This movie was so stupid. I cannot believe I wasted my time. I finally exited out when he proposed to Miranda’s mom and they jumped in the pool. So that’s cool that Miranda crosgrove and her husband are now step siblings.
Glad this was brought up and that I wasn’t the only one who thought it was fuckin weird 😂
The only positive is Brooke Shields getting work.

It’s crazy how well the original movie did like it’s such a basic concept but it’s so fuckin good. It has so much heart and soul to it that it almost feels like it’s a memory from your past about when your sister got married
Yeah, that could’ve worked. It could’ve gone over a mother son relationship that was maybe a bit overbearing. the concept has some possibilities to it
Didn't George Clooney and Julia Roberts already make this movie🤔 This must be the temu version.
I cringed all the way through. Could barely stand to look at it. I can't say if this or the Lindsay Lohan Irish Wish was worse. Nightmare fodder. Enough to make you die of cringe and I'm too old for all this cringe. Nobody acted like a human, there were no real characters, stupid beyond belief

I started watching it and 15 mins in I was like hell nah. So formulaic, the jokes were predictable, the characters were annoying. And I was just gonna have it play in the background but it was so bad I couldn’t lol

I usually dont dislike movies but this one was not very good. The wedding scene was the worse. I thought it was a rehearsal because it was so rushed.....
Apparently, Shields actually improved the script a lot. So I can’t imagine what that movie would have been like.
She should have just rewrote the damn thing.

Script, delivery and the whole movie was as awful and awkward as Kidman/Efron’s cringey disaster, A Family Affair.
I'm glad Brooke Shields got this job so she didn't have to resort to only fans.
I avoided this movie after seeing who awful it liked based on the trailer, plus even though brooke Shields still looks hot she was never a good actress just good to look at
The original 1950 Father of the Bride (Spencer Tracy and Elizabeth Taylor) is a comedy classic. Your review makes me want to watch it again and then rewatch the 1990s remake. great review

I don't think Netflix has ownership of Father of the Bride. I believe that is owned by Buena Vista, which is a Disney company, its weird though that HBO did a remake of that in 2022. It stars Andy Garcia as the Steve Martin character and they add a bunch of .cultural shit to it. So I don't think the Mother of the Bride thing has any connection to that series its just a title. You asked who this film is for? Its for the upper middle class women in their mid forties to mid fifties so they can self insert themselves into this movie and live a fantasy of having a younger guy like Chad Michael Murray and Benjamin Bratt fawning over them while living a fantasy of a luxurious resort as the back drop.
The writing was insipid and formulaic. None of the actors were used to their potential. Brooke Shields I don't think was meant to be a comedian, so her being the main source of humor was terribly conceived. Every character was beyond tropey. A lot of the scenes felt like they were done in one take. They did nothing creative or fun with the setting, with the wedding music being the only thing reminding us they were in Thailand. The justification for the main couple disappearing from each other's lives was shaky and lame. Making Miranda Cosgrove an influencer in this movie Knowing full well she spent most of her life playing in iCarly was stupid and uncreative. I am so glad I took a pot gummy before watching this, because it would have felt much worse
This kind of trash makes me angry that I have to live in the current world. I'm 52, and remember the glory days of the 80s & 90s when I had fun watching movies. I hate current society.
I initially thought this was a spinoff of Steve Martin’s FOTB, which I really like. Then I watched a different UA-cam review of this, and heard gore terrible it is.

You should watch the Bollywood film 'Animal,' I can bet you haven't seen anything like it. Especially just how emotionally intense it is. Rest is up to you 🙂
Seriously, I crushed numerous levels of Candy Crush while rolling my eyes at the dialogue in this movie I barely watched, but hated.
I watched like 5 minutes of it and it was horrible. It's so annoying that someone gives money to make such a movie.

The Spencer Tracy original is also good, as is the (short) sequel Father's Little Dividend.
