For 35€ you could even buy a couple of them since, unlike the color, the battery is easy and fast to swap.

I think this is the big brain move. Unless you can get the containers super cheap. But i would maybe only limit it to 2 or 3. Don't want to leave one unattended for too long. Might seize up. But having the background and a fill on hand would probably be good enough.

Agreed. Premix your colors in multiple cups and see if theres a jar top that fits on them, then have 2 additional cups with water. your dirty water for first rinse, and second for final clean and spray out to clear previous color. I also wonder if theres a fluid/air adjustment for gradient spraying
      like automotive guns.

The thing you got to "filter" the paint with is actually a viscosity meter. You time it for the cup to drain and then thin or thicken the paint according to what viscosity you want.

It will fix all the sputtering. Filter the paint into a bucket, then thin it roughly, then use the viscosity tool that verify thickness.

Just as a heads up you are useing the ladle/funnel piece incorrectly after adding water to your paint it is used to measure how thin your paint is there is a certain amount of seconds it take to empty...if its too thin the water drips down the wall and if it is too thick you will clog the sprayer

A fantastic idea for street art! Definitely needs to have multiple containers for multiple colors and another container for water. The adjustable pressure on the trigger is a very cool feature. Probably best use for this would be for the bulk of the work (backgrounds, outlines, fills, erasing, larger/ rough details) and cans for the more finely detailed stuff.
TL;DR: I have a few pointers on how these sprayers work and how to maintain them from years of using them. I suggest getting a supplemental portable power source.
How these sorts of sprayers work: They are still pneumatic (air powered) however instead of having to be hooked up to a separate compressor, it has a small one built in. That's why it's so loud. The compressed air is then split into two areas: the color container and the atomizers. By forcing air into the container, it pushes the color into the little tube and out the center part of the nozzle. The atomizers are those "plastic thingies" mentioned at 5:20. They force the air towards the mist of color, flattening it out to the opposite axis from the atomizers. If they're pointed left and right the color will spread up and down and vise versa. By blocking the flow of air to these, you get the dot nozzle. This give you the three nozzle patterns described at 9:56.
Filtering your colors is a very good practice, but it's a preparatory step you should do before you arrive on site. If you use multiple containers, prep them before you head out. This means filtering and watering down so they spray right. Also, if you forget to clean out your sprayer after a job, and the paint dries in it, use acetone instead of water to break down the dried paint. Then rinse with water like normal.
Source: I have a spray gun that uses a separate compressor. I have used it over the years for applying a weather-proof coating to decking and out-door furniture, painting a fence, and even spraying glaze onto ceramic pieces. For that last one, filtering is mandatory because of the particle sizes involved. Always clean your tool after use ;)
If you don't already have one, a portable power bank would work well for the equipment we see you use. Also, maybe, depending on how sunny it is in Slovakia, you might get a solar powered generator (a portable solar panel and a power bank). You can top up your other batteries while working. It could also charge phones and camera equipment. This depends on how much you use the sprayer, how quick your batteries drain, and how much you'd be willing to spend. A power bank runs ~$300 US and a solar generator set runs from $500 - $2000 US. They also make really small ones just for charging something via USB.

    Hey Doke, cool video.
About the need for a respirator... the colours in spraycans are combined with volatile solvents, and atomized into very small droplets. Both are hazardous for your lungs, and health.
The wallpaint lacks those volatile solvents, but the gun still atomizes the paint. Painting outdoors should be fine.
For anyone spraying in closed doors, I'd recommend a cloth like a bandanna around nose and mouth.

    • @clarencenolin6660
      @clarencenolin6660 2 роки тому +3

aparently, the waterbased paint is even worse than spray paint in a gun because its go into your body easily since your body is also waterbased

    • @MrDuLukes
      @MrDuLukes 2 роки тому +3

      @@clarencenolin6660 yes and no.
waterbased paint stays longer in your body, and mixes well with your cells, since it is both waterbased, but it has no harmfull fumes.
Waterbased paint is better for the enviroment.
Solvent based paint and it's components range in terms of harmfullness to your body quite a lot.
The fumes of spraypaint is rather shortterm, but inhaling them constantly leads to more serious healthissues.
Either way, you don't want to inhale the droplets, they will mess up your lungs longterm.

