can see Southeast Asia style villages which is still common in other Southeast Asian countries like Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and much more!! Anyway love your videos!!
This pack felt like a Covid pack to me. Rushed, small, and uneventful. ETA: I’m also gonna complain, not about the wallpaper tool, but the lack OF wallpapers. The exterior options aren’t what I wanted/expected. I was wanting more. Tbh, this pack is more of a bonus pack to Snowy Escape. If you don’t own Snowy Escape, then you’ll have a hard time building. (Even though all the color swatches don’t match).
Thank you! Someone finally saying it doesn’t have much build buy! Everyone kept showing all the swatches, which makes it appear like there’s heaps, but I could never see much stuff either!
i love your reviews. most of the ones i see are sugarcoating most of it and doesn't really show the negative sides. it's pretty obvious that the sims team is focusing on quantity over quality when it comes to packs. something that costs $40 shouldn't be this broken on release day.
I really appreciate looking at your reviews, because I'm often skeptical about new pacs and want to see both good and bad about them, and you're clear about it.
Wow great review. Thank you for being so honest. I was on the fence about buying this expansion but after watching this as well as some other reviews, I think I'll wait until it's discounted at a future date 😅
Honestly I love the idea of being able to rent units so I bought the pack and I’m waiting till the true heroes of the sims-the modders-fix and upgrade the other features. It’s unfortunate that the modders show more love to the game than the company that developed it..
Satch my darrrrrrling haha! I have been waiting for this all day, I knew you'd deliver! There are some wonderful sim streamers out there, other than you, one of them is my other favourite who has early access but as sweet as they are, I need the brutal truth as it is laid bare LOL. P.s you look great don't be silly!
I was looking for the native landscaping in debug and noticed something many might have seen. The reason we didn't get any landscaping is because almost everything comes originally with Island Living and Jungle Adventure. While I don't mind them reusing landscaping and saving resources, it's hard to blend your lots into a world with no native plants.
15:36 I like how this is it. Snoop and your sim just stand and don't even interact with wardrobe, like it is even hard at this point to "play pretend" if your sim just stands and not like digging in wardrobe. It's a glorified screenshot simulator, not a life sim. Probably, even unique to all townies secrets could have been the thing, and it's actually cost nothing in terms of "animation to create", maybe you need more icons for that, but it just all about time and effort. And at this point, they just don't care. Imagine how many theories could have been created, and not only with Goths, Lotharios etc. but with other "new" premades.
They should have 100% focused on giving the illusion that someone active lives next to you as part of the gameplay. Like yeah, clicking and collecting some money is nice but the illusion of active neighbors, neighbors stories with drama surrounding cheating, family affairs, parties ect would’ve been such a better theme. Listening to walls
Thanks for the review! I buy the packs sparingly, so I waited for you to make this video before buying. I know you are always honest (pointing out both the good and bad)
For me, it is important to see reviews like this because this is a product people pay for and if it is not worth it I gotta know that! 🤷 We cannot have rose colored glasses for everything so thank you for your honesty.
I love your honesty! I never buy packs when they release bc for one I’m a builder and I agree I only want the aspect of being an owner and multiple units. I don’t play…and two it’s ALWAYS Broken no matter what. The fact so many people defend this and invest is what keeps EA doing the bare minimum.😭
I don't understand why The Sims team didn't just give us the ability to build residential rentals and the lot type as a base game update or added it to City Living.
I really think you had some great ideas about fixing the gameplay aspects of this one. If I was working on the sims (or on a competing game) I’d hire you just to play it and tell me how you feel. You do have a twisted sense of humor, but if people really listen to what you say you don’t bash anything without an example of how it could be better, I always listen to your reviews on a pack to help decide if I want it or not. Your opinions are obvious but your coverage is always fair, you pointed out the good without covering up the bad, there’s nothing wrong with being honest.
It's kinda expected that they will go into your private rental. Have you ever played as a vampire? If you just go to the shared area of your neighborhood to hunt whatever sims are nearby, they will suddenly be hanging out with you because you interacted with them. I've done it in City Living with neighbors - they chill at your house for a few hours and then say thanks for hanging out with them. That isn't a new bug, it's a decade old bug that they seem to never have interest in fixing it.
Where I live usually pet adoption drives are done in public places like grocery store parking lots under a tent or at a park or something like that, we don't have them in residential places, but maybe thats just where I live. Most apartment places don't encourage pets, they usually don't mind them but don't encourage them either. So this is a little different for me as well.
I was almost planning on buying it before I decided to watch the video and ultimately decided against it. The sims 4 has been going down in quality for a while now and to hear about it’s shortcomings, especially regarding this pack is extremely dissapointing. I’m someone who likes to create their own storyline but I found it so much more fun when the game randomly throws challenges at me, like one of my sims died from laughter, I like go with the flow and have fun with what I can come up with. I feel like I heavily rely on the presence of mods to help my gameplay feel more fun and it’s rlly dreadful to see how hollow the game became. I love the sims 4 and I genuinely like playing it but when EA are giving us stuff like this, where even the fundamental mechanic doesn’t work.. That’s just something I’m not at all interested in paying 40 dollars for. Thanks for the video Satch! I’ll be waiting for the review of Lovestruck which will hopefully bring us some new hope for the game.
He’s like the Gordon Ramsay of sims. You could call Gordon a shitty person and a hater, but he’s only mad all the time because his staff are master chefs and should NOT be making simple mistakes like undercooking chicken
Im new to the sims 4 and just started getting into the expansion packs. Ive got the first 3 expansion packs (plus seasons as it was free) and really loving it. I must say, the content on the more resent packs really dont look worth the money even if they are on sale!
For some reason the sims community in general panders to EAs less is more ethos where the less is effort for customer satisfaction and the more is money straight into CEOs already overflowing pockets. I applaud your honest reviews Satch, I watch a lot of other YT sims players and most of them won't tell the full truth. Can't wait for all the new simulation games that are coming out so I can leave EA behind forever! Get well soon 💜
To be brutally honest, I think they are doing the bare minimum on TS4 and will continue to do this up until TS5 is released probably in 2025. They are throwing all of their resources at the new game but not missing out on an opportunity to keep cashing out for low-effort expansions in the current game. Honestly, if they could release a world that was 100% rabbit holes they would.
I really appreciate your opinion about the sims 4 game and every packs it has. You tell all i need to know the gameplays and packs and always help me to decide to buy or not to buy packs. Don´t you ever change the way you tell us about these ones because you are honest and thats all i want to hear. So keep going, you do a good job!
I got the pack yesterday, made some sims, made them adopt a toddler and the toddlers face looks like the sims 2 corrupted sims 😭 He looks fine in other life stages but his face is messed up as a toddler. I took my mods out and it isn't a mods problem, idk what's wrong with him. But I haven't had this problem before I got this pack. Apart from that, I'm loving this pack so far. It's definitely more of a game pack than an expansion pack so anyone who hasn't got it yet, definitely only buy it on sale.
Did you have any No EA Eyelashes or Toddler Presets mods? I have a theory that at least the second one persists after removal if it's already been applied.

