One of the best songs to learn singing while playing at the same time. Not too much going on with the fingers, which frees up the mind to be able to sing simultaneously. Rock on.
I know previous comments have addressed this, but i must say i really enjoyed the extra slide lessons thrown in. I was unaware that this song was a simple double stop riff! so so fun. Thanks again Eric!
+MrBHBjr You are so welcome my friend. BTW: Don’t miss it!!!! LIVE this Sunday, May 1st 3P EST(Eastern Standard Time) Go to yourguitarsage.com/live

He reminds me of Ben Afleck
Marcus Stiegemeier I think he almost sounds like Chris Hansen
He reminds me of a high school teacher
A gay one
Ben Afleck + Ryan Reynolds
He reminds me of someone who is off their meds.
Wicked sound, great lesson! The little tip on use of the finger to mute strings is so simple but I had not thought of it! Thanks for the tip!
Hey Erich I love your tutorials, have always watched em. Iv been playing on a crappy 80$ AUD guitar for years because Iv never been able to afford a proper guitar but Iv stuck with guitar and kept playing for the past 2 years learning from you
Stumbled across this one Erich looking for the George Thorogood version...thanks for something to fill my afternoon with
You remind me of a dodgy lawyer. Am I legally allowed to play it this way? Will this hold up in court?
this dude looks like James Hetfield young brother
Bro predicted Saulious Goodfellow
I love your lessons man ... you’re great player and great teacher thank you

Tnx for making it simple. And kinda funny held my attention, been learning since covid w my daughter and somehow she got hip to this song from megamind (im not a fan of this song) and I'd like to surprise her when I get it down. Bummer I gotta buy a slide but makes the difference. Thanks again.
Great lesson! Such a cool bluesy riff! 🎸 😃
I know this was 7 years ago but I love how there’s so many polite full paragraphs about things being said in such an organized matter or something than like every 5 of them there’s just HEY ERIC LOVE THE VIDEOS SO HELPFULL❤🤠 it’s amazing and I don’t know why
🙏🙏🙏
@@yourguitarsage haha ✝️
I enjoy playing guitar. I really liked the video. 💚
Right on. I like that "called upon" thing. I believe you. This is a great lesson. It's awesome sounding yet easy to play! Thanks for posting. : )
You are so welcome, my friend. e:)
Great video Erich. I've been messing around with the slide and this is the 1st time I noticed or saw a slide video. The slide over the fret tip will help me alot.
+William DeMars Thank you William. I appreciate the comment. Please, stay in touch! e:)
i wish i had a sg that clean and awsome
Sooo humble. Rock on dude. 👍 greetings from UK
Rock on! Thanks, friend.

@YourGuitarStage Great Video Lesson ! I Like Thorogood so much, So could you please show how to play " I am a steady rollin' man" too ? Appreciated
Great stuff my man.
great one!
you sir have earned a new subscriber..but quick question how is your guitar tuned to is it g tuning
thanx bro gonah use this for, parts of it for Elvis cover Trouble
I have that same guitar. My uncle bought it in the early 70s and gave it to me in the mid 90s.
Question about how you would annotate this as a chord progression.
Those diads in the riff appear to be G, C, G, A#. So if this is in the key of G, that would be I, IV, I, II#?
Also, I didn't know that you were allowed to sharp the II chord in a key, what is the theory here?
Hi. Good work. I will definitely watch some more. Thanks.
Thank you Stephen
Do you have to change the tuning of the guitar?
Amazing what you are doing, man. I've been juking around in slightly wrong directions, tossing coin about in other "schools" for a time now. Love love love your message...guitar and beyond. Soon to be a full-on subscriber after holidays...you have just dotted more i's and crossed more t's than the other online teachers. Sharp, incisive stuff here. Thanks...
+Scott Cole Thank you Scott for your very kind comment. Please, stay in touch! e:)
That was a good lesson easy once you have a starting point
Good video Erich. I've never tried slide so might have a go at this for a bit of variation. Thanks! :)
Thank you so much Phoenix! It's a little bit challenging at first, but it's super fun to play.
Like wow man! You would have to be ancient like me to know where I borrowed that phrase from. Anyway, love this lesson!
Thanks amigo,
Dave in the Adirondacks
Never really got slide down until this video. I think I'm figuring it out. Thanks to this lesson! Thank You!
Did you ever figure out what the name of the slide is? The one in the video?
-Joey
+Music Man's Ladies Band You are welcome my friend! e:)
No, Thank You!!!!
awesome tips, great video!!!
👍
Great lesson 👍
Thanks! 😃
all of the techniques you throw in your lessons are extra spice. good stuff
So glad that you pick up on those my friend. Thanks for the kind words.
Beautyfull old SG !
Is this the technique used by ZZ Top?
great vídeo!! really helped me out
Thank you 🙌
Really nice lesson. I just need that thing for my fingers cuz they hurt ass hell
The tuning is open g correct?
Good stuff as always.
Thanks so much my friend :-)
Does George tune down half a step?
Very nice job.
What kind of guitar is that?
AH! My brothers favorite tune while we were coming up in this ole world :) I shall learn it now and be his hero! hehe good stuff brother!~~John
Learn it John! Make your brother happy :-)
Thank you soo much for your lesson I’ve learnt my favourite song and by the way I think Ryan Reynolds looks like you. ( I’ll tell him that) 🙂🙌🏿🙏🏾
Well used SG with dust between the pickups under the strings? My hero! 🤩
PS: I have been complicating this lick for years and NEVER got it right!
Thanks! 👍
👊🏻🙏
Being a guitar sage must pay pretty well, look at all those nice guitars.
I’ve been doing this a little bit🙌
thanks. Good stuff!
+Joseph Koch You are so welcome. Glad ya dig it! e:)
love that lesson bro as I want to learn slide guitar , thanks
You're so welcome Vernon. Please let me know how I can help.
Yeah a few more slide lessons would be nice, I don't want to be a Steve vai or anything like that but I guess I got to start with the basics 😳
Acrylic slide?
you sir have earned a new subscriber
Happy to have you!
It may sound silly but the tip about tucking the finger underneath the second string is gold! So, I'm an idiot! LOL
I haven’t touched a slide for years but I found this interning ,maybe il get one and tune one of my guitars to an open tune, anyone have any string gauge recommendations ?im just getting back into playing again and using 8s as I find them easier to play
I would like to intelligently answer those questions my friend but alas, I am not a very good slide player. I can cover a couple of bases.
my main man whippin out the sg! seriously, i die to the sight of that guitar. youre a lucky man. what year's it from?
Thank you so much my friend! It is a 1969 and it was owned by Lita Ford and Joan Jett from the runaways. A very special guitar indeed.
+yourguitarsage WHAT?! oh man, i cant stop droolin at that guitar, dude. i'd either love the "thunderstruck" sg or the 1967 sg, which is esentially the 1969 one, only difference is is Angus Young's first guitar, that he uses to play every studio recording. As you can probably tell i love AC/DC man. who are your favourite band/player/singer? sorry if my questions are annoying, i just like to see what Mr.Sage gets up to when he's not helpin people rock.
yourguitarsage ha, you must score a lot with girls with your guitar when you tell them it's from 69 :)
+Diarmuid Mckenna AH...a happily married man . e:)
By far one of my favorite guitar. The strat and les paul are some of the best, but the thick neck of an SG makes me play differently and almost more aggressive. Love it.
mate you have the wrongest suzuki add ever, before seeing your vids which are great!
Is that standard tuning is my question
So slide guitar is pretty much a form of barre playing?
3:15 comment about the mountain, got me to subscribe. sick.
Great explain :D of the slide. Slide is damn hard technique to master. Now next step is to lerning how to mute strings.
Thank you my friend! Check out this course that we produced with R.J. Ronquillio: www.udemy.com/share/101YRWB0MYeFlW/
Thank you! :-)
I this version standard tunning of down g tunning?
Standard
Twisty Wrist Bit. 😂😂😂😂😂. Thank you. I need he laugh.

