Susan Cowsill, playing an offbeat on the tambourine, had a greater amount of musical acumen at age 8 than most adult pop stars of today’s music world.
Susan Cowsill is great, and she grew up to be a very nice person. Not an easy thing for a child in a showbiz career.
Es excelente 😊
She has no rhythm. She's like a trained monkey just going through the motions.
Do you feel important when you post such nonsensical garbage here?
I tell you what, I’d rather watch this all day than anything by Beyoncé, Rhianna or any other Big name acts super show. It’s about the music and the people who make it.
i love this raw "live" version. It displays their true talent.
hola q bueno q le gusto usernj4rc
John was a prodigy. To play drums and sing those backup parts like those is no easy feat. Even for mature drummers.
This was refreshing to see. Most were lip synced to a backing track.
@@vc9743this was from the Ed Sullivan show and most all of the guest performances were taped live, hence so many things going down on his show. For instance Jim Morrison promising not to say girl we couldn’t get much higher when he sang light my fire, then singing it anyway just to spite Ed. Needless to say the Doors contract with Ed was tore up.
I miss the harp! It added so much.
This ladies and gentlemen, is the real deal, played and sung live!
Right? None of that voice changing machines to make them sound better.
Every once in a while I come back to this song when I need a reason to smile.
This one and "Good morning Starshine" by: Oliver.
Isn't that the truth of it all. Puts tears in my eyes. Brings out the unjaded, simpler truth of my existence.
This is my favorite Cowsills song when I was a kid in the 60s. It's still my favorite.
This song evokes happiness. Well, it was the 60s of flower power, and hippies.
flower children
im hip
Yep, the happy 60's, or so they want it remembered that way. Fact is the country was burning then, like its doing now.

Yea, there are some bad memories that do stick out in my mind about the 60s but let's not dwell on them. The group and song are beautiful and innocent as youth was then.
@petrslivinski7481 How I would love to go back to the 60s,, sure it had it's share of problems but not like today.
This song is the perfect example of the kind of bubblegum pop coming out in 1967. Definately a catchy tune and The Cowsills are still performing today.
And putting out new music.
And with a psychedelic touch to go with it !
I can't help but think of the Partridge family when watching this, except this music is real.
The harmonies, the costumes, the chemistry is absolute perfection.!
The drummer !!!!!!!!!!
Susan could sure groove, definitely feeling the music so very cute 🥰
And she was only 7 at the time.
One of the very best 'feel good' songs ever. Nicely performed.
you took the words right out of my mouth
They nailed it.Yea it is a "TV" mix but all the vocals were there! great to see and hear this!
I wish they hadn't left the second verse out of this performance.
Thank you Cowsills for the great memories.
How could you not want to be in love when hearing this?
It's magic
This is the real Partridge Family
But sadly, these youths experienced terrible abuse and manipulation at the hands of their father who spent all their earnings

Eso que es. Porque dices eso
Que raro
Transcendental live performance. Just wow. The vocals, the harmonies, the drumplay, the CHARISMA the entire group. Too bad their dad fukked it all up.
Their dad manager went off on a producer of the Ed Sullivan show, not knowing he was a relative of Sullivan, and several contracted performances were dropped. They were left with only one, due to his temper and inappropriate behavior.
I hade the hugest crush on Susan Cowsill back then. Still do. Before you call me a creep - hey - she was only 9! But so was I! (She's actually a month older than me.)
I love the Flower Girl!!! :
She would be an much "older" woman for me! She is adorable in this!
I had a Major crush on Susan Myself and that was my first love because I was also nine years old I wasn't a creep because I was the same age but it put lead in my pencil but I didn't know why
This video was made before I got to my first birthday...
The Cowsills were the Inspiration for The television series The Partridge Family
The Cowsill family passed on the offer. TV producers wanted to use the Cowsill kids but not Barbara.
And a good thing what would the world be without a famous Danny Donaduce? 😂
@@mattphillips2844 and david cassidy of course
@@mattphillips2844.. *BONADUCE 😉
These kids WILL FOREVER ROCK! What a star little Susan is!
One my all-time favorites from 1967. I was 11.
Me too!
I was eleven too.
This song was one of my favs and even now IS one of my favs.👏
Me too!
Eu também, ainda hoje ouço essa música! Maravilhosas lembranças!👏👏👏
Same
Talent. Pure talent.
Don't know about all their past troubles but if this 1 tune was my gift to the world I'd die happy....
Gives me chills every time I hear this. It was my first album I talked my mom into buying for me .
The Rain, the Park & Other Things" is a pop song with music and lyrics co-written by Artie Kornfeld and Steve Duboff. It was recorded by the pop band the Cowsills, and included on their 1967 self-titled debut album. Released as a single, the song reached No. 2 on the Billboard charts. It was kept from the No. 1 spot by "Daydream Believer" by the Monkees. The single cemented the group's international popularity and sold some three million copies over the years. It ties with 1969's "Hair" as the group's biggest hit, as both reached No. 2 in the US. In Canada, "The Rain, the Park & Other Things" reached No. 1 on the RPM singles chart.
The little drummer so cute! and talented!
One of those songs with meaningful lyrics, and well pronounced words that is easy to understand. Many of today's songs are mumblings only, and hard to understand. Besides it is a happy song, with good rhythm, and really worth lo listen.
What a wonderful family band. And a great song to boot.
We encountered them at a resort in North Carolina. We had a house there near the beach. I recall playing in the sand with my brother and the younger siblings. The older boys of course were chasing after the girls, which we young kids thought was silly. We also played with Loretta Lynn's kids when she performed there as well.
Barry Cowsill playing bass guitar (in the front center) is the one that died during hurricane Katrina in 2005 in New Oleans. He was 50 years old.
Didn't know this. RIP, Barry, and all the others lost in that tragic event.
I liked it a lot when I heard it on my am radio in 1967. Over they years with the internet I listen to a few times of year. Such a happy, optimistic, simple, and poppy song which I now love .
Great drummer !
He drums for the Beach Boys now !!! ,,, Amazing drummer indeed !!!
I really like it when they do it live. Talented group. Great drummer
Excellent group which deserved a lot more praise than they got and seems to have been forgotten in the annals of rock music.
what a great refreshing song!
i cant believe how great this song is , performed live!
My junior year in high school. The best year of my life.
They still sound amazing to this day
When America was Great.

