Best RC channel ever!! Honest reviews, unboxings, and very useful information on specific vehicles. This channel should be huge, spread the word!! My Gladiator has never looked or ran better!!
Really enjoy the running videos where u talk us thru ur thoughts and reasons for what and how u are climbing. U should consider doing that every time. Have a great one sir. 😁👍
I love the videos of this channel. For me is one of the best RC channels on UA-cam. He explains it all very well. I´ve taken a lot of tips and ideas from what I see in these videos, Thanks and keep on the good job.
I shoo goo "d the samix rotors onto my aluminum portal covers so that I didn't need to buy the samix covers as the rotors attach with screws . It worked great
I need a set of them wheels, the ones you showed in the video set at different off set points. I’m getting a set of those beauties. Informative video for people getting into the hobby. Really helps people out a lot.👍
Wow, that Axial looks really impressive with simple mods! As I learned from you the real crawler mod is overdrive gears. I did over/under in my TRX4 sport and the rig is incredible. BTW, Proline makes a Jeep Comanche body that is a great fit for the TRX4. The short front overhang and short bed help performance tremendously and it looks good!
Gladiator is so cool. But the 6x6 is a 6x6. Maybe to help you decide, it will be much more expensive to mod the 6x6 than the gladiator. 50 percent more axles and tires and shocks. Still a real tough choice
@@kregadeth5562 yeah I know that’s why I’m on the fence with the two. I have the Scx10 iii wrangler and I love that machine. But I agree it’s expensive to upgrade the 6x6.
Some of the figurines at the beginning of this video I have not seen before. Can you cover the various types of figurines that might apply to scaled trucks? Thanks for your awesome work.
Thanks for all your good content Francis. Those Probuild Wheels are amazing. I need to get some of those. Did you get direct from AsiaTees or from another place?
Have a quistion about the scx10 iii wrangler kit ,have it all together and painting, but the is mounted like it's says to do but when body is on ,the wheels seem to not be centered, the set more toreds the back of the fender wells, have any ideas
Francis! Love the videos, i've followed a lot of your advice and my x4 is a beast. Thank you! Some advice needed regarding items you recommend a lot. 1) You mention venting the tires, but I run a lot in snow and wet areas so I want to keep things sealed. Will the dual stage foams still perform with unvented tires? 2) With a defender body, how much weight are you running? Currently I'm sitting at about 210 grams in the front and 100 in the rear. 3) I'm interested in the OD/UD gearing, but I trail a lot. If my X4 is on the trail often would it be better to run UD gearing the rear and leave the front stock? Would you recommend UD/OD set up at all for a part time crawler?
The objective is to drill a hole in the wheel OR the tire so air can escape out of the tire when compressed. This is called a vented tire since it does not develop any air pressure inside like a balloon. This is always desirable since it is predictable in all situations as it relies on the tire foam to do the job of supporting the tire and conforming to terrain. The downside is water can get in when playing in water and is bad for the foam. It has to be drained during clean-up. One way is to drill a 1/8 hole in the rim. The other way is to drill holes on the tire casing itself in between the tread. It's best to put two holes, on opposite ends of the tire. One can also us a hot iron rod and punch a hole in the tire. This allows the tire to be drained just by spinning the tire. The disadvantage is it weakens the tire if used at high speeds.
I’m not gonna lie at first I saw that clear ring and thought wow that’s kind of dumb then I got to looking at it in the gear started turning now I’m like I need a set of those.
The hardest thing about scale crawling is finding obstacles that aren’t too easy and offer enough challenge to be fun while not being impossible. But it’s more easy than finding a place to go in my real truck.
I can’t stand trucks with wheels set in! My argument is that a true off road truck typically has a weeeeee little bit of poke. Maybe none but the tires are never set in on the body. With my redcat the wheels were set way in to begin with so I got spacers to spread the track width. In reality if you have large tires on your truck, you need to offset to clear the suspension . Other wise you’ll pop your tires. So depending on the purpose of the vehicle it either could detract from the realism or enhance it. In my case the spacers are huge so it took away from the scale look. Now it sort of looks like I have the truck sitting on 2.5 ton axles . Which looks a bit weird. More like a mud truck and I don’t like that look. AnyWayyyy sorry for wasting you time
@@kregadeth5562 Yeh guess it depends on the truck, but there are so many "standard" looking defenders and toyotas out there with sticky out wheels - makes them look like they should be in mario kart! Each to their own!

thanks buddy. We try to infect everyone with our knowledge and addiction.

great vehicule and beautiful jeep, thanks for upgrades,i like it👍👍
Any plans to review the G500 wagon by Traxxas?
And hobbywing axe foc system! Made a MASSIVE difference. Way more power and speed and most of all. Better throttle management. Whole new rc.
you dont need axe foc. but once you tried it, you dont want anything else.
True.
Great video.
Great video on performance. Thank you for sharing. I'm tossed up between the TRX6 and the Jeep scx10 iii Gladiator.
I would personally get the gladiator. Its just too cool man

This Gladiator is a beast!!!💪💪💪
Kind of impressive.
in the other SCX 10 Video you put heavier oil in the shocks. Did you do that with the Gladiator as well?
clear wheel centers are interesting
You mention changing the settings on the ESC for the SCX 10 iii...what settings did you adjust?
The link for the Probuild wheels shows "discontinued", but the Probuild site shows available.
Can’t find those dual stage foams in the 4.75” size. What foams work best in the slightly larger tire size?

Won’t that acrylic rim brake? That’s my worry about it but I love it and just got a set.

why did you assemble the lock ring backwards with screw threads to the outside? must have reversed hubs and not swapped around

Hey Francis, regarding the wheels/tires recommendation, can you describe the process of adding adequate air holes to both the tires and wheels?
The objective is to drill a hole in the wheel OR the tire so air can escape out of the tire when compressed. This is called a vented tire since it does not develop any air pressure inside like a balloon. This is always desirable since it is predictable in all situations as it relies on the tire foam to do the job of supporting the tire and conforming to terrain. Looks good
Is the gladiator two speed or no because of the dig.
Why do the dual foams move around so much?
Were you able to fix the left turn limit on the Axial? As good as Axial is, that kind of design failure shouldn’t have happened, IMO
No, but I drove a friend's last weekend. Remarkable. Dremel job he said.
I’m not gonna lie at first I saw that clear ring and thought wow that’s kind of dumb then I got to looking at it in the gear started turning now I’m like I need a set of those.
nice review brother but dont E slap me for saying that jeep would look better without those side rails on the bed lol
:) E slap... love that. That's better than B slap.
That's some impressive performance. Almost makes it look boring. I guess I'm a bit more into scale driving nowadays. But impressive nonetheless

Where is your Axial Ryft????
I have to buy them like the rest of you guys. Back of the line!! Sucks for timing but good for non-bias.
Dude I can’t wait for that review!!
can you remove interior
Yes, most definitely.
the tires and foams are the only good upgrade, the clear window on the wheels is kinda dumb, takes away the realism
clear faceplates are not for everyone but these wheels have a bunch of faceplate options. Adjustable offset too is very good.
😊😊😊
Adjustable offset is great - can't stand trucked with sticking out wheels, really ruins the scale look.
Totally agree. But depends if you're trying to simulate a true 4-wheeler.
I can’t stand trucks with wheels set in! My argument is that a true off road truck typically has a weeeeee little bit of poke. Maybe none but the tires are never set in on the body.
