Great review, what blade do you use for your miter saw?

Thank you - I use the 80 tooth tenryu for the miter saw almost exclusively. I switch to 72 tooth for cutting synthetics like trex, laminate flooring, or for framing materials.

I like ridge carbide blades. Have you use them?

I haven’t yet, I’ll check them out. Thanks!

Thank you for the information. I would like to try this Tenryu blade, but I am not sure if it is compatible with the riving knife in my table saw. If at all possible, would you mind sharing the measure for plate thickness on this blade? I have not been able to find it online so far. On another note, have you tried some of the Tenryu blades that are made in China? In case you have, have you noticed a difference in quality/performance compared to the one in this video?

Glad it was helpful. I measure .11” on my gold medal blades. I don’t us a riving knife on the tablesaw, however I also use these on my track saws with a riving knife with no problems, and do believe they’re slightly undersized from factory blades on those too. I have only used the Japanese made version. I imagine the Chinese made version is probably better than other Chinese made blades but not as nice as the Japanese. My blade sharpener has complemented me on these blades many times - says the carbide is top quality and a pleasure to work with, but also misses my regular visits since I started using them 😂

@@Wallymakesstuff It is thicker than what is recommended for the riving knife in my table saw, but I am still tempted to try it since the cost here in my country is very similar to the Tenryu blades made in China I have been looking at. Worst case scenario I´ll have to make a slightly thicker custom riving knife, I suppose. Thank you for the video and the additional help. With some luck I´ll make a local blade sharpener occasionally happy too hehe. Cheers.

Glad to help. See if the Amazon link I shared in the description works. It will help me a little bit if you use it. Thanks for tuning in.
