    Stripping my car down to wrap at the moment, finding videos like this explaining how to take every little trim off is invaluable! Thank you so much!

    Finding folks like you to work on their car is a rare deal nowadays. You take your time to do the job right where others blaze through the job and damage the car or have leaks.

    Excellent video, very informative and very well done. I just took my BMW 328i into the dealer to have the glass replaced, I plan to pick it up tomorrow. I just hope they do as well as you did, if I would have lived close to you I would have definitely brought my business to your shop.

    Thanks, great video and thorough explanation. I did remove the windshield from the donor vehicle and installed it onto mine. Not a hard job to do, but a LOT of patience required. The most difficult job for me was to apply the new top molding onto the windshield before gluing :)

    Hey mate just an option in regards to the cowling, ive started to take the hard plate section off as well.so that when you put the cowling on you dont have to worry about it sliding into the right spot because you can put the pinch weld mould on with ease once the cowling is in place. It may take a minute or two more to take the extra plate off and side plastic covers off but itll make putting the cowling on less painful. Hope this helps other fitters.

    Thanks for a great video. I am on the East coast otherwise I would bring my X5 over to you to replace the rear glass. I have watched all your videos and great tips for me to do it. I already prepped 80% of the work already on the pinch weld area. Waiting for BMW to ship me the glass and the BMW adhesive kit. I do have a question on the pinch weld. I already shaved the old urethane down to a thin ~1mm thickness. Some area I removed too much and I see the factory paint surface. Can I apply BetaPrime on the bare paint surface. The rear is relatively easier then the front plus I can use the wiper shaft hole has alignment assistance plus BMW has depth bumpers. Thanks for all the great videos and I really like how you keep your shop so neat.

    If I saw correctly, you used the DOW Express BP urethane. I've owned my auto glass shop for 5 years now. I do all the installs personally with one employee. When I prime the glass, I use the included frit primers in the kit as I was told by DOW, you have to use them with the express BP....yet you didn't use it. Are you saying you don't need to use the green frit primer sticks with the express BP????? Thanks. Great video by the way.

      I also use the green glass primer but on this video I used the 5504g all in one primer that could be applied on the glass as well. The difference is the flash time. The green primer takes 6 minutes to flash vs the 5504G only takes 2 minutes. Since I was trying to save some time I used the 5504G. Thank you for taking the time to watch my video.

    Brother I just bought a bmw 335i and the guy before me put black adhesive glue under the windshield so the trim doesn't seat perfectly the bottom like that and the top. So I've been scrapping like crazy taking the adhesive out. I don't know what else to do, any ideas to clean those areas would help. I bought it's cheap now, restoring car to it's former glory

      When setting the glass yes you definitely want to have the hood open. It gives you a better clearance. Thank you for taking the time to watch my video.

    Is all this the same for a 2011 BMW 328i sedan and if so do you know where I can get the drip molding clips and what the part number of them would be?

    Hi excellent video. I had my windshield replaced recently, same car as in this video. I am wondering if the moulding or sealing strip that goes on the bottom length of the glass and the cowl attaches to can be replaced without removing the glass? The one they used is about 16" too short so my cowl is loose on the ends now. As well as my rain sensor not working.

    • @AlfredosAutoGlassRepairCorona
      @AlfredosAutoGlassRepairCorona  4 роки тому

      hockeymike12 sorry to hear this. Unfortunately the bottom molding gets glued in when we are setting the glass in to the glue. You might get away by removing the cowling and adding urethane to the bottom molding let it dry then reinstall the cowling. The rain sensor try reinstalling it.

    nice work just curious how come you don't use the WRD spider to remove the windshield on this BMW . Was that spider didn't work well?

      Thank you, I been ask from my followers if I could do a video using the cold knife and the Express(Ambush) tool to remove the glass, with out creating body damage so I pick this car to demonstrate a safe quality installation using different tools. This cut out could definitely be done with a wire or fiber line cut out System.

      people told me the fiber line not that good is it true.

    Alfredo if you are able to make a short video on how to re-glue the condensation sensor i bet it would get a lot of views everybody asks the same question i been looking for a video on this issue for so long the question is what adhesive to use and how to apply properly so it doesn't interfere with the sensor it if you can show us that would be great thanks

    I. curious why no primer was used on eurethane of body and just glass only. this in Europe is poor practice. as u know the primer is am activater for the glue. no primer the glue will eventually break down from the body causing all sorts of problems.

    • @AlfredosAutoGlassRepairCorona
      @AlfredosAutoGlassRepairCorona  7 років тому

      Rodney Porter. I see you are not familiar with DOW AUTOMOTIVE products. Best bonding chain is rubber to rubber, freshly cut Urethane is porous so it allows the molecules to bond better with less coats of chemicals in between.

    • @rodneyporter3320
      @rodneyporter3320 7 років тому

      Alfredo's Auto Glass Repair Corona yes we use Dow products last 15yra or so.we have down many test in Europe with primers on glass ,no glass ,primers on body and no body. we have done loads of tests witch all available on auto glass website. where we have done front end smashes with front air bags going off. and the ones witch have not been primed have been the most dangerous. if u didn't prime glass or body in the best of belron world wide competition. u would fail that job. as u know.
      don't think I'm being a smart ass.
      as u are a really good fitter.ive been fitting for the biggest company in the world over 30yrs.witch do massive checks with all Dow products. and If I never put primer on. it would be instant dismissal.i would be more than happy to send u the gruesome carnage vids.what no primer does to glass and body does.
