      I didn’t notice the contrast from other videos; different perspective from the driver and editing style, but the fsd performance seemed the same, which I believe to be generally good; actually amazing when we remind ourselves that we are watching cars drive themselves!

    You should have reported the dog in the crosswalk problem. Looks like FSD did not recognize the dog and thought the adult human had stopped. This was a training opportunity.

    • @cyborgLIS
      @cyborgLIS 5 місяців тому +6

      Earlier today a lady was walking her dog through a crosswalk with the dog trailing behind her. I felt like FSD started to proceed a little early, before the dog had comfortably cleared the intersection. So I wonder if it doesn’t properly respond to dogs in the road, but rather the human walking the dog.

      I try my best to report too(did that couple of times in my next videos) just that the time when I do disengage it’s because it’s unsafe. So I spend the next few seconds to make sure I’m safe. Two use cases: FSD for personal use and FSD for taxi use. When I first started using FSD, I intervened when full self driving did not drive the way I would’ve chosen. As I gained more confidence in the car’s ability, I allowed it to make its own decisions. I have found the FSD feature makes good choices. The problems can be assigned to navigation map errors in my area. As for humans directing traffic, I have no experience with FSD’s ability to handle. For the human case, just take over. For use as a taxi, more training may be required.

    People have no clue. Situations like 5:55 proof, that AI can do everything very easy if it has learned it. And as long as FSD is not feature complete, it will be a supervised software that needs your attention. Watching the progress from FSD 12.3 to 12.5, you can be very confident that 12.6 is going to blow us away.

      FSD works great to take you to work, but when it comes to events like concerts, festivals or just large gatherings in general FSD is scary. A lot of times the roads are rerouted for the events and cops have to direct you and the car just can’t handle that

    • @catbert7
      @catbert7 5 місяців тому +2

      That's an over-simplified question. FSD is mastering different areas and scenarios at different rates.
      Will they use remote drivers, to take over in situations it can't yet handle, like the human traffic directors, or have it not operate in such places?
      Will they release it by region, instead of trying to activate it everywhere at once?
      Are we talking about all hardware versions being ready, or just the latest?
      Are we talking about when the software is capable, or when it's operating officially, without drivers?
      What does "capable" mean? What accident rate will be acceptable? Because it's never going to be perfect.
      I could go on, but the point is made.

    I bought a used model 3 with FSD 12.3 last week. I would say it's about 85% there. That 15% makes it tantalizing & frustrating at the same time. When there are no other cars around, it's amazing. I used it at night to navigate over an hour home in an unfamiliar place & it was excellent. That was with basically no other cars on the road though. The odd decisions it makes when interacting with other vehicles is pretty frustrating. I simply don't trust it. I find myself talking out loud as the car behaves like a teenager in driver's ed. I'm confident that the car is always going to be safe but I swear it's going to create a road rage incident. Stopping 25 feet before the stop line because that's where the sign itself is mounted? Militantly staying in the center of a wide lane in heavy traffic even though the drivers naturally form left & right turning stacks? Not anticipating the correct lane when the actual pattern clearly goes from 1 to 2 lanes on navigation? "Is it my turn? Better stop & start 3 times at the 4 way intersection!" Also, the highway following distance NEEDS to be tightened up somehow. In "assertive" mode it will borderline cut cars off in the passing lane then frustratingly slows down to create a giant gap with the car in front. Other driver must think I'm a jerk. To be fair, it's only been a week. Over time, maybe I'll just get over it & let the car do it's thing. One thing is for sure though: If I hadn't essentially gotten it for free with the car, there is ABSOLUTELY no way I would've shelled out $8,000 for FSD. It's not even close for that price.

      12.5.1.3 is huge improvement over 12.3.6 and hopefully will be released for HW3. I think it’s 95% there. For “supervised” it already works (very few disengagements). Not there for unsupervised FSD yet.

    • @JustAnotherTeslaGuy
      @JustAnotherTeslaGuy  4 місяці тому

      I heard you on FSD being a “jerk” 😅 it does that a lot on some of the highways here that are using V12. The random lane changes and cutting off people is annoying.
      Like it can do great on most things which is a major improvement because a few years ago, this wasn’t even possible. But it needs to do all the other things great as well for it be truly FSD.

  • @cyborgLIS
    @cyborgLIS 5 місяців тому

    @12:30 I’ve encountered this scenario before and FSD does stop even when it’s green, which I suppose is the correct response. I’m honestly not sure and don’t understand why they place stop signs at some traffic lights?

    • @JustAnotherTeslaGuy
      @JustAnotherTeslaGuy  4 місяці тому +1

      I think maybe because there was construction there prior so the traffic light wasn't working and now it's fixed, but they haven't removed the stop sign.

    You should do some highway testing to show people how v12 performs on highway. Most people seem to believe only v11 operates on highways but there are several highways in NJ that use v12, like Rt 17 and Rt 4.

    • @JustAnotherTeslaGuy
      @JustAnotherTeslaGuy  4 місяці тому +1

      You’re right on! It is definitely using V12 on RT17 when I’m using it. I can do videos on that. But it actually does a pretty good job there, it’s just the random lane changes that I dislike, even with minimal lane changes turn on. It’s the local streets with everything happening that really puts FSD to the test.

    • @cyborgLIS
      @cyborgLIS 4 місяці тому

      @@JustAnotherTeslaGuy Yeah v12 on highway is great, but it’s worth it to see for the people that have only seen v11 on the highway. Its speed control is more natural and automatic, also it doesn’t freak out when another car enters the highway. Also 12.5 on highway fixed the lane change wobble that 12.3 was having. I also don’t have the random lane change issues anymore.

    12:45 to 12:57 I hope you report this. Only tesla can answer why it pulled over at the gasoline station (it obiously did not need gas LOL). Did the vigorous shaking of the car because of the multiple potholes made FSD decide the road was too rough to proceed? If this was a robotaxi it has to communicate to tesla and the passenger why it ended the trip before reaching its destination.

    • @JustAnotherTeslaGuy
      @JustAnotherTeslaGuy  4 місяці тому +1

      Glad it doesn’t need gas, was worried for a second haha 😅
      I am not of the early access users, so I don’t have a button to report things to Tesla. I need to disengage to send a voice note to them. But for the most part, if I need to disengage it is due me and the car being in a non safe situation and I spend the next few seconds to make sure I’m safe and by that time, the prompt goes away. Maybe Tesla can subscribe to my channel and they can watch the videos here lol 😊

      @@JustAnotherTeslaGuy Does voice command work for you? You can also use voice commands to provide feedback to Tesla. Say "Report", "Feedback", or "Bug report" followed by brief comments. Model 3 takes a snapshot of its systems, including your current location, vehicle diagnostic data, and screen captures of the touchscreen. Tesla periodically reviews these notes and uses them to continue improving Model 3.
