- My first time taking live edge lumber, milling it down and carving it for a local Subdivision. The timeline was very tight and the chances of failure were high.
this was a good test for the xcarve by inventables and the DeWalt router 1 1/8 bit made it through 10 hours of carving back to back.
Using the inventables Xcarve CNC machine

Nice goin’….. for an “amateur.” Really nice looking sign.
Thank you Tarence!
Its a very cool sign. Fits the area too.
Thanks so much Gage!!!
Good job lotta work from start to finish but it came out looking awesome
Thank you it was a ton of work, price tag still made it worth while for me but if I did it again I think I would change try to be a little more efficient.
WOW!! Amazing Job!! You have encouraged me to try longer boards on my X-Carve! Thank you!! :-)
It's definitely doable and with a guide fence nailed in and drilling a few registration holes things almost always work out.
Good work👍
Thanks so much!
Hey bro awsome work and videos too..so I do some work a little similar to yours..my question is...How are the stained signs you made holding up with the sun? I use stain, same helmsman urathane and the sun messes them up ugly after about a year..and if I spray helmsman on anything white it turns pissy yellow..I’m from south Texas very hot and humid so don’t know if that’s a factor there...let me know..thanks
Wish I could really tell you. I've sent off a lot of outdoor signs and haven't heard back. This one is pretty close I'll have to drive down there and take a look.
Looks great...very nice design...beautiful..i need to buy some of those low nap rollers..is that a fosm roller?..what most people dont realize is that a cnc machine is a cnc machine is a cnc machine...xcarve is just a cnc mschine...any cnc mschine can do your project. I laugh when people think only the xcarve can make a sign...in fact most other cnc mschines will do a much better job. Ive got a xcarve...i nickname it j- carve short for junk-carve cause its junk made lol.
Yes it was a pretty dense foam roller I picked up at Lowe's I need to get more cause it really sped things up. Yeah the Xcarve definitely does not compare to a lot of the other machines, I've done a few simple mods to mine to make it very useful in my shop.

which cnc would you advise to get that is not a huge price tag? 2,000 .3,000 is ok. price . X carve price is good, but seems as you guys think it is junk then not worth the money
@@dadk5470 im not an expert but common sense goes a long way...yes xcarve is simply junk as compared to several other competitors in all aspects. it was ok option relatively speaking back in 2014 when the DIY cnc craze started...but no longer a good option...depends what size you are looking for but for for same price range as junkcarve i would recommend the millright mega v XL or the cnc4newbie newcarve 1000 or the workbee knockoff 1500mm..these are all superior to the xcarve and about same price or cheaper...there are thousands of choices but these are my recommendations...unless xcarve changes their build design there is no reason for anyone to buy an xcarve..its junk...cnc machines should not be belt driven....belt drives are for non load machines like 3d printers not cnc machines...xcarve is and was never a good cnc machine it was just a good option for what was out there at the time...and unfortunately for mr xcarve that has changed drastically in the past couple of years...
