Welcome to the second installment of Data Doggo! I was inspired by Data is Beautiful to start this channel because I would catch myself watching every video he put out because they were so entertaining. I would ask myself all of the time "I wonder what happened there" as a bar shoots to the top. Anyways, long story short, after a few weeks of research and sleepless nights, I was able to make this video. I hope you all enjoy it!

The true reason is because for example, The D.R.C is rich in oil reserves but they have high levels of corruption so the government has 95% of the money and resources while the people live in poverty as they have no money. Sad but true

There's no reason for the Philippines to be there. Philippines isn't a newly independent nation (like Timor Leste and South Sudan) and didn't suffer any economic sanctions (Iran & North Korea), genocides (Cambodia), tyrannical leaders (most African countries) and wars (Korea, Vietnam, etc) to hurt the economy badly.

Oh well, this video's ranking was based on GDP nominal which shows the size of the country's economy. GDP per capita is a better gauge since it measures the economy's effectiveness.

JYNX sorry I’ve been on twitter too much lately, and yes you are right, but should specify “Economics”, and what I said in the first comment was correct with the Americans currently in poverty they are in a much better position to than Africans in poverty for example. Poverty tends to have a different effect depending on the country.
JYNX and don’t think you live in a perfect country because the British poverty is much worse, with the percent of brits in poverty being at a percentage of 20% vs the Americans having a percent of 15%. Most countries have poverty and you shouldn’t care about our problems when Britain has it worse.

For India , it wasn't because of war . It was because of aftermath of British rule . India was in this list even without war . India left this list as we eventually grew our economy. Same is true for Pakistan till 1980s , but after that the war factor did have a major role in not allowing their economy to grow as they got involved in dozens of endless full scale as well as proxy wars

STILL THE 5TH LARGEST ECONOMY. Only the matter of time till it retains the position it had once.

No sir, the Indian poor have still been left out since many decades. India might be the 5th largest economy, but admit it that most of the Indian wealth is concentrated into the main cities of Mumbai Delhi etc.. India has a very very long journey ahead
