    I'd imagine a lot of those engines would end up getting new cams, intakes and exhausts and finding their way into various race cars. Could probably get 100hp out of it if pretty easily.

    A V12 with displacement of a modern inline-3... I love it! :D

  • @deknegt
    @deknegt Рік тому +39

    This is probably your most ambitious project yet, trying to slam a V-12 engine into a city car. But you managed to pull it off admirably, and the car looks absolutely stunning as usual! Can't wait to see it drive around next episode!

    Eco V12... that's a neat one :P not so eco on an absolute level, but compared to your other stuff it sure is!

    I hope the winley will come to some rally stages, even if only in privateers hands.

      While I do not want to be the privateer mechanic spending every evening on maintaining the engine, it certainly would make sense!

    the car is a masterpiece, it looks nice and neat, it shows notes of sportiness and I hope that it will be so in reality, the video is cool as always, I wish you good luck with your future car

    I'll chime in on the comments and suggest that if you're having another go at the Winley, perhaps a shooting brake would be a better fit for a luxury car company than a hot hatch?

    • @the.bavarian
      @the.bavarian  Рік тому +5

      Maybe, but this would not get rid of my problems designing the front of the car :) And I specifically wanted to create a prestigious hatch, looks like I failed at least on the visuals part :D

  • @godman4920
    @godman4920 Рік тому +5

    Your designes are absolutely gorgeous!
    However, balancing grip/brake force may add a huge driveabilty + race rates, which leads to a better desirability.
    Also, why did u ignore drivetrain settings?) Your engine showed up 150 km/h, but u set cap on ~250... As I learned, lowering top speed (theoretical) to the actual whould result in a nice 0-100 within increased driveability.
    Correct me if i'm wrong on it, since I've completed only one playthrough yet:)

    • @the.bavarian
      @the.bavarian  Рік тому +2

      Maybe I forgot optimizing brakes. I'll check again for the facelift.
      And the drivetrain settings were not ignored - I set up long gearing on purpose because the fuel economy was much improved, and this was the focus for this build

    i love the winley i think its very good and the only thing i think it should have is a turbo with a facelift if possible, and maybe a luxury offroad could be good

    • @the.bavarian
      @the.bavarian  Рік тому +5

      A luxury offroad definitely will come at some point! Turbos need a bit of prototype development, but I agree that I should get started soon.

    • @the.bavarian
      @the.bavarian  Рік тому +5

      I hope not :D the cam profile is not very aggressive and headers are very basic. So I guess it will be quiet. But we'll see in Beam next time!

      Thanks! Normally it takes me about 2 hours of car design, 1 hour of gameplay and 2 hours of editing, so 5 hours per episode!

  • @Antiquitycar

    It's between a Ford Fiesta and an Opel Kadett of the relevant years, it's a familiar look, blends in and not unusual. It's not a luxury design.
    The front grill has always been and still is standing up as the symbol of prestige in luxury cars. Giving it up without technical justification or a good reason diminishes the visual grandeur and also cut the visual familial continuity from the company's other models. And that was especially important thing at that era.
    Can you fix at the mid life facelift?

    • @the.bavarian
      @the.bavarian  Рік тому

      Thanks for the comment! I will give it another try, and I was not too happy with it myself in the end. Did you like an earlier try during the design timelapse more?

    • @Antiquitycar
      @Antiquitycar Рік тому

      @@the.bavarian I would start with dual headlights in each corner, small dual round headlights (like a BMW or Lancia) or small dual square headlights (like the American style of the era). With this in place, I would create the front grill with all the familiar shape elements from the earlier models, not too retro and not too modern, classic and elegant but shiny and noticeable as well.

    Get into Dalluha as soon as you can...about 15% of your cars end up there as private imports.

    • @the.bavarian

      @@the.bavarian yes, its very very fun. i am still strugling a bit with the learning curve, even with my 10 years working in the automotive industry irl, and let me say, its very bad to design a car full detailed and just dont sell at all. lol but that makes us go back in the game to seek reveage :P btw, are you an engineer or something bro?

    I feel like a V8 is fine for FWD. Either that or a transverse straight 6. You could've done that with the 69-ish bore and then paired it with about an 80mm stroke for a 1.8L on the straight 6, or with a V8 I bet you could've squeezed an 80mm bore 90mm stroke in there for a 3.6L.
    Either way, given the limits of torque per liter, I wouldn't want an engine that produced less than about 300Nm of torque for something "luxury" that's intended to have at least enough power to get out of its own way. I mean BARE MINIMUM 250Nm. Or to put it to a ratio, no more than 6kg to vehicle weight for every 1Nm of torque.

    The car looks generic for such luxurious company, not enough character and expressions, unlike every other car before . But it could be an actual start for "hot-hatch" series for Might Motors. Like Golf was to VW.
