How Well Does FSD 13.2.2 Work In Rush Hour Traffic In NYC?
Testing FSD 13.2.2 in NYC for the last time this year. Too many cars and pedestrians, had to disengage a few time due to FSD not being assertive enough. Wasn't bad by any means. But had to end the video a little earlier due to being stuck in traffic for too long.

Hi,this is Devin from Hansshow,do you interested in review our Yoke Steering Wheel?
I love Elon SpaceX, but Elon TSLA FSD sucks as much as Kamala in...pretty much everywhere
"Wasn't bad by any means." It's garbage software that will never work (camera only).
Brake
Wound this feature come to vehicles with stalks? Such as model Y?
It is dangerous to be overconfident in autonomous driving. A passenger plane crashed due to overreliance on the autopilot. ua-cam.com/video/KVPqMSQPBA8/v-deo.htmlsi=8fmY7wnaJNsPhHlb
All I see is you driving bro
It is not a problem if you block 3 lanes to wait for pedestrians. You will never succeed to proceed if you will wait on your own lane... the car NEEDs to be assertive.. you yourself took the bus lane to proceed in a certain situation..so blocking some lanes sometimes to proceed is not an issue...
The blinker shows intent.. so why not let it on even when you are standing still
why do you drive the car yourself? Let the car get out of the parking spot...
Could we collaborate? I am from Hansshow Technologies.
Video is wack, too much unnecessary disengagements . You are very boring
At least let the car do its thing for once bro. Why use it if you not gon let it drive all the way.
Appreciate the stress test! FSD 13 getting better overall. Dense city driving is improving but still a bit of a struggle during rush hour. It needs to develop a very very slow creep so it can slowly move past pedestrians so it doesn't block oncoming traffic or hold up traffic behind for too long. Hard for FSD to find this balance between aggressiveness and taking time in these situations
yeah exactly, finding that balance is hard along with every driver having different driving habits and wanting FSD to do something different.
Stupid, I’d rather slide down for reverse. Better yet, bring stalks back.
Glad my car still has the stalks. If this feature is not faster then what’s the point?
Self-driving through rush hour with the navigation map feels like navigating through veins-it's madness. Fortunately, the car drives itself!
yup, especially in NYC!
thank your for standing in traffic
doing it so you don't have to!
Gosh the Cybertruck looks nice in a Times Square setting
yeah it looks nice and awesome anywhere on the road!
You should trust FSD more! I think it would have definitely handled some of the situations where you took over. Let it correct itself, even if it makes mistakes
Experiences like this advance FSD. This is the worst traffic situation anywhere.
I agree. Not necessarily
4:50 you should at least let fsd make an attempt here. You can’t just take over because you think “I just don’t think fsd will be certain enough to do so (make the turn).”what if you were wrong?
Okay this is bothering me quite a bit because I cannot find a single mention of it anywhere but... How the heck did you get the blinker effect on the ambient lighting, yet having different colors at the same time ?? I was in NYC last summer and gosh traffic here is something else... You got nerves of steel letting FSD handle it !
Answering myself, looks like it's something with the SEXY buttons mod ?
Just Another Tesla Guy has nerves of steel and is as cool as a cucumber.
This is the meat & potatoes of city driving. Stop & go traffic. Slow or stuck for an hour or more. Cars squeezing in. Pedestrian weaving between stuck cars. Cars stuck in intersections. Ugly, but real & common.
必要ない介入が多すぎてfsdの性能がわからない。 あと、車が汚すぎる気がするんですが、カメラの動作に影響はないですか
Wow FSD has lots of disengagements. I don’t think it’s very good.
He's disengaging when he shouldn't, not FSD's fault
These are fake dis engagement. These are not necessary. It was done because the driver is just too scared
I saw other four videos of NY, all are flawless
@@kidstoysdrawings1605 Maybe they didn't show those which weren't flawless...
@ maybe
I don’t know what mistake does it make at 20:22? You can’t turn left when green light is on?
Many busy streets in NYC cannot allow to turn, so not to block the traffic.
Yeah, you can not turn on red in NYC. Too many pedestrians crossing there
I think the disengagement at 4:20 is unnecessary ,because it is not dangerous in any way. FSD may have its own idea, which might be interesting to find out. Also, I think should tolerate some inefficiency of autonomous driving as long as it is safe
It was super unnecessary to disengage there yes, what the car did was perfectly fine and legal.
Not necessary. The arrow shows forward so not at all necessary to switch lanes. Why don't you let the car try to be assertive? You don't need to intervene. It will do so..
lol looking back at the video now, it is def easier to for me to say I shouldn't have disengaged there. but I think right there, with the flow of traffic and all those cars coming, I just didn't want to hold up traffic letting FSD safely cross 3 lanes to make a right turn.
Good video. I would recommend trying not to disengage whenever it doesn't do anything unsafe, just to see how it reconciles the mistakes it makes. If Tesla wants to achieve full autonomy with existing HW4 vehicles, it needs to be able to safely recorrect mistakes it makes at least when supervised, nonetheless unsupervised. But yeah, the aim is make the car create the least amount of these decisions as possible.
