It looks really good, however the issue I have with RC rally cars is that they are a compromise in every way. If you want something that’s fast and fun on road and handles well (and has a gyro) then buy an Infraction/Felony. If you want something that’s fast off road then buy a 6S truggy. If you want something that has a lot of ground clearance then buy a monster truck. If you want something that doesn’t throw up a load of dirt inside the body shell and all over the electronics then buy something that has the wheels outside of the body shell.
Yeah, I get you mate, but rally RC is kind of like crawler levels of scale racing feel good rc. I have a few WR8s and they are so fun to drive on almost any surface and easier to transport than 8th scale buggies.
@@WilsonsOnTheFly The WR8 is amazing. One of the best handling rc's ever. I just wish there were more replacement parts available. I got lucky and bought a used roller for like 200 on eBay and the only thing broken was a tie rod. Now I have an entire extra WR8 in case I break something on my original one lol
The Rlaarlo has the issue that i find with all cars. Bigger is better. The larger the car the better it looks doing anything. It's no different than a SCX6, Xmaxx, or big Arrma truck. Compared to the average smaller versions the big guys just make everything more fun and look cooler. My wife has been telling me something similar for over a decade.... it's definitely true in RC, for me at least.
I agree, that’s probably the best looking licensed rally car on the market. But for strictly running, and maybe not best looking, I’ll stick with my Rlaarlo, that, and I just can’t afford $500, lol. Nice video
Merry Christmas Phil! Yessir, this thing is a winner, but “the true winner” I dunno? The Cen is a true performer and looks great with that beautiful licensed body. The Rlaarlo however is not licensed (-5 points) but does have real working front+rear lights( +5 pts) and also a backfire light in the fake exhaust port(+5 pts) and handles just as well in my mind. To me, that’s enough to put it on top. I think a 3 way comparison is in order. Traxxas vs Rlaarlo vs Cen, or include your favorite others too from Carisma and whomever else. Would make a fantastic comparison.
M sport was mad a big part of it when Malcolm Wilson was running the Ford team and then it became m sport was an epic era when it crossed over to M Sport I'm a big fan of the Ford rally especially the escort Cosworth night stages were so awesome bless Malcolm Wilson I even have a MICHELIN Pilot escort Cosworth with him on it
This a beautiful car. It looks like a lot of fun. In the U.S on the Men site both models sell for the same price. There are several good rally cars out there. I am surprised that some form of r/c rally racing or rally cross racing's not taken off in popularity. The rally racing where you follow your car is popular in Europe. We have a lot fat, out of shape guys in the r;/c hobby. That's why I thought rally cross racing would be popular, but not so much.I think this car with rally block tires or the Rlaarlo would be great for rally cross.
This is one of those "RC's" that breed so many mixed reviews. I had the 2023 blue one and it was a bloody wreck-haha! everything broke so easily that i fixed it and flipped it on ebay!
A nice looking car and I like CEN. For me I always chop the body post short as I can. ThenI round them off then sand the round and polish with Autosol plastic polish for a cleaner look.
@TomleyRC all good, you have given me many ideas, and that's what the hobby is about enjoying and sharing what we do. Sometimes the ideas are good and sometimes they are not, but we just take what we like and give it a go. Thanks for the videos, and enjoy the festive season.
Man, I love me some rally rc cars! I keep wishing for Arrma to join in on a rally quest. A mojave 4s or 6s size rally car would be awesome don't you think?
Add the Redcat Vigilante also. I've got no use for my Xmaxx since getting the Vigilante. Redcat just released a complete set of machined gears, front to rear to address the one weakness it has. Best part is that all the gears and pinions in the truck only cost $80.
Merry Christmas Phil. I have really enjoyed your videos this year. And even though I enjoy you and your videos, I always click on that link, and it always makes me laugh
I was looking at this just yesterday but my CEN has the updated rear support so didn see any reason to get another as i like the blue body better. That being said, based on what you said about the Rlaalo, I just ordered one of those. LOL
I do love the look of the rally cars. I nearly got one of those Maverick ones last year. But seeing as I had the Maverick drift truck gathering dust the past couple of years, I stuck a 6S ESC, some long travel suspension and off-road wheels on it. Still waiting to get out with it though.
That pocket rocket is so planted , even you struggled to get it wheels upwards Phil - All the best for 2025 - give my regards to Aaron too & both your familys 🎉🎇🎆🎊🍾🥂🥃😊
If this had a center differential, I would be all over it VS the Rlaarlo. Owning the Rlaarlo does come with "stupid wheel size" tax. The ID is 57MM and impossible to find. :(
Looking at the rear wing, the 1/10 version i designed and printed for my puma racing shell was pretty damn close. That really poor vacuum formed effort really let an otherwise good shell down.
Hey Dude. I found your channel when I was trying to decide weather to buy one of the 1:76 scale drift cars and now im obsessed 😂😂 Love the vids keep up the good work (P.S. I decided to buy the little car as it seemed like some fun and as i have a dog i cant use bigger ones on the floor so excited for it to arrive)
Looks like you have a new chosen RC car you may be a new challenger with the other cars interesting idea is to switch the tiers with the drift tiers instead before good luck dude 😎.
Some of the later rollouts of the earlier version had the body posts fixed in. Mine had it fitted out of the box. That said, would you say the only difference in this latest release would be the bodywork?
Guess it would be fair to say the CEN is best for a 1/8 and the Rlaarlo is the best 1/10. However, besides scale, the CEN just doesn’t compare to the Rlaarlo XTS
Hey tomley am a fan of your video i have a question i just got my first amoril rc 1.14 scale I was testing it as first and kind of crush it when I try to drive it the wheel wobble a little I don't see anything bent as much so I'm not quite sure what the problem it or what to do
For some reason I just don't like modern rally cars. Gimme a classic Ford Escort Mk1 or Mk2, or a Colin McRae Impreza, (which I have, 1/8 scale, on top of my wardrobe) and that's about my limit!
I really like this car, the licensing looks great! I did see the MJX citroën rally car on amazon for 140, and the rlaarlo is 300, right? Besides the scale, what sets this car apart from them?
I've been having issues with my Rlaarlo. Stones getting stuck in the center diff after 2 minutes and after only 1 pack through it is now 3 wheel drive. :(

