One word to describe this movie; Why? Like Why? If you gonna reimagine/remake The Crow, why make it a generic ultra violence action film? The original was never known for its action, it was known for the look, the soundtrack, Brandon Lee's acting, the dialogue and memorable lines, the emotional feel of the movie, the night, the rain, and of course the push for the goth movement. The comic book is violent, but it still had style, had a dark noir look to it. This movie looks like generic action movie # 254, which will be forgotten within a year.
The original was known for Brandon dying on it. Seriously, how many Brandon Lee movies did you see before that?????? I was a big fan before The Crow. i can tell ya, nobody was seeing his movies. You people need to stop looking for some connection, to fuel your bitching. This is not the original and it was never meant to be a rehash. Its a reimagination of the original source material, not the damn movie. LOL For one thing, there are MULTIPLE stories and this look is from The Crow Wild Justice. LOL But, you obviously are aware of that. LOL The emotion of the first movie is a combination of a dreary setting and the emotion of lose that is based on real events. That was Brandon's movie and this was Billy's. Dont hear people complaining about the original IT and the reboot that had Billy as Pennywise. LOL Let it go and embrace that this is a fictios movie not meant to be friggin reality. Brandon sure would of loved to know that they didnt stop making movies after he died. LOL
@@teresaforever21 yes James refers to her as “the girl who was Shelly” so incredibly sad. He writes about it in the special edition how he used this story to capture his rage and guilt. It’s a good read.

I was excited when I heard the cast but the 1st trailer came out I knew, when it’s free I’ll watch. Maybe I’m bias but nothing will ever be as good as OG 🤷🏻♂️
This movie didn't really have much to do about either the OG or sequels or even the graphic novel. I guess fleshing out the characters seems alright but it felt rushed, like they meet and fell in love and all of a sudden he's willing to die and kill for her?
Good review. I really appreciate the fact that you reviewed the movie you watched and did not fall into the "wHO AsKEd fOr tHiS????" attitude that so many others adopt. Nobody gets to ask for art. And having source material that can be adapted is going to make people try to make something new out of it. So I dig the fact that you really seem to have watched it from that perspective. Good stuff. Also, fwiw, I'm an old crapper and was in college when the original came out. I am really fascinated by the fact that the to my recollection it was not a big deal at all back then, other than the awful tragedy that befell Brandon Lee. It's cool to see people embrace a movie that was not embraced at the time.
I loved the movie. It's sad that its not hitting for some people. I do also think there are a lot of people who have been out to get this movie since it was announced though because "Brandon Lee's legacy" My biggest complaints and I don't have many is that the soundtrack while good, is misused in certain places it feels. I would've like to have seen more out of Roeg' as a villain. I would've preferred the transformation into the Crow maybe 20 minutes earlier. The biggest complaint though was the purgatory guy with all of his exposition. I didn't need him to tell me that Eric feels pain and can't die because that was very obvious from watching the film already. Other than that I really really enjoyed the film and am sad to see it get a lot of hate I don't think it deserves.
Why do you guy’s keep going into this movie comparing it to the original?! Seriously this has to stop! It’s not going to be the original! Nothing ever will be. Just go into the movie and enjoy it as a crow movie, please! Jesus! That’s the problem I’m seeing with all these reviews! You’re comparing it to something it can’t be compared to. Just watch the movie and enjoy it! I know I’m going into this movie today and I’m going to enjoy it as a fan of The Crow. I’m not comparing it to the original or anything else! I’m just watching it as a fan. I love anything that has to do with The Crow, I loved the original, I loved the sequels and I’m going to love this remake.
Did you watch the review I literally talk about what didn’t work for this particular movie and referenced the comics. The story wasn’t well-structured, the villains were lackluster. They are marketing it as a reimagining of the comic book and it’s nothing like the comic. I described the elements that worked and what was inspired but it is essentially just a revenge story it’s not The Crow. Theres no metaphors, no acrobatics, no gothic landscapes and the supernatural elements are just used when it’s convenient. It’s not the Crow.
@@GothamGeekGirl well I’m sorry that you’re comparing it to the comics and the original, but it’s still The Crow. It’s a retelling. And you know what I love it. Because I’m a fan of anything that has to do with The Crow. I’m not one of you fans that are just so nitpicky that you have to dissect every little thing about a movie. Just enjoy it and enjoy it as a fan. Stop being so picky about everything.
@@Michael-uy2hv its my literal job to critique. I didn't do a straight comparison, they want to market it as The Crow and it's not. That's great that you enjoyed it. Film is subjective. @@Michael-uy2hv if they didn't want comparisons to the '94 Crow movie they shouldn't have named them Eric and Shelly. It's inevitable. If they gave them different names it would be just another entry in the universe but they didn't so here we are.

@mikelachey824 Rapid Fire is a great movie!
I appreciate your love of the ‘94 masterpiece. I was 13 when I saw it opening night and it profoundly changed my life. RIP Brandon Lee😔
It's a dumpster... but it rains... so the fire never got started resulting in a raw sewage bin...
Wasn't it O'Barr's fiancé that died in the car crash?
Correct

It's an attempt at the OG gothic masterpiece except it's created by Hot Topic.
Lmao I mentioned hot topic and Spotify twice. It completely lost the gothic vibe and gritty elements
Woke Hot Topic

Piss all over Bill Paxton with Twisters... check.
Anybody we forgetting?
Oh yeah..
Brandon Lee... ckeck.
Add in The Craft: Legacy.
I forgot this turd was coming out. This looks worse than Stairway and Highway🤢
This movie was from the comic book The Crow Wild Justice. This was a different Crow story. It is a different Crow story.
If they had made it about another crow it would have been decent
