- Being a student pilot is awesome. Learning how to fly an airplane is such an amazing thing, and actually getting a private pilots license is simply amazing. One of the things that will make flight training a little easier is an active noise reducing (ANR) headset. The cockpit of an airplane can be a noisy busy place. You want to be as focused as possible and one of the things that will help during your flight training is to quite the cockpit down with a good headset. It may cost a little bit more, but it will be worth the money. So, get a quality noise cancelling headset and you will be on your way to flying the friendly skies! Let's fly! #russcanfly
absolutely could not agree more with what you said. While I was still green I thought I could save money and buy a $60 headset off Amazon, they died mid flight, then I got a similar headset similar to those in your hand and headphones died mid flight $600 down the drain. Headphones are important to a pilot to protect your hearing and so you can speak to ATC. Bose A20 headset is what I went with in the end and they have not let me down. You get what you pay for. As you said headset is not something to go cheap on
Yeah, I saw a friend of mine, struggling in the cockpit with that passive headset. The other thing, he was complaining of a headache, and I wondered about the pressure that the headset was putting on his head. Thanks for confirming what I thought made sense to tell people. it is important to find ways to reduce the cost of flight training. Flight equipment is probably not the best way to do it. Take care.
I started training with my own PNR headset, after 20 hours I found a good deal on an ANR. Difference is amazing!
