@@drink.juice. That's what I love about them, the one time they do have a difference in opinion it's actually portrayed in a healthy way. They want the other to be happy even if it means compromising or just letting things go because they genuinely care about each other, and that isn't once put into question. Usually that's the lesson the characters learn at the end, but these guys just model it right off the bat.

In the past stuff made for kids used to be filled with death, violence, sad stuff, sexual stuff, scary stuff, alcohol, swearing and other things people nowadays think is going to give them mental problems for life and most kids that saw that stuff liked it and did not get scared by it and stuff made for adults in the past also used to be way more violent and sexual than they are now and kids watched that adult stuff too so most kids can handle seeing the exact same stuff in the media as adults can perfectly fine. People are way more overprotective over what kids see, hear and do nowadays than they used to be.

If kids in the past could see that stuff and did not get harmed by it then why would todays kids get harmed by it? People did not think that the smallest little thing could give kids mental problems for life in the past like people do now. Also they need to see and hear about things like that to learn and develop so if we try to hide it from them i dont think we are helping them develop really.

I think thats what was appealing to this though i am very very very new to watching this show i got into sam and max via the telltale games that were made on them and i just loved the wit and humour and the constant 4th wall breaking but i will say both their voices are marginaly different in the telltale games but sam sounds like penn from penn and teller
I must have seen this episode like ten times over the last 5 years before I realized that it wasn't the alien randomly screaming as it went down the toilet, but Max... taking a shower in the vicinity of a flushed toilet...