And YOU have to act out all the stories bc the Barbies won't do it themselves. -.-

i wish the secret/blackmailing feature was cross compatible with discover university. like if you're failing, you can blackmail your professor for an passing grade. so much missed potential!
Or if a non-occultic sim catches an occultic sim in action, they could be bribed or axed to keep the secret. As usual so much potential but was ignored

Right just for a free pack
We must protect Carl at all costs.
LMAOOOO Yes we need Carl
Carl went from a UA-camr , to a Modder , to a fixer of The Sims 4 .
It's just my stand alone opinion . But , it shouldn't be Carl's job or responsibility to repair the game.
@@kevinw374Yeah modders should be enhancing for fun, not fixing. Literal RENT is broken in ‘for rent’.
Others i can kinda let go, but the thing I can't believe the most is, they give only 9 lots for the price of an expansion pack.
There's a burglar _mod_ that lets you break into Sims' houses. And they even react if they catch you. Crazy right?
Don't be shy, drop the mod for us 🤠👹
@patriciafuller1556 There are two that I know of. Sacrifical's mod and Carl's mod. I'm not sure which one they are referring to, though.

Me too, I imagined a beautiful greenhouse, plants, fountains, tropical fish. Big disappointment
Same here. Immediately upon arrival, I decided I was going to bulldoze the lot. -_-
I wish we could make our own worlds.
i kinda couldnt believe it when i saw it in the early acces videos??? thats not a botanical garden thats hardly even a park??its hedges, a walkway, tiny bit of water and a covered bench. thats set dressing thats come randomly in other worlds, not wasting a whole lot.. where they could have built another rental lot since, you know, its the RENTAL PACK
The night market was so bare, I wasn't expecting much but it's awkwardly bare. I thought the other stalls would be clickable at least or run by NPCs, having just a few spread out open with multiple set dressings is just confusing.
it was terrible, and there are barely any NPCs
Exactly how I feel, it was so empty and confusing 😭
So vampires are the ultimate land lords
@@Agustin9191I mean if you think about it, it’s basically a bunch of free money and blood sources
@@Arreyuh yeah and It would be a fun idea for a story 😎
@@xojourdieExactly!
this was definitely a game pack and not an expansion pack. i have to always compare the newer expansions to get together, just because of how large windenburg is.
I know! Windenburg came with 27 lots and a whole functioning club system. And the sad part is that the EA said that the pack was to larg for us and that they wouldn't be giving us something as big as that again. Really disappointing
Totally agree with this being a game pack, the world alone doesn’t seem expansion pack worthy
Not just the world, also the amount of objects and gameplay. This is definitely a game pack.

