50+ years and I STILL tear up! This blues song reaches right into your SOUL! Damn this is great stuff!
Greatest blues rock music & best reaction
I seen them in concert when I was 17 and to this day will never forget that show was unbelievable. I really wish we where still back in those days when music was real. What a great band they where and still are.
Greta Van Fleet are young and playing gigs now and they are as talented as most 1970s bands.
I set up the Page and Plant tour in Birmingham AL and still talk about the show 20+ years later
@@lewisner They show some promise. But they aren't the musicians the Zeppelin was...
...Records and rules are made to be broken, friend. I love Zeppelin with a passion, but there are some incredible talents out there.
They were put here for just US Jeff, bask in those days at least we got to live it.
I could listen to you say "Led Zeppelin" all day long.
The lead singer is Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page, bass/keyboard and multi-instrumentalist John Paul Jones, and world-class drummer John Bonham.
Your Smile Said It All ... The Gods of Rock
Every single member is important and great!
We agree that they are one of the best bands ever! 🎸 🎶
Jimmy Page doesn't need to talk to women...he just plays his guitar and they know exactly what he's saying 😍🤣
Jimmy gets full on into wizard mode during that solo, especially that part in the middle where he almost gets lost in some crazy unknown nether regions and takes us all with him, ha ha... Excellent, thanks Empress.
Jimmy is the guy who drives the vechile in the journey, Robert is the guide.
NOT ONLY DURING THAT SOLO BRO! 😂👍IN the whole concert, PAGE WAS POSSESED BY THE DEVIL HIMSELF! 😂👍Look at the DAZED AND CONFUSED SOLO, DURING THAT CONCERT! IT'S FUCKING RIDICULOUS, AND INSANE, SO, IT'S MADNESS! 😂👍That's why there were so much rumors, like with Robert Johnson, JIMI Hendrix, Etc..... But what a great version, of SINCE I'VE BEEN LOVING YOU! It's 1 of the 2 only live versions, I could find, and, heard, when he's starting with that fast guitar solo! So good! But, the other fucking good version, even, if there's not that fast guitar intro, it's the live version in 1972, on the live album, HOW THE WEST WAS WON! What a fucking good version too! But, LIVE AT THE MADISON SQUARE GARDEN 1973, is the perfection for me! Even more because, after, the 1973 tour, they stopped in 1974,because they were all tired, and Robert needed to be operate from his throat! AFTER, in 1975, they were, still, fucking good, but not as before! ROBERT, couldnnt scream like before, the high notes, like here! And, 1975,was the last good tour, they did! After, they, just, started to go to hell! 1977,shit tour, cuted off, by Robert's KID'S death! 1979, EARLY 1980, PAGE, was ruined by HEROIN, BONHAM by cocaïne, and alcool, Plant, needed some équipements to help him to sing, the only one who was, still, so good was Jonesy! AND, 1980, on my own birthday, 25th September, BONZO Died! Finally, what a strange career! Sometimes, I, really, think, the peoples saying, PAGE, made a deal with the devil, is true! Seriously! Even, today, PAGE, is unable, to play as before! It's strange! Look at DAVID GILMOUR! That guy, is better and better, even if he's older! He becomes better with age! PAGE, it's the opposite! He's unable to make a solo like at NEW YORK, 1973! WHY? Anyway, I will listen to that band until my death! Peace from France guys! ✌️🎸🇫🇷😂👍
Babe , The best rock band ever. . Love you .
Probably, in my humble opinion, the best that Zeppelin have ever sounded, welcome to the party, Girl, love your reaction
Thanks for the Heart. means the world to me to know that you look at the comments
Please try Woman in Chains by Tears for Fears, you will not be disappointed, I promise
Singers name is Robert Plant. At around 8:05, the woman in the audience (dressed in white) smiling looked like his wife Maureen Wilson.
The person singing is Rock God Robert Plant! You and millions of us had major lust for this man!!!
Planty..
Not from this planet, not from this planet, this from HEAVEN.....!!!!!!!!!
Still, and he's almost 75❤
i enjoyed to watch your smiling
That has to be one of the finest performances ever captured and lucky for us all on film.
Music mastery
Legend has it that even from New Orleans they went to study at Led Zeppelin :)
1. You are literally SO PRETTY. 2. We all react that way to Rob's sex appeal hahah 3. JIMMY'S GUITAR IS INCREDIBLE
Please react to " In the Light" by Led Zeppelin.