Your an excellent slide player, would it be poss to add a little more boogie and do madison blues? Big fan love your teaching style! U sir ARE the true rock star
You are so kind Frank. Thank you. 🙏 Madison Blues, I’ll have to research that. 🙌
that guitar! wohooohohow! thank you for lesson :)
+matebary Thank you Matebary! Appreciate that! e:)
Looks similar to what Derrick Trucks plays.
What about open G tuning? Won’t it make much more easier to play with slide?
Yes, it helps a little bit.
twisty wrist bit= butterfly vibrato
+supercrackhead100 Flutter flutter!
+Guitar Lessons with Your Guitar Sage Well I don't any of us can make that type of vibrato flutter like BB King did. He was one of a kind.
+supercrackhead100 Indeed!
Nice SG..............
I would love to learn the song I got the key to the highway by Jon Lee hooker.
thanks for that ;-)
como se llama lo que va en el dedo? o donde se consigue?
bottleneck
ok, grasias
Se llama Slide, el mismo tipo del video lo dice.
That is the nicest looking sg I have ever seen
+Nashenal Gaming Thank you man. Appreciate that! e:)
is the guitar tuned in g instead of e? what are the notes of open g tuning?
+supercrackhead100 This is standard tuning.
+Guitar Lessons with Your Guitar Sage Many thanks
+supercrackhead100 U r welcome!
Can you do badlands by acdc
Love that one
Thanks for the tutorial man! Honestly I just wanted to learn the main rift for the funnies 💀
Glad I could help!
Is it me or does it sound like framed by los lobos at the beginning
Dope
over time playing slide you can do it without the muting its all in the feel
I thought George tuned to open G tuning?
Without a slide this song is like playing ELP without a synthesizer.
Thanks
+Luis Clar You are so welcome! e:)
What's with your finger nail on your right thumb?
+ryan vogl Many guitarists who finger pick will have longer finger nails on the right hand.
My fingers are all jacked up with arthritis and psoriasis.
Finally my sliding doesn't sound mental 🤘🏻
+Kyle Blackburn Rock on Kyle!!!!! e:)
I bought myself a slide and it sounds horrible on my acoustic and stratocastor
Your probably not doing it right
or try tuning down to open D
I thought the same thing at first. Use lots of vibrato with the slide. Lift it off the strings when needed. Keep the slide moving. Watch how Guitar Sage "sweeps" the slide from above to the strings. : )
autocrow thx, maybe also because it is glass.
SonicChronos after all, Bonnie Raitt didn't sound so good to begin with.
What is the tuning
I think it's the standart
Which is wrong!
Standard....sounds great
standard
Standard
Ok but what should I set my amp to? 🙃
ernesto cuello 11
Cool amp!
+Squizzy Bollocks Thanks Squizzy! e:)
I think its important to note that his guitar is tuned to open g
that might have been a good place for him to start but whos counting
Very good video. Very clear to understand. I've learned a lot. Thankyou
You're welcome! Thanks for watching
First off, you would have done all the guys here in the comment section a big favor by stating that the tuning is in Open G. Second, the opening riff is not doing George T any favors either. So, if you’re not a slide player why try and teach people the wrong way to do it? Study some GT first. Please don’t take my comment the wrong way since you are a great teacher.
You think your tie is long enough?? Just kidding! Great vid dude...
what's the tuning???
STD. The open B, G, and D strings are in an open G chord. Just play those strings.