I’ve seen other versions but in this one the drums really stand out. Even a little twirl in there. Excellent music 😅
Surprising how solid of a drummer that kid was at such a young age.
Me lembrou o seriado dos início dos anos 70 "Família DO RÉ Mi"....
The sound problem one of this song from the cowsills on Ed Sullivan is the best version mistakes and all. The Cowsills drummer brother shines in that version
That’s John. He went on the play drums for The Beach Boys.
I was blessed to see the Cowsills in Birmingham Alabama at the Shower of Stars in 1969 and was thrilled about what a beautiful family band. Little Susan was already a star way back then 😊❤
Decatur alabama here 86 miles north of bham - always loved the cowsills but I was only 8 and too young to see them at that show. I'm envious!
Great live version. They were very talented.
Man ,that song was really feelgood song Love the 60s
Love the Cowsills! Still have my live album and this song on 45! The difference then was they could perform live, no artist now does that ( tay tay probably)
AWESOME SONG...
Wow....The Cowsill were a special Band for me in the 60s
Nice song that makes me feel 21 again, it is still very good to listen
Takes me back, reminds me of my girlfriend diane in 8th grade, great song and times!!!!!

❤ sad story about this band
feel good song
I remember when this group started. Groundbreaking talent♥️
You're not foolin anyone. that's the Partridge Family. :)
Beatiful .. song very talented kids
I always love that song😊
this is live version magic
Having your mum in the band ,,must've really cramped your style,
Good dancing for little Susan
Give it up for Susan Cowsill, not sure how old she is in this clip but she got every beat change on the tambourine perfectly timed. Plus the groovey 60's dancing at the same time.
It should have been a hit in the UK; gone to number 1
Their mother is a beast
This is your happy place song.
I love everything about this sweet song ❤️❤️❤️
Such a talented family!
Tenía 6 años cuándo salió esa canción, ahora que tengo 62 me trae grandes recuerdos de mi infancia, gracias por compartir tan bella melodía.
Saludos desde Costa Rica.
Excelente yo nací en 1960 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊😊😊
Tragic story for such a talented young group
Never thought we would get old!😂
Thank you!!! The ones that are still with us continue to entertain and do a great job of it!!
It was the way of happiness back in the day, now it keeps the good mood alive!
Susan is so cute!
Iconic in 1967 .. lots of AM radio play

This is such a good song! The chorus hooks you and won't let you go!
No lip sync I like it
Beautiful

Totally love ❤️ this song 🎵 ready to put a flower 🌺 in my hair Far Out
A very good song performed live....I am very impressed with the quality....excellent post!!
My favorite song when I was in 7th grade. Great harmonies.
Crazy good performance for a relatively tough song to make sound good! I wonder how they got Ed Sullivan to let them play live? Wow.
Yo la viví a esa época!!!
Linda cancion
Susan you still Rock. I met her in 2016.❤