Seen them play this April 4 1970 Indianapolis Coliseum they played 2 and a half hours. My ears rang for days lol
A good kind of ringing though ?
@@lewisner oh yeah
People always seem to miss the line about opening my door and hearing the backdoor slam. Meaning the guy she's cheating with ran out the backdoor, that's why he says I need to be your backdoor man, meaning the only man.
and in "I want to be your back door man" it often gets misconstrued for...you know. its a dovetail to this song
That's a straight lift from 1920's Blues which used exactly the same line.
Or, it means I want to be the guy you sneak around with...
@@CMI2017 And has been used many times, by many bands and singers, throughout the decades since...
@@gummiesrule88 But considering the plagiarism charge for this song's lyrics and the Moby Grape song, Never, and LZ's claim of copyright for songs on LZII which had to be reversed in copyright settlements, the stigma of theft hangs over this band's work.
Empress Joy-Jean we love you in the UK 🇬🇧 keep up the good work i love your big smile it makes me happy 😊
@Paul Morton, I love you all right back ☺️
My favourite Zeppelin song.🌋.
Led Zeppelin never tried to re-create their studio recordings on stage ,but instead, tried to re-create the live shows in the studio recordings.
They were playing at Madison Square Garden, which is the largest indoor arena in [Manhattan] NYC to this day. {20,000 capacity}
I love the way you say "Led ZipPOLIN" very cute! You put feelings into your reaction.
You just witnessed the best band EVER
One of the best rock blues ever! It had to be performed by Led Zeppelin!
That's his wife the epic reaction you pointed to 👍❤️
Nah........urban legend. This was 1973....Maureen had long stopped traveling with the band.....she had a one year old Karac at home to care for plus a young 4-5 year old daughter, Carmen. Others say it’s Joan Baez. Don’t think so.....but whoever she is, she’s beautiful and because of this clip, immortal.
Joy, the woman with the epic reaction was actually Robert Plants wife Maureen.
I saw them in 1975 and 1977. Both times I was in awe that I was there. Its an intense experience (at least for me and my friends). Jimmy Page is practically playing solos between solos. He is continuously all over the fretboard. They didn’t play this song in 75 when I saw them but did in 77. The police officer at 6:25 and the guy at 8:01 with his mouth open in stunned amazement describe how I was much of the time. Great reaction!
They were, are and WILL ALWAYS BE the ultimate rock band.
The Girl in the white ,with the crazy smile, was JImmy page's(guitar) Girlfriend at the time..
Everybody thought that including myself because she looks Indian… but it wasn’t her.. that girl is actually Cuban,, years later she wrote on a blog about her experience she even still had the long white hoodie after all these years and a tambourine that Robert Plant gave to her that night
Welcome to the greatest band in history ..Enjoy the ride
This is my favorite band! ✌❤🇮🇹
Try "The song remains the same/Rain song" from the same Madison Square Garden concert.
Yes!!!
I just love your reaction to the songs your so beautiful I smile when you smile and cry when you cry
Blessings from Toronto.
Old Delta blues line "back door man" means, going at the back door while the husband/other lover is coming in the front door.
Back door man is an old British term for the man she’s cheating with. She sneaks him the back door.
Please do The Song Remains The Same/The Rain Song live 1973 from this concert at MSG!! They are simply the best!
Once upon a time there was a band called Led Zepplin. A band like this will never come along again ; Fortunately for us they left a lifetime of music. GOAT. Cheers from deeeep in the Mountains of New York. Subscribed. Check out Lemon Song. Life changer.
Empress Joy Jean... What a beautiful reaction watching your facial emotions. You must be feeling the sensuality of great rock and roll music!
Awesomeness
Love to see people tuning in with led zep. You got music in you my girl :))
One of their best songs! Enjoyed watching you enjoy it Empress! 😊🌹
Your passion for music is such a rarity. It’s obvious in all your videos how deeply music touches that intimate part of our souls!
It don’t get better the these four Lads....the GOATS....ONE OF THE GREATEST CONCERTS EVER!!!!! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 the singer is Robert Plant! Your next L.Z. Tune has to be In my time of Dying!
Robert Plant who just commanded the stage was 25 years old here.
Another wonderfully expressive reaction to a great Led Zeppelin performance- thank you!
In my opinion that's how Blues should be done.
