Maybe when swapping from map to in game camera view you could try to always face north and that would allow better continuity so we can situate what is going on easier.
I really enjoyed the strategic breakdown of the match. you did a fantastic job explaining how the teams succeeded or failed in controlling the map. As an SL in squad I cant tell you how unloved the strategic side of squad is. It's the part of the game that really sets if apart from other shooters. I'm glad you shed light on how to play the game from a squad leaders mindset. I hope you continue this series!
Absolutely loved this match analysis and it was FANTASTIC to see you focus solely on the map rather than the sky cam gameplay, please please do more this super entertaining!
This was really helpful, I've watched several of your videos and have learned so much, I'm relatively new to Squad with only a 100 hours in it and have been trying to become an effective squad lead, the videos in which you explain factions has greatly helped me in changing my playstyle depending on what faction I'm playing, so I just wanted to give you my thanks.
I was in that match, part of RGF pushing the north lane early on. What you said about PLA squad 5 was spot on, having a squad wreak havoc on your back lines is a major issue to deal with. You constantly have to worry about losing habs which forces you to reallocate resources to counter them. A good squad in the back lines can do a lot more damage than if they were grinding it out on the front lines with the blueberries.
Its a very good idea using the maps to show positioning as you describe the 'hows and whys'. It might be useful to say 'Red Team' and 'Blue Team' or similar as it was tricky to remember who was who. More use of a sped-up view of the symbols moving around the map could be useful as well. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Great job condensing Squad match to 16 minutes. Some parts felt a little too fast for me when looking at the map, but the guided anysis was top notch. Appreciate the editing as well.
It'd take like an hour, but it'd be cool to film the map the entire time, then play it back in fast motion and you could see the big strategy at play and how effective spawn points/flanks are. Nice vid.
Cool series, I think there is no dead end ever for it. Can just take any well played match and be an analytical game announcer for it. Having dozens of differently playing factions will bring a new dimension to how battles vary as well. This length of video is about right for a more summarized way of looking at the match
Loved the video. I feel like your format is totally unique (putting heavy emphasis on a map and strategical aspect) and you should absolutely stick to it, that makes you special from other eye in the sky videos you got it!
Really cool video! I would love to see this format going forward. I struggle to read the map sometimes, but the way you break down tactics is cool to see. As for the match, it really feels like a match of squad where the russians just seemed to have way more guys than the PLA ever did? Like, the russians had two squads north of the river, defence on orchard, a mortar fob, a deep south flank, and more, but the PLA seemed to struggle to get more than a few players on any given task. It's weird how that happens
Thanks so much! The PLA’s guys were all crammed in and around radio station, while RGF was more spread out. It counts for a lot to be spread out. Also, my icons are big because I play in 4K so some player icons might be hidden by others
Everyone forgets mortars on small maps like this, they are so OP is insane. When I do it I get like 20/40 kills and f up a hab or 2, + the smoke to push, is insanely OP if you know how to use em.
Slightly off topic as much as I love the grand scale of squad I miss playing on some the smaller scale more infantry focused maps like chora I feel like with the new map voting system I only ever play the same few maps and they're almost always the big ones.
Great this and eye and the sky is great. Is there a reply system in Squad? It would be nice to see a "IMBA or do I suck" type review players can send in as well...like a "how did we lose" video lol
Do you think the PLAs fob placement hurt them in the long run as well? I’m typically opposed to having fobs and radios directly on point. Sometimes you dont have a choice and have to. Curious to see what your thoughts are.
I really like this format, but I think it would be better if you let us see the match actually play out a little more. The constant jumps to what other units are doing is jarring and makes it difficult to see the match as a whole. I would love to see more though!
9:02 I actually disagree with this stance. Building HABs tend to funnel through one exit and also are easier to proxy. Sometimes they are better but I think the majority of the time you want HABs outside
Is spectating reserved for admins at all? I’d love to watch a full match like this as a way to learn map control concepts quicker but there doesn’t seem to be an option anywhere
Most likely, TT (Tactical Triggernometry). I recognize a couple regulars from the server: [TWS] VKNG | Wolf, [TWS] Veech, Chrisweb, Dirgenator, players from the SZ clan, 9A guys like Niner seen in command chat, and a couple more I’m probably missing.
Man I wish I thought the game was like this the way you do bro. This game is never “tactical” or “realistic” except for like that one larping clan squad. Like this video is good bud will never work in practice because people don’t like it when you tell them to do something, they only like telling YOU what to do. Most of the time you’ll just be running around or towards point hoping you dont get domed by some guy hiding in a bush
@@superduper3722 This was recorded on TT, it's nothing like it used to be, but prime time US it's leagues above anything you'll find anywhere else. There's a difference between larping and citing infantry manuals in a game with a magical respawn teleport network AND discussing and critiqueing tactics employed by players with thousands of hours of experience.
@@guidantyt Yuh huh. I bet those manuals were found somewhere deep in an Arma 3 manual. Also like I said. Those "players with thousands of hours of blah blah blah" its like one server, that plays like once or twice a week and even then this was planned and evented I bet, or one squad that does all of the heavy lifting while the other 7-8 squads play Call of Duty.
@@guidantyt And if you're citing "Magical respawn teleporting" then why tf are you bringing up "Infantry manuals" if you can just magically respawn out of the air. So is it realistic or not.
Great video just wish we had a little more footage of the actual combat and plays unfolding
Definitely working on it. Got to find a balance between gameplay and map analysis
@@Monifans Couldn't the replay feature be of use? If only there was a server-sided option...
@@punishedkid I’ve never used that so I wouldn’t know but if I could just replay the match that would do wonders for the video
