I really like Matthias. He is the most "neutral" noble in the story. While he apreciates what Rozemyne did for the entire duchy, he is not smitten with her like so many other nobles are. His motives are strongly focused on his own reality, rather than his wishes. Even when he finally took the plunge, it felt much more like "oh shit, Gerlach lost. I need to give my name before I am associated to his crimes." than "I choose to side with Rozemyne and against Georgine and accept the rist of being on the losing side." It almost makes me pity him when he needs to watch his actions when interacting with the more "leisegang" of Rozemyne's retainers.
You can really tell the writer's skill with how she manages the story's flow of time. Timeskips, for example, are something that tends to be glossed over in other LN, anime and manga.
Damiel was such a badass in that moment it’s a must read as Rozemyne realizes he is an actual knight who is more then willing to kill and cause of his people skills he is able to one up all the other knights there as they hesitate yet he pushes through them all for the kill.
I love the note that Hartmut specifically gives info on poison identification to Stenluk, not Angelica. I mean, yeah, he wasn't going to trust *her* to remember, it's just still funny that a sword is her brain. I've been binge-watching all these recap videos, and I'd just like to thank you for making them. The way you put everything really helps me focus on what's going on and how it all connects, and it's super funny.
This Volume was so important as things finally come to a head in Georgine's plans... Also it's sad how the nobility treats family here. Rozemyne will say over and over again how she would do the same thing as she's doing for Ferdinand for any of her family (or even her friends/retainers), but everyone wants to see them as a romantic couple even when that's not her intent.
Ngl, this feels so much like the author wants to shoehorn this so that we reader "feel ok" with it. Like the typical couple pushed together by ppl arround them, sometimes it works, but sometimes talking to them instead of pushing them together works better *sigh*
The point is Rosemyne flies around a lot so people would be used to seeing it. Him flying his own high beast basically screams he look it’s the Aub. This also explains a reason why he didn’t have his own high beast when he was a blue priest
Thanks to your videos I started reading light novels. Still only finished 2nd part I had fallen in love with Kazuki-sensei's writing. Thanks to your summaries I am more exited for following parts.
I really like the Matthias story. It shows him as observant and thoughtful, yes, but also calculating and more than a little cold. Like maybe Rozemyne shouldn't completely trust him. This makes his gratitude when he finally receives praise for once in his life all the more impactful.
Good conjecture on the feystone in cloth sent to Georgine... i didnt even think about that detail. I love hearing other people's thoughts on this amazing series
the next pert will be "Avatar of a Goddess" but of wich Goddess She has: dark blue hair, that people say looks like it's blessed by the God of darkness himself Golden eyes like they were blessed by the Goddess of light leans toward Schutzaria and can use all divine instruments
Woke up to a bunch of snow on the ground and then this gem uploads!! you sir are the GOAT! keep up the good work. P.S. ill admit i did try to go with other youtubers but their work isnt as polished as yours regarding this series. awesome work my man! keep it up!
A lot of things introduced in part 2 are resolved in this book: Shikza, Egmont, the other belligerent blue robes, etc. It's a bit rushed, but the temple has to be a perfect sanctuary (heh heh) for much of part 5 to hit right. And yeah, the "things that could be taken as romantic gestures if anyone was paying the least attention" just keep coming.
I read the pre-pub on Jnovelclub and every time i watch/listen to your recaps i am reminded how much is hinted at so many books in advance it really is a brilliantly crafted series
Always great to get a new part and see your thoughts on the series. :) One tiny note though, the feystone Gerlache broke wasn't for a devouring soldier, it was the one for Egmont, since he had served his purpose and was a loose end.
This was a very well constructed video with the highlights and lowlights put together very nicely. The comment of the Bible draining.. I had missed that part and why it was important but it was the key to her plans. I can’t believe I missed that part.
Same here! I've reread these books so many times, and it didn't occur to me about what happened to her mana😮 I believe it hasn't to Ferdinand either, with so much happening at such a rapid pace. Details seem to fall through the cracks. Trash T is awesome 👍🏾
This volume was sooo good :D I couldn't put it down - I wound up reading the entire volume in a single sitting... something I'm glad about given how soon this video arrived.
I’ve been looking forward to this to release since you usually release around the month mark. Thanks for putting the effort into these that you always do. I am constantly amazed at how much subtle information I miss somehow on my first read. Then you come along and I realize I need to reread them. Lol. 0:01
I can't wait for u to catch up and in the same time, i know it takes time and efforts so i want u to take ur time. I just need more bookworm-verse stories tbh, i wanna see more Royal stories even the first ever Zent and so on. I love this universe. (more duchies too, a Drewanchel one would be delightful with all their hard work improving their country) Anyway thanks for the video! I'll comment when i'm done to not spoil anyone waiting for this video and official release ^^
Does anyone else think that the blessing Rosemyne gave Ferdinand original purpose was to let off excess mana for those that were royalty or Aub? ie people who would have that much mana
I watch The chattering Magpies videos discussing the books but they don't really go into the details of what happens so I'm always so excited and happy when you give us a new Bookworm video!!
Yeah... I tried watching her a few times, but they drone on and on too much for me and don't go into the story... I left a comment saying as much and she replied that I should just buy the books... and I replied that poor folk can't buy books.
She has lets read video which she up for 24 hrs. And the original recape video is on her stream(i dont know the apps name) what she upload is just the edited version.
This would make a beautiful ending to a season 6 of the amine. And it would be a nice parallel to the ending of season 3.(Rozemyne leaving the LC to start a new life in the ND).
I started to get itchy and went to J-novel a few months back to get a heads up on the story. I really wanted an omnibus version of each part, but it was getting too expensive to read each volume. almost 100$+ for a full story is asking too much. Used to do that with shounen jump and some seinen titles, but the costs were higher than my cable bill
I legit look forwaRd to this! You do such a wonderful job recapturing what you read and summarizing it for us and I LOVE Your visuals ❤ thank you for doing those for us ❤
As always thanks Trash-Tier for these videos, if this playlist was a VHS I would have to worry about it wearing out, so much fun on the initial watch and also enjoyable to have in the background to see favorite moments. The side story "Out of Time" gets a lot of love and I feel it is deserved. It shows two young men struggling with a difficult choice, due in large part to guilty by association policy of the country, of having to hitch their wagons to one of two sides. Side with family even though you feel they are the guilty party or take possibly a bigger risk and side with the current archducal family with no safety net and be mistrusted even if they win. Events force their hand and they try to make the best of what they have for themselves and the others in their faction but they had not truly sorted through all their misgivings before fate moved up the timetable. To piggyback on your thoughts on Karstedt's defense of guilt by association the idea that it would be admitting a mistake is absolutely a piss poor defense and has in my estimation greatly contributed to the problem. Those related to a criminal have no reason not to be accomplices if they are going to be treated as accessories guilty of the same crime. To the point on Ferdinand's gift of the hair stick with the five rainbow feystones being misconstrued by noble society as a whole, I get more of a chuckle even with it's plot implications throughout part 5 so far. As much as Ferdinand prides himself on staying ahead in preparation and plots he has been forced to be reactionary with Rosemyne. The defensive charms he gave in the beginning of part 4 were due to the success of the poisoning plot at the end of part 3. Using Schwartz and Weiss magic circles to make more defensive charms was due to the situations Rosemyne got involved in her first year. The hair stick is a final tool of protection he can give as her guardian, using her comment about the stones be used as an accessory as inspiration, due to Rosemyne standing out far more than even his expectations, most likely drawing from his experience. Ferdinand does not like being reactionary, due to his drive of perfectionism, which explains the reaction when Leonore asks what to expect this coming school year since she believes he was being proactive. The whole "things that could be taken as romantic gestures if anyone was paying the least attention" is a interesting Rorschach test comparing how noble society as a whole sees thing vs Ferdinand and Rosemyne. Due to Ferdinand and Rosemyne sharing secrets and having been such a big part of each other lives for going on seven years now they have a implicit/familial trust that is unusual in noble society, and even when seen is almost exclusively for romantic partners though an argument could be made that some siblings have shown similar bonds. Ferdinand and Rosemyne are outliers in noble society as a whole when it comes to how they view socializing and how they interpret information in socializing events. Ferdinand can plot, manipulate, and dress up his intentions in euphemisms with the best but has never had a romantic connection before and before Rosemyne was probably even colder if the situation did not force him to go full "noble mask" mode, this is made more clear later in part 5. Rosemyne is even more of an outlier due to her brain trying to process noble society through the imperfect example of Ferdinand, trying to pick up euphemisms on the go through body language and context, and having to wrap her understanding in a way her Japanese base settings can compute.
SPOILERS MAYBE! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . To me, right now he isnt calculated yet, he's just so busy he can't take time to take a step back. He needs / wants her to be safe, out of guilt first then out of attachment, so he doesnt care if they say she received his charms from anyone else, as long as they make her safe. And since the mana from the charm wouldnt pose a problem, he didnt think much about it. But from anyone else's perpective, "they fuckin'" as a wise person once said. Also helps a lot she doesnt have any noble common sense and tbf even if she had, she wouldn't resist that much cuz.. she can't really say no to him? something like that