coming from someone who doesnt havea clue about rc and suspension tuning, the suspension looks really good. looks so smooth on the dirt and road.

1 year closer to getting myself a TRX4, hopefully if everything goes will with work i should have one very soon
Good luck dude 🤞🏻
Just got one
You'll really like it. I got one recently and haven't had any issues and have really enjoyed it without adding any upgrades even
Can't go wrong there!
@@cooperkoliba DOnt get me wrong my FTX is good as it is (it should be ive poured over £300 worth of upgrades into it) but shes getting tired now.
I am Confused a month ago you were telling us it was the Rlaarlo.
Why limit yourself to just one…. they are both awesome 😇👌
This is 1/8th scale which is bigger 😮😊
Rlaarlo is 1/10th. CEN and HPIs are 1/8th rigs.
Only way to improve this would be a 1/5 scale
I watched the actual video, so I'm not confused...
Can you please review the new mn82s
This rally car is nice. You have a great collection.
Cheers dude
Whoop whoop! Beautiful ❤️
What about the Car? 😇
@TomleyRC it's ok-ish too I spose 🙈
I have both. They are both awesome, great review.
Maverick quantum rx is definitely the first choice anyone should have for a rally. It’s a much bigger for a 1/8 and it’s 4s out the box!
I've been to the Msport factory for a walk about. I would highly recommend it. There are some stunning Fords there.
Merry X-Mas & happy new year to you and your family. From Canada (Quebec), thanks for another year of reviews and keep it up, love your work !!!!

Nice ornament for the fireplace, also very cheap.
Nice rally car. It doesn't look quite as floaty as the Rlarlo....unless I'm making things up in my head.
Yeah, does feel a little nicer. Probably due to the size and different suspension
Love a good rally car. Really hoping that Arrma and Corally have a stab at doing a 1/8 or 1/7 one in 2025
Tomley ! with because videos i will share the RC world to my friends of Brasil !!
That was a great idea you had in the beginning for a video. Always thinking outside the box Phil, thanks for always being entertaining 💯✌️…

Tomley ! the ambassadeur of rc world !
I personally rhink the HPI WR8 is the besy RC rally car, especially with that centre diff
If it wasn’t so bloody expensive maybe I would grab one

Its a great looking shell for sure, and out the box speeds aint to bad, deffo needs some rally blocks and a blast on a gravel stage 👍

Yes 🤓
I’m not lying, I watched the best Rc car to buy in 2024 last evening and it’s the same type of car 😂
I read that they have upgraded the steering with integrated servo saver - while previous year did not have a servo saver.

@@TomleyRC Good price too. I took the 4S ESC out of my Maverick and put it in my Senton. I do love a Senton too.
