Welcome back everyone!
The Freelance Police are back, and they are looking better than ever! After playing through the first episode, I have to say that this is a GREAT remaster. Skunkape Games manages to keep the bare bones of the original game while adding some new additions that further imrpoves both story and gameplay. The game looks beautiful, especially the lighting, and the characters themselves really pop out. I'm real excited to play the rest of the episodes and am eager for the upcoming seasons.
For the Sam & Max series, I try to exhaust every dialogue option possible as well as find unique interactions that will give you special dialogue from characters. This is why my video walkthroughs are longer than other content creator's uploads.

Fun fact if anyone doesn't know: The voice of Max in the first episode (Who was replaced from Ep 2, onward), was also the voice for The Narrator of season 3! And given the twitst on that character, it actually makes some meta sense

Nah; I don't want anymore censored jokes, and a voice for Bosco who sounds like he's not even trying.
I do hope they remake Strong bad's cool game for attracting people and Wallace and gromit's cracking adventures as well.
I love how the first spoken line by max is the same between this and the show; as well as there being tons of references just kinda sprinkled everywhere
While I do agree with everyone else that Bosco’s voice change was unnecessary and a little jarring, I really don’t think the new VA is that bad. He probably would’ve had better ground to stand on if they casted him as a new character (obviously not here, but maybe in future games).
It’s just the original was so perfect for the role. He sounded like someone on 12 cups of coffee. The new guy sounds like he’s only on 6 cups
I think I know why they changed it because it sounds a lot like well I don't know his name but the number 9 large meme the guy from that and because of that they could get copyright strike so you know

Apparently they've bought the rights to all their Sam & Max games, so they're going to remaster the 2nd and 3rd season surely.

@@ejelecflametails6657 Nope, out of the Steam Store. You can still get some Keys for it or just ask someone that has it to Family Share with you.
@@ejelecflametails6657 Get keys from G2A or other sites and use SAM or actually play. I already have the Lugermorph and the License to Maim, and I'm planning to get Poker Night 2 to get the Big Kill.

Hot damn!!!! I missed these guys. Only I think they messed up bosco’s voice, he just doesn’t have that push in his lines anymore. Sounds too young for a middle aged man.

@@subjectdelta7210 I think they changed it up because some of Bosco’s personas had some jokes that made people working on the game uncomfortable, since there were no alternative lines, they had to find him another actor.

Favorite character Sam... voiced by David Nowlin himself! He also voiced Fone Bone in the very first Telltale game. And he voiced Fuse in Space Channel 5! When I saw the credits... it blew my mind.

Like everyone else, i much prefer the original Bosco voice. This new one just isn't right for his personality.
That said, thanks for exploring every dialogue option! Rare to see someone do all of them.

I’m only looking to abit of this so I can see how it turn out, no spoilers till I get it myself, but this intro, wow, I love it, and I’m certainly looking forward to getting this to recall how great this series is, good work on this game man, lucky for ya to get this.

It’s such a weird shock to hear Sam’s voice so low and not as expressive, and I loved Chaikin’s performance as Max. Granted, Kasten’s performance is more recognizable, but I miss Max’s old voice.

for those wondering, they changed Bosco's voice actor to Mr. Ogie Banks because he was originally played by a white actor, Joey Camen

@@Obscure_man31 The team didn’t feel comfortable having a white actor playing a black character, acknowledged they wouldn’t do that if they made this game today, decided to change it because they had the opportunity to.
I don’t really like this performance of Bosco, feels too placid and low energy. Though I can still respect their decision despite not liking the new voice without acting like a total fool and crying “censorship” or “SJWs ruin everything.”

Bosco's new voice sucks but what's worse, and also something most people haven't seemed to have noticed, is that they removed a lot of the jokes and toned everything down to be "PC" too. It's Sam & Max FFs.
They've removed the twisted, edgy jokes from the game and changed the anti-PC nature of the characters which is what everyone has loved for over 30 years.
I'm surprised they didn't just give Max some clothes too.
I wouldn’t have notice if there weren’t people on the steam forums crying about it. I was on their side at first until they started acting more and more embarrassing with each passing day, now I just really don’t care.

