They also tell the origin stories of beloved Gaither songs like “Because He Lives” and “There Just Something About that Name,” and reflect on the influence of their ministry on other Christian music artists like Sandi Patty and Michael W. Smith.
Since 1962 Bill and Gloria Gaither have been writing, recording, publishing, and performing some of the world’s most cherished music. Their collaboration has resulted in more than 700 popular gospel songs, eight Grammy Awards, and more than two dozen Dove Awards from The Gospel Music Association, including eight “Songwriter of the Year” titles. Bill and Gloria are still writing and touring today.

I watch many interviews with the Gaithers... they are some of wisest leaders/teachers in existence today. Pastor Jim, thank you for this interview. Your questions were thoughtful and, as always, Bill and Gloria drip wisdom, insight and compassion. I'll be coming back to this interview many more times on my own journey.
As I live in Alexandria, it's amazing to me as I drive by their place and I think about how God has used the Gaithers so much. Amazing to see the guy who wrote Because He Lives at the grocery store. or the lady who wrote There's Something About That Name having lunch at Wendy's.

What a great reminder to all of us that God can use anyone and that at the end of the day, Bill and Gloria are human just like us. Who doesn't love lunch at Wendy's from time to time?
This guy yammered on for minutes before ever giving the Gaithers a chance to speak, I hate interviewers who think they have , moret to say than the guest. oh my goodness, almost 7 minutes. He needs another job.