_If Tesla wants to achieve full autonomy with existing HW4 vehicles_ FSD v13 cannot even read and understand simple road signs such as Do Not Enter or Road Closed. FSD still cannot consistently handle speed bumps or pot holes. Full Autonomy? That is years away and maybe never .
@@DerekDavis213 Well we did improve A LOT within 3-4 years.
@@DerekDavis213 I definitely don't think it's never. You do have to understand that v13 is the initial version that fully utilizes HW4 components such as the faster AI computer and better cameras. Tesla is working on creating a new version that is supposed to be three times the size and have three times the context length, and with how well V13 is doing already, I think we will see another big improvement from this in performance. They are also using their new server computers to train these models. With navigation data also being a problem, that's another opportunity to improve FSD once fixed. So, it does seem that there is a long way to go to squeeze as much out of this hardware as possible. That's why I haven't canceled out that if this hardware is enough for full autonomy. But, of course, it may still struggle to be unsupervised even after these improvements. Time will have to tell, but I generally agree with you about how it will at least be a couple years. I know HW3 is already reaching it's limits of what it can do, and it's unfortunately still far from being fully autonomous even with the promises Tesla gave us in the past about it.
@@OnlyblakeyXO _we did improve A LOT within 3-4 years._ Yes FSD went from totally incompetent and week, to 95 percent proficient. But in order to reach Level 5 Full Autonomy, the software will have to be 99.99% capable. And that might never happen.
@@DerekDavis213 Correct, it may though!
Lidar is getting cheaper. Tesla should just have them anyways, for safety reasons.
Thanks for the forecast! I have a quick question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
Would you guys know why I am not getting updates? I got my car in September and haven't received one update yet. (24 m3 perf)
Not sure why. Contact the service center through the app.
Did you setup wifi and updates?
@ yeah
Thanks JATG. Can you explain the differrnce between the max speed offset and the speed offset in the autopiolot settings.
I love how you don't push and promote FSD to everyone!
It is always great to see your videos!
Thank you for showing the updates
"I'm looking for the configuration to set the left LED to flash green upon activating the left turn signal. Where can I find this setting?
This setting that I have isn't from Tesla. It's from a 3rd party accessory, S3XY buttons.
@ ah ok
JATG I have some possible suggestions. I would love to see a drive from the center of the ironbound to Newark Penn and from Newark Penn to University Hospital. Also Newark to Montclair would be great. And an attempt to see how fsd does in a parking deck/garage. Thank you for the amazing videos and for an incredible year!
I’ll try to make that happen, I’m glad you enjoyed the videos this year. Happy holidays!
5:34 did FSD just avoid that manhole/pothole??
Maybe slightly? But then it ended up in the right turn lane not turning right lol
why didn't you use the blue button to activate, it would've been more like a robotaxi lol
Lol tapping and holding seems a bit too clunky compared to pressing the button the steering wheel. Plus the wheel is closer than the screen itself. Too lazy to reach over 😂
1:35 disengaged, because FSD cannot avoid potholes 2:48 FSD refuses to turn right on red 6:04 Another FSD miss take 9:47 FSD stops, and for no reason 11:30 FSD is unable to understand the LED road sign
Clutching at straws to find minor issues 😆 in 2050 you’ll be complaining the touch down on Mars was half an inch off target

9:47 it's fine it does not matter. 11:30 wtf are you talking about the car handled it perfectly
@@Supreme_Lobster If the human driver is asleep in the back seat (in the future) then it does matter if the car stops or freezes for no reason. At 11:30 the car with AI, neural nets, cameras, sensors, and backed by a billion dollar datacenter cannot read *simple* *road* *signs* . Any high school kid is a better driver.
Hey friend, this is Hansshow again,do you interested in reviewing our accessories now?No worries we can send you for free
Good to see winter weather drives. I'm wondering how well FSD handles making turns or stopping at intersections when the intersections are extremely icy or slick snow packed.
I feel like it needs custom dynamic maps
Except they would eventually need custom maps for the entire world.
6:06 Are right on reds not allowed on the intersection? I think that's why the car proceeded here further than to the stop line. It wanted to take a right on red here.
The sign prior to the intersection that read “Stop Here on Red” also had a “No Turn on Red” sign (timestamp 6:05).
Is your model 3 AWD?
Yup, model 3 with HW4 AWD. All season tires.
snow tests. yes!
4:10 and 6:05 FSD fails to stop at the stop limit line of a "Stop here on red" sign. Failing to stop at a "Stop here on red" sign is treated the same as running a red light. This bug will be challenging to fix because FSD can not read signs.
You don't need to "read" street signs. The car just needs enough training data to understand them, like a pictogram. That's all. So if they add a bunch of training data with the right behavior there's no need for alphabetical reading the signs itself.
@@RubenKelevra Tesla is taking ChatGPT to read signs and coding it into their platform. It should be out in a couple months.
@JamesAnderson-lq8tf lol. That's the most funny thing I've read today. Keep it up 🥲
@@RubenKelevra Thanks Ruben. You are so clueless it's funny. I have a relative working on the autopilot team and you have no idea. Keep it up. Pictogram. I bet you have a PhD in machine learning.