Why the fuck is everyone so salty about this? They are only like 10 changed lines, on top of that if you are not looking for them you won't notice their absence, stop exaggerating guys.

A video about how jokes were censored in the remake has more views than this. :( This spells badly for Sam & Max's resurgence...
I have looked at a list of the removed/altered jokes, and I'll admit, I miss *one* of those not-politically-correct jokes, and this is coming from someone who tries to be politically correct. But I still appreciate the attempt to renew and even modernize the old games and bought the remake. The *core* of Sam & Max's humor never hinged on offensiveness anyway, so no big deal to me.
They censored a lot so the game could be released in more places than just the US, Canada, Australia and such.
@@davidthecommenter Is this new info? Last I checked, it was because the team that worked on the remake were personally made uncomfortable by the jokes that they then removed. Which I can sort of understand now that it's been such a long time since the news of the changes broke. I'll always have the original version on Steam anyway.
Why would other countries need these changes over the US? 🤔 Now I'm curious.

Everyone talking about Bosco’s new voice, but what about Max’s? He does t really sound so childishly chaotic anymore. He sounds like he has something stuck in his throat he can’t get out
This was the original voice actor for the game until they changed to William Kasten starting episode 2. There isn’t any new voice actor for max except in the recent VR game

I wanted to buy the game myself but I don't have any nintendo Eshop money so I just decided to watch playthroughs.
Wow! The first episode of Sam & Max Save the World, in this game, was pretty awesome & funny at the same time. And I'm just getting into it thanks to this user I follow on twitter who also played the game. While I will admit how annoying it was from how you played throughout Episode 1, but you had your reasons for it & most likely did it to the rest of your Playthroughs/Gameplays/Walkthroughs. Really like the chemistry & interaction between Sam & Max, especially with Max & his outgoing & wild personality! I think I'm gonna like this game AND Sam & Max. I know you're already finished with this & the 2nd game, so Imma continue watching (mainly on my own terms & when I have time) more of your Sam & Max Playthrough/Gameplay/Walkthrough and see how the other episodes are like. It's definitely worth it now that I'm interested to see more of Sam & Max and their adventures!

Social justice bullshit caused Bosco to not be Bosco. They replaced a man who was perfect for the job for someone because he matched Bosco’s skin color, who was given no direction on how to Bosco.

So wait I have a question. I tested and some of these lines use the exact same voices from the exact same game years ago. It doesn’t look like they went back and re-recorded a ton of lines.
So if they didn’t recast voices for audio quality, why did they recast Bosco?

The game looks great and sounds fantastic, but the only problem is with Bosco’s new voice.
Why did they change it? The new voice dosent sound right especially with the old voices in it.

Also, the voice actor was involved in a controversy where two of his UA-cam videos were considered racist and transfobic. He claimed that he didn't mean to be racist, and that so, he was in fact, not racist. I didn't watch the videos, just stating the part I know.
But they still kept Jimmy's voice! So it's not that. Who knows, though.
By the way, you're not alone. Reactions between fans to the new voice actors range from indifferent to very displeased. Nobody actually likes the new actor.

Personally, I'm rather mixed on Bosco's new voice. I understand the change, and Ogie Banks is a good VA, and the voice isn't necessarily bad. But compered to the original voice, the new one sounds...restrained most of the time.
With that said, I personally think he does a MUCH better job in the sequel.

Were all the character's voice lines remade with new people? I can definitely hear it with Bosco, but I thought everyone else's voice lines sounded like they were pulled straight from the original.

.... At the end, they could have just forged Sybil's name, checked off the boxes and went in. Brady Culture Dies before Season 2 and it's not like he can sue Sam and Max while being extremely unlikely Sybil will find out as the area looks like it should be demolished soon enough.
this version of Bosco doesn't really, sell the character. But then maybe I'm just not getting it yet.
