  • If your fan has quit spinning or makes weird noises it could just be that you need to clean and oil it, this video will show you how.
    At the same time you can remove the accumulated dust and dirt from it, I didn't show that part of it in this video, just the re-greasing and oiling of it.
    Use any decent quality oil you have on hand and as always please unplug the unit before working on it, safety first:)
    Thank you for watching and please comment below if you have questions or you have tips to add because it will help the viewers too:)

    i have a question, is the capacitor bad or the winding bad, my fan spins like normal, spins up easily except its slower than the normal speed of a new one, fast is medium speed, medium is slow speed, slow is really slow but still spinning, i have had the fan for about 4 years, i run it almost 24/7, i add oil to the bushings every 3-4 month and hence am kinda confused as to what the issue might be. thks

      It could be the capacitor, it’s more likely the capacitor not the motor, the capacitor helps the motor start and run. The worst case scenario would be the motor windings, hence a new motor would be needed. Thank you for watching our video and good luck on your repair.

    Can I use WD 40 spray

    • @thisoldmobilehomeinthewood8434

      WD-40 Don’t have enough “body” to it to last, an oil with more body would last longer. Thank you for watching:) I thought I answered this a few months ago but I don’t see my response? UA-cam has away of dropping comments or not alerting me when they are posted:(

    What kind of oil and grease did you use?

    • @thisoldmobilehomeinthewood8434
      @thisoldmobilehomeinthewood8434  10 місяців тому

      We just used a light wheel bearing grease and some light machine oil, the kind that’s used to oil sewing machines, any kind of light grease will do:) Thank you for watching we really appreciate it.

      Appreciate your video. Explains very well. You used some spray in a can . Was that plain WD 40 or what was that. Sewing machine oil in a can?

      @@lindalanger5954 WD40 is too light, yea the stuff I used in the video is called Ballistol Multi-Purpose spray, it is a good lubricant with some body to it, but you can use any light oil that has some body to it. It was just what I had to use at the time. You can buy it on Amazon if you wish:)