Praised be to Kazuki sensei!
Damiel was such a badass in that moment it’s a must read as Rozemyne realizes he is an actual knight who is more then willing to kill and cause of his people skills he is able to one up all the other knights there as they hesitate yet he pushes through them all for the kill.

Pfft, yeah Sylvester's three-headed high beast would really stand out, let's use Rozemyne's instead, it's the very soul of discreet.
To be fair if you sit inside it it might be harder to recognize the passengers where as the highbeast of the aub is a dead giveaway.
The point is Rosemyne flies around a lot so people would be used to seeing it. Him flying his own high beast basically screams he look it’s the Aub.
This also explains a reason why he didn’t have his own high beast when he was a blue priest

The farewell is just so beautiful, probably one of the most memorable scene in this story.
This deep dive into Honzuki is just wonderful.

Many look forward to, when you release, a new video
Thank you. I love you so much
Hey, long shot, but I figured if I asked, I might get an answer.
Are you ever going to get on to one of Magpi's chit-chats? I think it would be really interesting for the both of you to be in one video.
I've been on two of her videos for season 3 of the anime when it aired, you can check those out on her channel!
Last time the Detlinde was poisoned by Georgine, what was all that about? Thought It would get explanation, but she's clearly fine...
my volume just came in Ill be back afterI read it
and now Im back to enjoy the video
evolving form a bookworm
getting close to reaching where the LN currently is at, whats your plan with this series when that happens?
i love these videos because even though i have a good grasp on bookworms world through rereading them a couple of times as well as finding any bookworm content. You always manage to bring up a piece of information that i didnt think of before like for this one where did the mana in the bible go? I didnt even think of where it could've gone, i even thought they foiled georgines plan. i thought no one could out smart ferdinand yet here we are. cant wait for the next one!
Yyyyeeessss finally
So now the side stories book ;)
I wish I knew sooner it came out
?? When did this kingdom become Menzobaranzan?
one thing i would have done diffrent was just swap the fake poison bible for the real one again. If your lucky you're foe kills her self.
Are you doing the side story collection?
Do you time the videos to come out on Mynedays?
spot the non-pre-pub analysis :)
Are you doing bookworm video every month now 💝?
It was a good guess
5-1 NOW...please.
