Love my flip4. This might be unpopular opinion but I don't really mind the crease. Screen however gathers doo doo a lot so that's a bit of a pain. Other than than I'm glad I stepped into foldables with the flip4.
My girlfriend got hers since a month ago. She is not a really heavy user so the phone last quite long because of her type of usage. She's really enjoying this form factor as she can fit it in her tiny bags
Great review! Had an S22 plus, loved it to big in pocket, bought a flip 4, love the size, great phone! Got bigger storage and a Samsung 5 Lte watch thrown in too.
Go to battery setting and change your performance profile to Light. Also turn off your haptic feedback. Also, turn off your location for most apps since they dont need them except Maps and Yelp This will get you lot longer battery with same speed
Got my Flip 4 on Saturday. It's so nice. I love being able to fold down my phone to a size smaller than my wallet. Plus the cover screen is amazing. I use it way more than I expected. Crease really doesn't bother me. Yeah it's visible, especially at certain angles, but it's not a big deal to me and I don't mind scrolling over it at all. Hopefully one day we do get flips with no crease at all, and then I'll probably see use those exclusively.
@@ravikg2010 honestly it's pretty good with it's size, especially on OneUI 5. I am a super heavy user so I drain quick, but on days with more normal usage it's great.
They had some hugely aggressive offers for those who preordered. traded in my old phone which took a nice £400 off the price. which brought it into the price range I was happy to spend.

I have an iPhone 13 pro as well but that feels really thick n bulky after using the flip... And extreme low light images are still better on the flip also hdr is much better on the flip.... Overall good value provided it'll last a good time....
Just a note, Z flip 3 got a software update with everything that the flip 4 has. So there's even less reason to get the flip 4 over the flip 3. Also removing the screen protector is fine but I'd recommend replacing it with another.
The Z Flip remains the world's #1 most popular foldable smartphone, which is why Samsung was able to get away with such a minor upgrade. Nonetheless, it's still a very good device, expect lower fold visibility on the Flip 5
Also love mine. This just in. A foldable fold has a crease. I knew it was there before I chose the phone. Bothers me zero. Want no crease. Buy yourself a candy bar phone
Z flip remains the most popular foldable smartphone in the world, that's why Samsung is able to get away with such minor upgrade. Nonetheless it is still a good device, hoping for lesser crease visibility on the Flip 5
They improved on the most important aspect though, battery life. From what I understand, it is finally a full day phone. This was the major gripe I had with the Flip 3.
@@davidhero1000 Consider your requirements carefully. If there is something important to you which is missing here, then do not go for it. Sometimes you might think you'll compromise just for the novelty of a flip phone. But trust me, the novelty wears off eventually and the features you want to use on a regular basis remain the most important aspects. I got the Flip 3 last year, knowing it's shortcomings. And I was ok with the compromises on battery life and that crease. But as I got used to it, I was craving for what I really wanted. Top notch cameras (mainly for still photography) with all perspectives covered. So I gave in and got the S22 Ultra and have been happy ever since. I retained the Flip 3 too (just for my collection), because I'm still in love with it for what it offers. So think it through and make your decision.
My wife has the flip 3. Hasn't even had it a year and it's developed a crack along the fold and has dead pixels too. Spoke to Samsung and they said it was obviously user fault so wants over £400 to replace the screen. I'm never buying a folding phone especially when the company won't take responsibility when they're defective.
The current deal on this thing is quite tempting, free watch 4, a free storage upgrade and £250 off for a trade in of any broken phone. All that plus a student discount that needs no proof comes to £750. Might have to say goodbye to the note 9
I love the review that you gave on this phone. I finally decided to go out and buy one. So far coming from a iphone 13 pro max, I think that I like this better. It's such a fun phone.
To highlight the crease as a negative aspect of the flip 4 is unfair. I am pretty sure that regardless of which company making a flip phone will not be able to solve this crease issue. It is part of the package and should not even be raised.
I've had mine for a month and it's good phone with a battery life which is very good. I bought it with a company discount and device trade in. I think I would have preferred a wider screen or Samsung to improve the customisation. My main concern is the screen reliability which remains to be seen.
If something crashes...try cleaning the cache partiton in recovery or wait for an update. They usually fix these niggles. Look at the iPhone 's iOS 16.....it has so many bugs (geez all they had to do was implement that dynamic island and AOD ) which they will fix with an update. Yeah the Flip is popular.....love that Bora Purple colour.
Had mine since launch. Do really like it. The crease doesn't bother me. The amount of dust / lint that the screen protector attracts drives me a little mad. Battery life did fail me on one occasion but was out all day snapping away. All in all a great phone. I just wish Xiaomi did a version as miss their os 🤞🏻
I think there might be something wrong with the model you have when it comes to customising the cover screen, you're the first reviewer where they've ever had this kind of error so you might want to get it checked out. I've been watching reviews on the Z Flip 4 and I decided that I'd probably buy this phone or the next one when they are on special offers because of finances. I wish it had a bigger battery and dust resistance but other than that I really have enjoyed the honesty from reviewers. I love the compactness of the phone and I really would like to look at my phone less so that cover screen seems like a great option!
This is the bendy phone I'd be most interested in, but it doesn't seem that different to the flip 3...so makes sense to save money and go for the older one 🤷🏼♂️
Wtf is wrong with you? If you have the option get the 4 instead of the 3. Trust me as a previous 3 owner the battery is fucking ass and the charging speed will make you scream. Camera was ass too.
Wait, minor upgrades but much better performance and battery and camera. Dude, I am telling you, Go for the 4 for a better experience. I am using Z flip 3 which I definitely love but Flip 4 will give you the best for a first time flip user. Just my two cents 😅
Seems that Samsung is getting better with the foldable phones, especially being water resistant. But they could at least have a lower rating for dust resistant instead of 'x' rating to give consumers a better assurance from dust due to having a foldable hinge.
Still enjoying my Flip 3... I specifically got it because my big Galaxy Note fell out my pocket and smashed... It has been great to use and to carry around. It will also be a cool backup phone when my next upgrade comes in. I got a Galaxy Tab S7+ bundled with it, so look around if you want one. Only minors for me are the battery capacity and the charge speed.. If both were moderately better i couldn't really fault this phone.
Did you ever replace the screen protector on your flip 3 ? I'm asking cuz I got flip 4 and would like to hear some feedback to keep the screen protected

Whilst it's nice to see a "different" design to the usual block design, having said that the price is ridiculous and it's hardly a good looking phone. I'm still waiting for someone to make a smart phone version of the Siemens SL55, now that would be a design worth being interested in
For trendy people that love to be seen with something different. For £1000 it is a downgrade in all metrics compared with alternatives at that price, and hard buy if value for money, features and usability is concerned. I will leave it to the small niche market so they can get some novelty out of it, but for me, candy bar phones are the de facto perfect solution for smartphones, despite the push by Samsung fans and YT influencers for anything that bends.
As someone who is planning to upgrade to it, valid comment. I do think the outer screen adds functionality complimentary with the form factor, but I recognize it is overall a compromise of the main features of other flagship phones
Well I just bought a renewed one hot on the heels of the release of the 5. I didn't want the folding phone because I want to "stand out" and "look different"...
