- I found a stained glass butterfly pattern and thought it may be really neat to make an intarsia with it!!! I made the first one, and then I made a smaller one, and while the glue was drying I practiced on my scroll saw and ended up making a bunch more! I love these things!!!
In a part of the video you can hear the rain coming down. Fortunately my area of Louisiana didn’t get hit as hard as other areas with the flooding. I am sure the storms scared Johnny and that is why he wanted to be in the carrier so much lately. Thanks for watching!
I have attached a link to the butterfly pattern in the UA-cam video description box. I have also added a patterns folder on my Pinterest page.

+Robert & Marissa Copenhaver Hi! Thanks for watching and commenting. A lot has changed since that butterfly video, that little dog passed away :( we moved and now we have 2 new pups. You may see the video where I talk about Johnny, he had cancer. We miss him. I'm thankful to have all the videos with him in them.
They look great! Please post a photo of the one with the walnut tips when it's finished. I agree that the darker wing tips looks better.

Beautiful. Hi ya little J. :-)
+Elizabeth A Mizdail Thank you Elizabeth, John says ruff!
Beautiful butterflies! Did you think about inlaying something like that in the top of the bench? It would look so awsome!
+Night Woodworker Hey there!!! Yes, I did think of inlaying one of these, I have made some smaller ones now and that little size may work!!! Still scared to do it though!!!!
+Cy's Corner Well if yoh mess it up you can always make a bigger one. In worst case you'll have a butterfly on steroids over the entire top :D
Night Woodworker Heee heeeeee!!!!!!
Parabéns trabalhos lindos de mais bjos do Brasil!
Obrigado :)
Cy great project. The verse was very fitting. What type brand of blades do you use and tpi of blades.
Greg
+Greg Teagle I bought a little packet of blades called Woodstock International, Inc. There are 72 blades, 6 different sizes, TPI's 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, 23. The packet has a guide that says which blade to use with which thickness. In this video I was using the #5 blade, which is 16 TPI and is suggested for thicknesses of 1/4-1/2". :) So far these blades have been great :)
Thank You. I will check out that brand. All we have in my area is Olson. There fitting but I may find your brand better.
God Bless
Greg
I like how you created several projects from just one idea, that's cool. Seeing you busy at you new bench is cool too.
I've been under the weather the past couple weeks, but I am beginning to bounce back one more time. Got to focus on being healthier. Being indoors I've been practicing my "bucket list Ukulele" one day I will play some song on it.
Louisiana sure got a lot of rain, I've been lucky with no damage, hope all is well up you.
The antennas are cool, "may I kindly suggest" a curly spiral tougue on a butterfly? I liked the quotation on the back a lot too! I'll be watching. I'll be back in the shop soon. Later gator!
+Marty Dufour Hey Marty! Sorry to hear you have been sick, hope you get to feeling better soon! A ukulele??!! that's pretty neat! Do butterflies have a spiral tongue? Hmmmm....... wow! After awhile crocodile!!!
hermoso felicitaciones
Muchas gracias :)
Very Cool Butterflies!!! Love it! Are you going to be at the woodworking convention in GA on April 1st? Hope so! - Brian
+WoodenCreationz Thank you :) Was planning on going but can't now :( Next time or sometime I hope!!!!
Great scrolling, by the way where is TinkerBell's ear muffs' no pun intended. Hard to beat the Yellow Rose you done.
:) Thank you. No little muffs for the little pooch :(
Thanks! Do you have any videos on how you put that bible verse on with that versa tool?
I see you found the video! There are 3 techniques, I like the woodburner one the best :) There are links to the other videos in that videos description box I think!
You're a joy! Love your butterflies! Can you inform me on how you transferred the Bible message onto the wood?
I made a video of my heat transfer technique, here is a link to it : ua-cam.com/video/wvaC49pjzmk/v-deo.html
Hope that helps. On some word programs you can flip horizontally, but on my program the button is there but doesn't work. The key is make sure it is printed with toner not ink, and then practice the heat amount needed and pressure. Hope this helps!
Just found your site. Nice work. I am interested in starting some of these projects, but first must buy a scrool saw. Do you recommend a certain model. Dont want to spend toooo much money in case it doesnt pan out. The one you have looks expensive. Is the one you have dependable? Thanks
cool project. love how they turned out. any recommendations for a first time intarsia project. these have intrigued me but never have tried
+John Turner Hello John :) I recommend some simple patterns by Judy Gale Roberts. She sells patterns but has some simple ones for free on her Web page. Just Google her name and you will find it. I'm on my phone so can't attach the link. Emailed if you have more questions. undeniablycy@gmail.com :) !!!
Maravilha de Borboletas
Ei! Obrigado :)
Really pretty! Can't wait to see them all :)
Have you considered hearing protection for John too when he's in the shop with you?
+Lilly Dragon Thank you :) Hearing protection would be good for him, very true :)

wooowww hebatless cheers;)
Have you ever tried nut wood?
Is this a real question Cliff? I have carvings from Ecuador that were made out of Tagua nut, but have never used it myself. Was wondering if you were calling me a nut...... :D
Those are fantastic, Cy.
Did you have any problems at your house with all of the rain?
+Steve Collins Thank you :) No problems, my little town must be on higher ground, thankfully!!!! The surrounding areas however, it's very deep...
Ual como queria uma dessas!!!1Rsrs
:)
What material did you use to get the gloss? Thanks
I used Polyurethane in the spray can :)
Awes
+Shampoo Wow Thanks :D
Where did you get your pattern of the butterfly?
Hello again! I sent you a link on the other comment. If you can't access it send me an email and I can send it to you that way 👍
undeniablycy@gmail.com
Before gluing the pieces (after sanding) do you wipe/ wash the pieces with anything?
+Rachel Hathcock I wipe them with a tack cloth. :)
I read most of the comments and didn't see that anyone asked this so... When you put the lettering on the back, how was that done? Details please.... What brand and type of spray did you seal with?
+john8291964 Hello, I made a video on that process. Here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/wvaC49pjzmk/v-deo.html The key is using toner and not ink! My favorite finish is Minwax Fast Drying Polyurethane. I have tried spray acrylic too, but I keep going back to the polyurethane. Thanks!
What type of paint do you use here Cy? Acrylic or water paint?
+Shahab Saniei No paint, it is the natural wood color: )
tu est super sampa. ahhhhh humoriste
Je vous remercie ;)
Why do you wear ear protection yet place your dog in a bag right in front of the saw?
Ola tudo bem ..onde encontro esses moldes