An opinion is an opinion for a reason idk

"Never have I ever spent so much time in loading screen in all my life, even I didn't take this many loads in my bottom era" I died hearing this 😂💀
Everyone who reviewed this pack early pointed out the not getting paid issue (or at least it rarely happening and taking a longer time than the in-game week). I am shocked they haven’t fixed it at all since it was a known and talked about issue before launch. I am enjoying the pack for what I wanted it for, but it certainly is not a $40 expansion worth of content. It’s a pumped up pack for literally one lot trait.
Why fix glitches when fans will still buy at full price and just wait for the selfless work of modders?
Remember my wedding stories? They have already proved they wont fix bugs before releasing the pack. EA likes to half ass everything and 'fix' later if you can even call it fixing.
@@homeiswonderland Honestly the pack worked fine for me with the exception of the lag they fixed in a patch a week later.
Exactly!
A feature I love in Sims 2 is the ability to convert regular houses into apartments by using the cheat 'changelotzoning apartmentbase'.
Thanks for the candid review. I also really wanted to like this pack, but after seeing all the reviews, I'm feeling pretty underwhelmed. I might get in in a year or so when it's 50% off, but tbh I don't feel like I'm missing anything.
Same and I typically buy everything on release.

Pretty much a lot of major corporations are that greedy and getting worse in terms of the products & services they provide
Satch is going to do so well with his channel, people really do appreciate pure brutal honesty!
You are the only sims 4 review I trust, love your content
i was surprised the tenants wouldn't talk to your sim.. as in initiating conversations about fines, rent, or emergencies. it would be fun and at least a little more clear if you received a text or a call from your tenants. i see real people texting their landlords about issues in their houses all the time, and this seems like a small but significant feature to add. i think it'd be cute to see Wayne panicking over his water system breaking instead of the side notification.
This was the review that I was waiting for. To be honest, I'm totally wanting for a sale for this pack.
Just pirate it. EA dosnt deserve any more money for this game
Same. I’m not spending anymore money with EA for half assed “packs” mods truly save this game no joke. Sims realist has better gameplay than this “expansion”
Same! Ain't no way I'm paying full price.
I thank you and your pimple for this video today! Its not the collab i was expecting but im grateful nonetheless
Why is this comment so unhinged 🤨
The rental "quality" going up without thre landlord doing anything sounds realistic from my experience, sadly. 😂
Thank you for your work, Satch. And you don't look ugly, that sweater looks great on you and I like the color)
Waited for your review, thank you! Now it'll be the 2nd expansion pack I'm not buying straight away (along with Horse ranch). Feels totally right
This pack felt like a Covid pack to me.
(Even though all the color swatches don’t match).
when new sims4 things come out, i need to come to this channel to see the realest review 😅
Thank god for YT'bers like Satch who keep it real. 💜
Honestly I love the idea of being able to rent units so I bought the pack and I’m waiting till the true heroes of the sims-the modders-fix and upgrade the other features. It’s unfortunate that the modders show more love to the game than the company that developed it..
i love your reviews please never die

I like how this is it.
All they have to do to make clothes work is make sure every clothed item fits the male and female frame! It just fixes all the problems!
Yes! The plain basics in a variety of colors that can be for all Sims.
Omg thank you for this!!! Probably the most comprehensive and actual in-depth review of this pack I've seen so far!
Wow, this REALLY feels like a game pack 😅
Even less than I feel like
I really think you had some great ideas about fixing the gameplay aspects of this one.
Your honest reviews are everything. Thank you for this. I am still sore that I did not find your channel before snowy escapes.
I love the honesty in your reviews! It’s so refreshing to see you not care about what others think of you! Keep doing what you’re doing!
You are a breath of fresh air in this community. Keep being honest hun ❤
You are always extremely fair in your reviews, love watching you and so does my wallet lol
The way ive been checking UA-cam every hour since yesterday waiting for this. FINALLY thank you satch
Satchie, although we appreciate your humbleness, u know damn well, u could never be ugly. We love u snotty and all. ❤❤❤
I know you were serious from start to finish but you're hilarious. The self roasting is *chefs kiss* ❤
