I absolutely love the really realistic and yet very distinct designs of the various exos. Like with most real life military equipment for example if you conpera US and Russian tanks or planes, you can clearly see that they share the same purpose in their designs but they have a different design philosophy

I'm guessing the aliens are trading the mechs for cheep limestone to cause the world world chaos. Then when we basically killed off each other they are gonna come down and take the real valuable stuff

Agreed. This particular episode has been the most provoking so far. We don't even know is he reaches the surface before aupaxia happens to the diver. The story makers are VISABLY CANNY by not introducing the aliens.

Feels like Obsolete is more of a collection of short stories at this point. I wonder when we'll get more on Zaheer and Reshep vs. the Marines? Maybe episodes 10 and 11 are foreshadowing for characters who will be important in the future?
An easily missed detail here is that this episode takes place 7 years after episode 1, strongly implying the marines have not been successful in preventing the spread of Exoframes.
Spoiler caution!! I felt some strangeness about voice of Frayja sounding so clear, the space where she should be. OMG, all foreshadowings come together at last. This episode implies the interference toward our mentalism. What do you make of that, Freyja?

I just wanted to know if anyone knows if they are going to continue making this series. I truly want to see more of Obsolete I have watched the Obsolete series again & again. It is truly amazing & is one of the best storylines I have ever seen. This series would always be the closest to me. .
Now we went into the creepy zone whether she's a side effect of exoframe operation or the man just certifiably insane. Really nice to see plausible underwater combat here. Flying EXOs when?
im not a fan of the idea of having flying exos in the series. it reminds me too much of gundam where the mobile suits look for any excuse not to use the legs they were made with. this series is much more "boots in the ground" for lack of a batter phrase. keep the flying to the copters and jets.
they're just fixing communication lines underwater no? i find it more plausible that perhaps Yan is a government plant sent there to not only fix those lines but gather informaiton, and perhaps even fight the russian saboteurs, and that freyja is just his handler/wife, notice how the operators on ship know nothing about it and dont communicate to him anything about russian exoframes or anything.
What if the exoframes are able to store human consciousness as a form of a "cache" like your browser history. In one of the episodes, one of the pilots said that it takes a while to get used to the controls when these exoframes uses a extension of human consciousness. Would this mean that if a different pilot use a exoframe from a recently deceased pilot, will he/she inherit their memories?

thats not at all whats happening, it was he would of only done it once cause he would be stuck for days in a pressure chamber or die from the bends, nitrogen forming gas bubbles in your blood. no i bet the point is its such a powerful reminder that it truelly does bring her back to him if it really is only for him, its like when you get major dajavi but this is one thats purposful and actually assist his mental state.
I get that translation and dubbing is probably hard, so it would seem since so much dialogue in these animes is incoherent - but what is keeping them from changing "but the timing!" to "it is too close to you!"? I guess it comes down to lack of agency afforded to the voice actors and other contributors along the production pipeline.
beautiful episode. Reminds me of an old Manga "2001 Nights". ( several unreltated short stories, that later tied all together) Personally I think many of you are looking too deep into the mind melding of EXO, and Yan. He misses his deceased wife/lover, and he has not let her go. I also firmly believe that he is simply talking to himself, switching between his "these are facts" based voice/consciencenous( his normal person) and "this is a question/emotional based" base of thought/voice. ( which he has kept in the persona as Frejya. Much like you are doing something and one voice is proud...then you notice a problem, and your inner voice changes.

いやオチがそう来るか！ただの海底での静かな戦闘では終わらせず一発盛り込んでくるの上手いなぁ！

他作品だと、その超技術を逆に利用して元凶に復讐する…って陳腐なテンプレがありますけどね。本作品では特に危害を加えられてないから復讐という意思も希薄です。超技術といっても地べたを這うだけなので、軌道上に行くことも出来ないし、時空をゆがめて敵？の本拠地へという展開もなさそう…。

What if the exoframes are able to store human consciousness as a form of a "cache" like your browser history.
In one of the episodes, one of the pilots said that it takes a while to get used to the controls when these exoframes uses a extension of human consciousness. Would this mean that if a different pilot use a exoframe from a recently deceased pilot, will he/she inherit their memories?

This episode reminded me of one of the chapters in World War Z about the downed pilot. Really nice.

最初の場面からフレヤはいなかったのかな？フレヤに対してオペレーターが反応していなかったし。
見返してみたら外殻圧をフレアがチェックなどしてたが物理的に操縦桿やコンソール弄ってる描写なかったし、けどエグゾは思考で動く、ヤンの中にあるフレアをエグゾが感知なり観測出来れば現実は1人でもエグゾには2人が操縦してることになる
エグゾ2人も乗れるんか小さくね？って思ったらイザナギの話で「あれ？」って思った

確かに甲板に２人はいたけど、一緒に乗り込む描写は無いし、エグゾに乗っているのと同じようにヤンがエグゾを見ているというエグゾに関わりを持っている状況から、その時点ですでにフレアはヤンの幻覚だった可能性があるし…
常にエグゾに乗り込む前にフレアと最後に一緒にいたときをヤンの意識の中で繰り返しているのかも…
今回は不思議な話だったね

@@janlim0916 these things likely have the sonar signiture of a whale it would be way to easy to find an exo under water as usually the writiers have no idea what they are doing
@@koc988 The EXOFRAMEs armor could also reduce their sonar signature you know...

Este episódio foi muito bom. A relação do Jan com sua falecida esposa advindo da perda dela é interessante. É tipo um transtorno de personalidade que o Jan desenvolveu, fazendo dele um excelente operador.

also i love the use of torpedoes as weapons. no guns for combat under water.
There is a needle shooter that is used for anti people stuff, but maybe mini torpedo guns could work too.
@@yelectric1893 yup the Russians made the first successful underwater gun so it doesn't surprise me that they also came up with underwater combat for these things
@@victormontes7007 yep, They made Spp-1,aps underwater rifle,ads amphibious rifle. I'm not sure if those can be upscaled for exos.

thats not at all whats happening, it was he would of only done it once cause he would be stuck for days in a pressure chamber or die from the bends, nitrogen forming gas bubbles in your blood. no i bet the point is its such a powerful reminder that it truelly does bring her back to him if it really is only for him, its like when you get major dajavi but this is one thats purposful and actually assist his mental state.
I'm glad i found Obsolete, this anime serie is the best thing on my UA-cam recommendation in 2020, this made this year better for me.

I get that translation and dubbing is probably hard, so it would seem since so much dialogue in these animes is incoherent - but what is keeping them from changing "but the timing!" to "it is too close to you!"? I guess it comes down to lack of agency afforded to the voice actors and other contributors along the production pipeline.
The russian dub is good though. Could have been worse.
Best choice is just use the original japanese dub with English subtitles
beautiful episode. Reminds me of an old Manga "2001 Nights". ( several unreltated short stories, that later tied all together)
Personally I think many of you are looking too deep into the mind melding of EXO, and Yan. He misses his deceased wife/lover, and he has not let her go.
I also firmly believe that he is simply talking to himself, switching between his "these are facts" based voice/consciencenous( his normal person) and "this is a question/emotional based" base of thought/voice. ( which he has kept in the persona as Frejya.
Much like you are doing something and one voice is proud...then you notice a problem, and your inner voice changes.
