Definitely getting a color...but let me tell you all... I used to plastidip all my wheels black before this company or before it was cool to every car I owned. B I G • T I P S • #1. Don’t be lazy...remove your wheels so you don’t have to do the silly brake covering thing & so that you don’t have any accidental spray onto your actual car paint! #2. Don’t worry about this extra kit...use a bunch of notecards from when you used to be in school or something and slip them in line all around your rim (protects the tires) #3. Put a tarp or something under your wheels or the car if you’re painting at your house, stuff will spray everywhere haha. #4. Use SEVERAL coats and wait for each to dry individually before trying another coat. That is all 👍🏻

I've done may rims over the years using either cards or something else to mask off the tire. Finally used dip release for the first yesterday while doing 4 rims at once and it made life so much easier to remove the dip from the tire. I'm kicking myself for not using dip release earlier.

I was nervous at first because I have never did it, but it turned out great I also got some spray on a area where the bag was open but I just scrubbed it off so you have nothing to worry about if you do get some on your rotors. I suggest washing car by hand and cleaning tires with tire shine and i used just a bit of tire shine on the rims to make them shine and it looks great

Did this to my 99 accord. Bought it with rusted up rims and this made it look like 100000 times better. I know that it's probably not a good idea to plasti dip things that are rusted or peeling but this car looked so much like shit, that anything would make it look better. Now I'm planning on buying some more plasti dip and doing my 2012 Chargers rims tomorrow :) All white charger with black rims, spoiler, grill, and lights would look awesome in my opinion. I figure if it lasts a year it was well worth the few hours I spent on the wheels. I also did my hood scoop and it looked terrible (all due to user error) So I peeled the dip off in less than 5 minutes and did it again. It looks pretty damned good now. Figure every year or so I will go with a different color. Glad I did this.

Great vid i wish you made a full length A to Z video on dipping the whole car. I dipped mines a few times always seem to get the roof dipped wrong. The door jams are not a big deal but the seems between the rubber edge n the body of the car a problem. My last dip was the alien GC47 and after i dipped the car matte black i taped up the roof to leave it black then did the alien dip. Since i had 2 let it dry to put on the alien dip i didnt open the doors and the masking around the door rubbers seems dried againts it. Removing the masking was a pain because edges where being ruined. I also had a few notisible lines on the hood. I would just like a full lenth video showing the whole process for reg dip and another for advanced dipping jobs. I found that my mixture for the alien dip had tooo much pearl for the amount of gloss n clear gal. At the end the bottom of the hoper was like over sugared coffee.

I took all four wheels off the car though

No issues painting with the wheels off, then mounting right? When I asked they insisted that I paint with the wheels on. I'm thinking it's easier with wheels off

Follow Fonzie's advice. So the 5 light coats and it will come out perfect. Do not do the 3-4 coats as it indicates on the can. Did my Mercedes-Benz E-350 and it looks bad ass. Thx for the great video Fonzie.

peal and respray otherwise you'll have a noticeable amount of pitting from the previous wheel trauma.

Hello Fronzie, thanks for your guide on doing the plasti dip wheels. That looks really sick. I've a few questions
    1. If we are not able to remove it from the tires at the end, does it harm tires? What is the downside of leaving it on the tires?
    2. For it to be easy to remove later, apart from applying more coats, shall I do anything additional while applying the dip?
    Thanks again!

My wheel kit arrived today. My Vinyl wrap is still in the tube. Not going to bother with that anymore. Once I found plasti dip I was over the vinyl wrap sticker nonsense. Might be good for some things but not wheels imo. Bought the Burnt Copper wheel kit and Real Red for my calipers (of course) Its my first caliper job ever so im allowed to use Red ffs. So don't bother hating on me for that. I don't care lol. Im off to do the job. Thanks for the video.

To all youtube viewers and subscribers, i am planning on plastidipping my wheels black. and want to shine them with the plasti glossifier. the thing is, i want to sdd a yellow wheel stripe after plasti dipping them black. then glossifier it after applying the sticker. is that possible? any issuses?
    Simpler explanation:
    1)dip wheels black
2)(let dip dry) then add a yellow wheel stripe
    3) spray glossifier over everthing
    Doable? please let me know

Oliver Rolle yes it's doable. I would after you finish all coats of your black plasti dip then wait about 20-30 min. Mask around where you want your wheel stripe then paint your wheel stripe. Wait to dry remove masking apply gloss