I personally use the Graco UltraMax for small spray painting jobs, they sell seperate containsers with closable lids. And you can also buy cheap liners of the cups. Also because that tool uses an vacuum system you can spray upside down without problems. I know price is a different ballpark but quality is as well. Yeah you mix the paint, put it in the that little cup thing, and if it drains in 70 seconds i think, its perfect for the gun. The tube inside the gun also bends, so when you are painting downward it will get the last paint, im sure if you are going to hold it sideways you can turn that tube to the left or right. I think it did a great job considering you were just chucking paint in it. Some paints you buy will work with it without diluting, etc. The best thing about this thing, is that you could mix up custom colours, and buy colours you like in bulk. If you knew for fact that "brand x red" worked perfect in it, instead of ordering it per can, you could order it by the bucket.

I just used one of these with latex and urethane enamel with no drip issues. There is a center nozzle which the paint comes out from, around that nozzle is a silicone...air cone and a small gap between it and the plastic front piece... HVLP air passes through the gap, pulling paint through the central nozzle as it does. Higher air+less paint can fix spatter issues for what looks like pretty thin paint - maybe you can avoid drip too. Anyways, compared to cans...pretty cheap. I used a corded one, how long does a battery last? I would go and get more sprayer/bucket assemblies, screw unscrewing.

BUT ALSO IF YOU CANT FIND ANY TRY AND SEE IF SOME ONE CAN 3D PRINT AN ATTACHMENT FOR USE WITH REGULAR SIZED BOTTLES. just a thought and hope you see this and maybe it helps you perhaps.

You can get mesh bags to screen your paint, put the paint in and squeeze it out. The downsides is it's messier, and I don't know if they are reusable, they might be though

Thanks for the video Doke 🙏🏻👊🏻
I paint because it’s good to be creative for my recovery from a brain injury.
I have a disability and issues with communication from my brain to my hands (I struggle with dexterity & proprioception in particular). I also get fatigued fast and my hands cramp up.
Tools like this help. Especially as I’m on a budget. I use a handheld manual spray grip for block colour - it’s ok but as you said it has its problems, I have much better control with a can when my hands are good. I now stencil where possible for short spray holds 👍🏻
This tool is definitely beneficial for me! Thank you for testing and sharing. I appreciate the videos.

Contact the company, and ask for more bottles. You won't have to dump, just switch bottles. And have an extra with water, for clean out, between bottles.

Technical comment: this type of sprayer is called HVLP - for high volume/low pressure airflow. Old school autobody paint sprayers are LVHP. The higher air pressure creates more overspray than HVLP. I’ve used a corded HVLP sprayer for white paint on scenery and I have another for water based clear coat for furniture. Now I want a cordless. 😀

Looks amazing and fun to use. A good idea would be getting multiple of the bottom paint canisters for different colors so you can swap them when needed and not have to worry about cross contamination.

Insert thick plastic liner(bag) in container, so every color has its own bag, only have to clean the machine out with water(the water can go directly in container. still fast and no need for many containers

Get extra containers and a small bucket that you use to rinse the gun. That way youll have more colors and quicker changes

Try using the matt colour with glossy can colour in one piece, like half shiny half matt

I agree with the person who said that you should maybe buy multiple containers and treat them the way you would a spray can. Have a container for each color you want to use.
And have one container dedicated for cleaning up the tubes in the machine (filled with water). It's definitely something that will take space, (buying multiple containers) but considering the use you wanna have for them, it can be really worth it. That was really cool actually that tool is really useful.
Only downside is the sound for me. It seems pretty loud.

    Looks great to buff walls…
If you want to use different colors with it just buy a few of these guns… just switch battery and you are ready to go.
But with one gun I don’t think this rinsing with water isn’t necessary. Just change the color in the container and rinse with the new color.

Can I suggest if you want to keep the wall together for longer to add some glue to your paint so it holds the wall stronger

The container for the colors are most likley the cheapest , you could buy more of the little bubbles on the bottom, and I think if you buy them separately they come with caps so you could PRELOAD then with colors qnd have them on standby
