I have several with that same electric motor and what you need to do it put more oil on the front bushing shaft and let is settle in as you turn it. Next remove the back as you did and remove the 3 screws that hold on that white plastic thing with the gears you mentioned. Just move it aside so you can drop several drops into the shaft and bushing as you turn the shft to free it up. (That white plastic thing is the fan rotation mechanism. Don't let it scare you.) Sometimes they need further disassembly of the motor and cleaning of the bushings and more oil on the wick. Put more wick in the bushing housing to hold more oil for longer service interval! If the shaft is worn, you can feel it, it likely needs replacing and won't run well until you do, at a shop that services these cheap fans, depending what country you live in. I go to a guy and I have learned a lot standing around watching him work even though language is a barrier! Some things like more wick I figured out myself...I work on other people's fans to help keep them running and go to the shop when I run into a problem. Don't forget capacitors run down over time causing slow running fan. Good luck!

There's a screw in the back of the green outer part the back of it where you can't unscrew it and you'll be able to take it off

I'm 70 and have never seen a fan that needs lubricating.
In fact the fan manufacturer gives a lifetime warranty that their fan will never need oiling forever.

Things were made back in the day to last. Great for the consumer but the manufacturing companies realized it wasn’t so great for them because their products were lasting 30, 40, 50+ years which meant no one was buying their product for that long. Things for the last couple of decades have been made with incredibly cheap parts which end up with them breaking quickly and you have to buy another one. If you have older fans that are quality, keep them because the new stuff is junk. Any fan I have bought in the last 15 years only lasted about six years before issues with slow start ups or squealing started up. Fans several decades ago might have had a lifetime warranty but anything made in the last 25 years is only warranted for 3 years at the most. Keep your quality old fans!

Honestly I never thought fans needed that. We have an old fan and it was a wedding gift to my parents, was made all with metal and it's still the best fan we have had, I have purchased a brand new electric fan with a remote control and everything fancy but it just did exactly what the fan in the video did. So slow and barely a breeze. I almost wish we didn't give that old fan to my grandparents 😅. It was truly the best I don't remember the name but I believe it was a Japanese brand.

Worked wonderfully. However, I opened the works up to the inner bearings. There was fluff in the housing that I thought was dried grease or something. I picked it all out with a toothpick. After some consideration thought it might be packing, and that I should have left it in. I've reassembled and fan is working great. Time will tell.
    Thank you Sir!

Thank you. This worked great for me. I used 3-in-1 Oil on the blade shaft, as you've shown, and it got down to where it needed to be. I took things apart, just to be sure, and I'm happy to say I was able to put it back together without having "leftover" parts. 😄 Have a great day and thanks again.

Yeah, sometimes it doesn't help so much, or only helps for a little while. You might try removing the back cover and applying oil to the oil holes and spindle from there.