I just learned this song (this live version) note for not on guitar. Spent about 30 hours learning it since Sunday. Amazing song
my fav!. The working man with family, anthem .Wants to ditch the cow but cant
Ok I signed up for dis lol
What a reaction lol
I run out of superlatives (as do most people) to describe Zeppelin... your comment about Page's guitar playing warm's my heart... one of the very best of the best-in a field that has many, many icons. I got to know Zep when they released their first album in '69-my music teacher in high school loaned me the album... but Page was already a force before joining them. There will never be a band, or music, as good as this again....
Since i have been watching u. React to led zeppelin i cannot take my eyes off u
Empress, try Led Zeppelin's "Fool In the Rain", you'll love it-I promise!
Ha Ha... Get in line Sweety. There’s a few other birds waiting to meet 25-year-old Bobby Plant!
He was a Cutie! 😄
I saw them in 1969 in SLC when they were the warm up band for Vanilla Fudge! No one knew who they were. They did after that night and six months later they were #1 in the world. All their music is fantastic and I love your reaction here, but if you can, please give Led Zeppelin's "You Shook Me" a react some time. Love you Empress and stay safe. Can't wait to hear your next one!!!!!!!
Rock and Roll Blues!
I love the music you play, but I can't help enjoying the gorgeous woman who hosts the show.
I just love your reactions! Looking at you grooving to the music, it feels like we're grooving on it together. I love when you close your eyes and really get into it! You lose yourself in the music, and I'm right there with you!
Led Zep is my all time favorite band. Here are some more suggestions; The Song Remains the Same (Live); The Immigrant Song (live); and When the Levee Breaks. See? There are no bad selections, but these are some of the best
❤❤❤
love this song
James Patrick Page + Robert Antony Plant + John Richard Baldwin + John Henry Bonham, the juggernaut of Valhalla, best band EVER.
Greetings from Danmark 🤜 🇩🇰 🤛
I'm impressed, people usually focus on Robert. So, happy you loved Jimmy beautiful playing. I always take a peek and see if I can pick up JPJ and Bonzo playing too.
Lead singer is Robert Plant....nicknamed The Golden God....iconic and legendary front man. Cute does not begin to describe the charisma he exuded onstage. So many who came after tried to imitate, and some were excellent, but for me, no one else (except Freddie Mercury of Queen) could mesmerize and audience like Plant. And he and Jimmy Page, who was also incredibly charismatic onstage with his style, played off of one another to form a near perfect duo, while John Paul Jones (keyboards, bass, mandolin etc) and John Bonham the drummer formed perhaps the best rhythm section in rock history.
This is the Acid test the sky high benchmark by witch all live bands will be judged and compared to. And i dont think any will measure up or better this performance
🔥🔥🔥✌️✌️✌️🎸🎸🎸 Cheers 🍻
Babe I’m going leave you is EVEN better 😮😮❤❤❤
I was there!
my ears rang for 3 days.
Love your reactions. You clearly feel the music deep in your bones! 🤟
Backdoor does not have to be ''dirty''; it could simply mean an illicit lover who has to sneak out the back door, just in case her main lover comes home.
Um... That's the definition of "dirty" lol
Let me tell you my son learned on UA-cam at about the age of 12 how to play guitar he learned the entire album of imagine dragons and can play it at the age of 14 he began studying led Zeppelin and playing their songs. What he told me is it is like a conversation between the guitar and yourself and is it is a beautiful thing because when you answer yourself music comes out.
Empress keep up the great Reactions.....Les Zeppelin was one of the best Rock Bands....Jimmy Page was a superb great guiartist;;;;;Robert Plant was the lead singer...,Bass guitarist John Paul Jones...The drummer John "BONZO" Bonham was probably the greatest drummer in Rock n Roll history..... ......Keep on Rockin Empress
He says he comes in the front door and hears his back door slam. Her lover escaping.
Amaizing 💯💥💥💥🤩🥰🥰😘😘🥰
You are certainly not the first woman to notice how “cute” Robert Plant was. He was definitely a hottie.
The American blues (props to our African American brothers and sisters) from the 30's, 40's, and 50's had tremendous influence on LZ and many, many others 70's era rock bands.
8:12 The moment when the guy realized his girlfriend was going to breakup later that night.
You got that lol 🤣
Actually, it is likely he will probably get laid because Robert warmed her up for him, ha ha.
She's out there somewhere in her early 70's now.
Actually, this is Robert Plants wife, Maureen.
Plot twist... he already stole that girl. It’s his wife.
Great music, great reaction!
