The best asymmetrical horror game I've ever played.
It's a definite classic, that's for sure.

There was someone whom I've forgotten the name of but he did some really long streams of this for charity, I think yearly.
I kinda drifted away and forgot about them, when the gameplay became memery and clowning with friends rather than playing the game.
Still it was cool seeing videos that long of this game.

This game is great. Still play it every week.
Actually, Part 2, 3 and Final Chapter Jason DO run in the movies, and that's something they did include in the game. It's something Kane Hodder has talked about, given that when he played Jason in the movies he did not run but given that he did all the Jason mocap, he did have to run as the aforementioned Jasons.
Once Jason became a zombie, he lost his ability to run. If you notice in "Jason Lives," there are a few times when Jason appears to be trying to run, but rigor mortis won't let him.
Some Jasons actually can run or just walk fast depending on what Jason you chose also you can choose to never be Jason in the settings

You can choose to prefer counselor but you can still be picked to play Jason, just look when in your in the lobby if your name is glowing red, if it is you're Jason.

I love playing as a counselor, specifically the nerd girl who can sneak around, repair everything, and create headaches for Jason. I'll miss this game once it's gone.

The fact that this game is closing down is a reason as to why LAN functionality should be put into any game that can be played online.

Yet another video about Friday the 13th on Friday the 13th. I especially love it since this is also the Month of Horror, so having anything about Jason Voorhees is very fitting.

Just to confirm for everyone yes the game is playable offline. You can start a match with AI controlled characters. It isn’t the best thing in the world but at least the game is preserved in some way.

@@joeofthedragon5089 I don't think so, at least not with AI bots. I tried doing an AI match and the game just automatically put me in the role of Jason. I think the only way to play as a counselor is in private multiplayer matches.

From what I remember you can only communicate with people when you get close to them. So guy I know was playing as Jason and when he would get close to people he would start playing music to let the counselors know he was near, and Train's Drops of Jupiter started playing.
Grab walkie talkies to increase the range. Also beware: Jason can hear you.
You should have grabbed a bear trap put it in front of the door while Jason was breaking in then grabbed the screwdriver 😂😂
I love the videos with John. Glad you brought back this series of just hanging with a friend and playing a game.

@@gunsharck this game has way more depth than dbd, that game is a trash game about camping or starting generators. F13 has multiple methods of escape without camping generators and hooks.

Also there is a 1 player mode were you play as Jason and do kills to unlock the next level and unlock all Jason's and there is even an NES Jason to unlock you would get a kick out of that one 😎

The game is to be delisted on December 31, 2023, due to the license expiring. However, the game will continue to function normally for those already owning it up until at least December 31, 2024.

There is a playable purple (NES) Jason in this game. Shame they didn't see it or at least mention it. Cool action figure though. 😎

Savini Jason was my fav to play as, it was one of 2 that wasn't based on the movies.

What's up the audio? Especially James, it's like the audio was recorded in mono.
James, after the game launched they had server issues from everyone playing the game, so they gave us a "retro Jason" skin for the part 3 Jason, it changes him to the NES colors and puts a chip tune soundtrack for counselors

If you select part 3 jason in the selection screen press the right analog stick in with you thumb, you can then play as retro jason (purple jason) his music is old arcade music from the old game I believe

5:02 Actually, Jason ran in parts 2, 3, 4 and the 2009 reboot. He only became slow moving when he became a zombie in part 6.
I believe this game was highly inspired by a board game called Camp Grizzly, which was inspired by Friday the 13th, so it's kind of interesting how they borrowed from each other. I wish James would check out Camp Grizzly, or Board James that is!

I met my fiancée on this game. I met her on a random lobby in the pc servers. It was bout 4-5 years ago. We have been living together for the past 3 years and its really sad to see this game shutting down. It hold a special place in our hearts . We love the movie franchise and huge fans of the game. We tried to get into the new texas chainsaw game buts it not nearly as fun as f13. Gonna be sad day when the servers fully shut down :(

I had no idea they made a new Friday The 13th video game. Can't possibly be harder than the NES one.
It's pretty much a remake of the old NES game - you have assorted counselors to choose from, you rummage thru cabins, Jason can and will suddenly appear out of nowhere and attack, and you need to search the woods to find Pamela's head.
