5:27 Wow I love that riff, great playing! And the blend of plucks with long released pad-like sound. I guess it's the two individual oscilators programmed to doing each a different thing? That is sweet!
@AGDugros : Where did you get that "Duel of Life" preset? Is it your own creation? I would really love to have it but I don't find it in the factory presets. Thanks for helping.
Wow, that sound of the first piece you play in this video is so rich and beautiful! I can listen to it over and over again. It doesn't matter whether or not this is a good emulation or not, this synth is simply top-notch. Thank you for giving this great sounding demonstration. Greetings from Belgium!
Just purchased this recently. After listening to what you can do with it am confident it was a wise choice. Haven't tried any sound design yet, still getting acquainted with its many fabulous sounds. Prior to this one acquired the Mercury-6. And just this past week got the Elka X. Your demos have been really inspiring.
I have an old version of the Arturia CS80 that I was never that happy with, so didn't invest further in. This sounds much more like a hardware CS80 to my ears. Plus it feels like it even has a little of that saturation non-linearity that many VST's don't even get close to.
You should check out the newer version from Arturia. It sounds more real to me then this. I love Cherry Audio but this one is a bit meh to me compared to Arturia's
@@fa0179 Actually, I should and will check out the demos. If nothing else it's probably a fairer thing to do than compare the new GX to the 5-year old Arturia version I have. 👍
I think this sounds better than the ARP and juno 106, which I thought was nothing special, owning the real thing, not really fair to compare, but it wasn't even close. This at least has a lot of individual character. That opening was breaking up in spots. It's nearly impossible to capture the gritty defects of real analog, but this is getting closer.
@@AGDugros Yes, I think that's an older PA you have which might have the Yamaha FS keybed in which was originally in the DX7 and then the Korg M1, Trinity, M3 and Oasys. I have a Korg Trinity Pro 76 which this keybed and aftertouch and its the best action I've ever played on a synth. The inbuilt sounds are very dated and I don't use them much but I wouldn't sell it as its too valuable as a controller. I have a Korg M50 which is pretty much the same as the M3 sound wise but has an awful keybed.
I have the Arp Quadra from Cherry Audio and some other powerful VST's like Brainworx Oberhausen, Sylenth1, Surge XT, Phosphore, Vital, ODIN2 and my own Roland FA06 custom user sounds. Between these, the GX-80 honestly doesn't add a lot to my arsenal. It is VERY nice, but I hear A LOT of overlap in the GX sounds and other analog modelled synths. However, I do not doubt if I started to dig deep, my opinion may well change. And, for $59? OK I'm sold
This is an excellent demo, but maybe the CS-80 and the GX-1 are a bit overrated if this is an accurate VST for them. What I want out of a vintage synth is a fat sound... that's pretty much it. I'm just not hearing that with the GX-80. Today's modern analog synths do so much layering, it's hard to match for multi timbered sounds. I don't think this would ever come close to replacing my Polybrute, my UDO Super 6, my Prophet 6, or even my Waldorf Blofeld. And the sounds don't really give me more than what i'm already getting, and it's not that versatile. But I'll probably buy it anyway.... like I said, excellent demo.
We love how the originals and the GX-80 sounds, but to be clear, a CS-80 isn't a Moog. By nature, the CS and GX-1 are almost always simultaneously applying lowpass and highpass filter to some degree, resulting in a bandpassed tonality. This effectively means that low frequencies are usually getting attenuated to some degree. You can make up for that by adding in the post-filter sine wave, but generally speaking, vintage Yamahas aren't the thing for earth-moving low end. But we have a Memorymode we'd love to sell you. :P
@@CherryAudiovst Congratulations on GX-80, and nice to see you have wisely borrowed the "Last Played" function from Memorymoon ME80. Now there are two excellent versions of this fine synth and the edition of GX1 filters has made this it's own thing. Great stuff.

It blows my mind that these synths are all so affordable and sound great.
They sound great only in the context of other plug-in’s. In person - side by side, there is little to no sonic similarities.

This is a stunning synth
Cherry Audio is on 🔥One great virtual synth after another.
Great playing, great patches, great synth, great video ☺️
The synth is actually inspiring.
Yess we love no talking videos
Indeed, we do love those, especially because Andrew knows how to create beautiful pieces of music out of these synths.
Amazing vst. Will be getting this in the near future. Thank you for the demo!!

The Arturia blew me away when I first played it. A lot more like the real deal.
Superlative ultra high end sounds this plugin, but extreme no friendly for CPU.
Hi @futumama1 with the new updgrade the CPU usage is lower on my computer.
I like the bells at around 2 min 20 seconds.

Great playing and a great synth. What controller are you using? Is it a Korg?
Yes in this video I use a Korg PA beceause have a good keybed and aftertouch.

does it support Poly AT, yeah i have a controller with it. 3 of them hahaha
1:16 - 1:50 gave my Oxygene Pt. 4 vibes.
Gx 80 Is an inspiring instrument!
I can see how into it you are, my man! Do you have the lexicon reverb from the BR days? Curious if you decided to try it out on this specific release.
No I use the TASCAM DM 3200 Mixer, the Lexicon is not a reverb but a MIDI interface.
How much juice from a lap top does it need, requires in memory, ? etc (I’m worry about slowing it or freezing since I use it for other things lol)
Hi! I’ve composed one of the official demo tracks with 12 instances without any problem.
Thank you for literally just playing the damn thing 😅 every other video on youtube about this synth is just full of blah blah blah
I just told my bro the same 🤣😭
I thought the same thing! YES, THANKS FOR THAT :P

Yes obviously