One of the greatest blues/rock tracks of all time, your observation that the guitar is crying is so true. The song tells the tale of a hard working man doing all he can to support his girl but he is crying because she is unfaithful to him, and so the guitar weeps. I always think it pays to hear the album version first (which I consider far superior to this (as good as this is) for its precision and control, but thats just my opinion) as a point of reference, then listen to this. If I could only listen to one more Zeppelin track one more time, it would be the studio version of this one.
Great reaction Empress - I just love the way you pronounce Zeppelin by the way! 😉
It's basically a song about female hypergamy and how it affects the every day guy.
@@ctguitarguy8510 well I learned a new word there, though I remain unconvinced as to its applicability here
Ooh there's a great version of The Ocean live I think you'll like :)
I don't know if I ever commented this before, but the band was named because when record executives heard them the first time they said that the group would fly like a Lead Zeppelin... Meaning they were destined to fail
According to many articles your information is wrong, nothing to do with record executives.
It seems that it all started with a conversation between Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Keith Moon and John Entwistle. One or some of them were toying with the idea of creating a supergroup. Moon seemed not to have been too optimistic about their success saying that they would go down "like a lead ballon". To this, Entwistle jokingly remarked that they would probably go down "like a lead zeppelin".
Later, when Jimmy Page was thinking of another name for the "New Yardbirds", "Lead Zeppelin" came to his mind but changed the spelling of "Lead" because Americans would likely pronounce it "leed" instead of "led".
This is about 1972 the year I was born the lead singer Robert plant came from West Bromwich England near Birmingham just a few miles from were I live in Birmingham UK
Mr. Jimmy is a Master of the Guitar.. Next to James Bond, Mr. Robert is the coolest dude on this planet..
(Backdoor actually means Backdoor to a house) Now if U would like to hear a guitar Cry then U should checkout
"Still Got The Blues" by Mr. Gary Moore.. (I know there are several others that do it also, I like Gary).. ♠W.G.
The look on their faces when they find out their grandfather's music was soooo much better than todays.
I saw them 4 times..... Try The Song..... "Thank~ You" By Zeppelin, and Listen to the studio versions before the Live ones.........and also some Robert Plant solo stuff, Like "Ship Of Fools, or "Big Log"
Another beautiful reaction. I really think you would also enjoy Robert Plant in some of his solo work, such as Ship of Fools, In the Mood, Big Log, and a couple side projects like The Honey Drippers doing the song Sea of Love, or Good Rockin at Midnight. I think you will love those!
EJJ... This song is in the style of American "Blues" (feeling sad]. Blues was originated by African-Americans. Led Zeppelin "covers" Blues often.
Lead Zeppelin like many other British bands and singers have been influenced by African American musicians.
Great
" Africa is where man began " ( CHARLES DARWIN ) ...... and music (me)
Thank you, Empress JJ for reacting to this great live track! The band consisted of Robert Plant on vocals, Jimmy Page on guitar, John Bonham on drums and John-Paul Jones on bass, keyboard and everything else! For more of their songs you should react to Thank You, Ramble On, Going to California and The Battle of Evermore. I saw your reaction to the Backdoor Man lyrics Plant threw in there and it reminded me to let you know The Doors had an entire song you should react to called Backdoor Man! Best of luck to you, as always, with your channel!
Thank you Key Mack 🤗
Great ;)
Robert Plant is he singers name. Ya gotta hear "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You"
Robert Plant Lead Singer...been listening to Zep since the 70s
A lot of people think the "backdoor man" reference is about an@l. The lyrics: "I open my front door, hear my back door slam. You know, you must have one of them new fangled backdoor man". His woman is cheating on him with a man that sneaks in and out of the backdoor of his flat.
Thank you! So many people misinterpret that phrase!
one of the best bands ever.....but honestly, they often came off better on track than live; on some tracks anyway. PLEASE try " DANCING DAYS" (also led zep) miss EMPRESS!! :)
Robert Plant is the singer you are asking about.
Didn't get into Led Zeppelin much, enjoying your reactions though!!
The Indian girl you thought he was singing to was his wife Maureen....
And he was definitely singing to her.
Maureen Plant would one day be the victim of a car crash that began the band's slow descent into chaos... but for the time being, the Zeppelin at this stage was on the rise. And Jimmy's solo - taken, apparently, after a fortnight of adrenaline soaked travelling on tour, consuming hamburgers and dope in equal measure - continues to take viewers by surprise. At the screening of this footage, however, it's said that Atlantic Records boss Ahmet Ertegun actually fell asleep; an indication of how hot they were beyond the screen...
