In 1968 I was in the third grade and my music teacher would play this record and put the words up on the overhead projector and the whole class would sing this , I was 8 years old and this brought tears to my eyes , I'm 62 now !
My first big date in while a Junior High student around 1967 was to take a girl to see Moody Blues at the Fillmore East, NYC. A subway ride from Brooklyn and we had an experience of a lifetime.
I actually got to see them live, on my birthday, with the full Orchestra- i had goosebumps the entire evening. One of my greatest concert experiences, ever. They played the entire Days of Future Passed album, along with several other gems..
I am beyond jealous!!! I've seen some of the greatest musicians alive in the past fifty years and I never had the opportunity to see them ... Allow me to cry just a little bit 😢
That gesture is called a "chef's kiss" and is used to show perfection or excellence. Only just learned that a few weeks ago. Appropriate for this timeless tour de force.
A few thoughts... It's still so mind-boggling that this song was written while in their late teens. The Moody Blues were one of the rock pioneers of the 'concept' album. I was lucky to have seen them perform a couple of times, but never with a full orchestra, and my, how extra-wonderful that must've been! ❤
They also had a great concert out in Red Rocks in Colorado as well with a full orchestra. I got to see them in Dallas in the 90s. They were active from 1964-1974 and then 1977-2018. So they recently quit after two of the band members crossed over. They were so talented and I considered them my spiritual band growing up, their lyrics were just magical. So they had an orchestra and ELO had a small orchestra all the time so yay for both!
I am so happy that I was 20 years old when "Nights in White Satin" and their album "Days of Future Passed" came out and I bought it right away. I was a teen and in my early 20s when all this phenomenal music of the '60s was at its height. Music was just so amazing then and I still listen all the time to all of it. I STILL get goosebumps whenever I hear "Nights in White Satin" always sends me in another place.....so many memories flood back, both happy and sad.
🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 Beautiful 👌👏👍🏻 One the same level Try "Procol Harum # Live in Denmark Song is #🎵 Conquistadors 🎵 Or #🎵A wither shade of pale 🎵 Your gonna Looove it Keep the good work Biz 👏 ✌️ 👍🏻
Imagine a 70 degree, low humidity evening/night at an outdoor Moody blues concert with your local Orchestra playing with them. They sounded just like their recordings. Probably my favorite concert memory!
Nights In White Satin is one of the all-time best songs. Add in the Orchestra and the magic of Justin Hayward's voice and you have one of the best classic songs of the 60's/70's.
I was only 17 when I bought their Greatest Hits album. Just love their sound. Always takes me on a special ride. Please react to I'm just a singer in a rock and roll band, and Question. Thx Biz
Great review. Hard to describe how talented they were. All five members writing the songs and four trading lead vocals! If you loved this, next listen to "Isn't Life Strange" live ua-cam.com/video/N5NdcBY1Znw/v-deo.html
I saw them in concert in 1987 in Minneapolis. It was in a fairly intimate theater so they had great backgrounds, lighting and sound. They sounded great in concert. Their biggest hits of that era were "Your Wildest Dreams" and "The Voice".
This is The Moody Blues late in their career. Years ago, I saw The Moody Blues LIVE and got to see them do this son g live. I recommend you do the song: NEW HORIZONS by them. It is another hauntingly beautiful song by them. AND if you want a real rocker by them I recommend: THE STORY IN YOUR EYES.
Believe it or not, Midland-Odessa in west Texas oil patch actually has a decent symphony orchestra. The Moodies toured through there in '92 and played the album with the band as the first half of the concert. Suffice to say they'd never received a standing ovation like they got from the rock fans that night
I saw them live, back in the day. First and only time I ever tried mushrooms. Both were a little mellow for me (MB and mushrooms) . . . but not bad, lol.
An amazing high-energy track from them is "The Story in Your Eyes." I don't know that there's a good live version out there, so just enjoy the studio achievement. 👍😁🎸
One of the most beautiful songs ever!!!

This symphonic performance of the iconic classic was stunning!
40 years AFTER the album version. ❤❤❤🎶🎼🎵

Me too. Saw tmhem in Pgh. ❤
That would have been amazing with full orchestra.
I am beyond jealous!!! I've seen some of the greatest musicians alive in the past fifty years and I never had the opportunity to see them ... Allow me to cry just a little bit 😢
I was lucky enough to have seen them several times in los Angeles
The 25th anniversary tour of Days of Future? I saw the tour at the Gorge in George, Washington.... what an amazing concert experience!
His vocals are as on point as the original version. The whole song sounds phenomenal. 🔥
That gesture is called a "chef's kiss" and is used to show perfection or excellence. Only just learned that a few weeks ago. Appropriate for this timeless tour de force.
This is my parents wedding song in 1971❤❤
U have some cool parents...trust me..I'm 66 now .they cooler than u could ever know ..
That whole concert is phenomenal. Especially “Question”.
It is phenomenal
The Moody Blues are the best classic rock band to ever come out of Great Britain. Justin Hayward has a unique voice. They're incredible.❤
Oh come now.
Absolutely 💯 love this song 🎵
Gods of classic/symphonic/prog rock. Glad I got to see them...
Glorious! We’ll put! Thanks for the great reaction! 👊🎶💙
this is the best live version. 200 plus songs is a lot to dive into...great reaction. these 5 guys have played upwards of 33 instruments on an album
A few thoughts...

Moody Blues were a great band and I’m so glad I was able to see them in concert and the orchestra just makes this song even greater
That was so beautiful. Gave me the chills. Loved your reaction to it,
That is greatness.
Nothin more need be said.
Totally agree with comment below. Great song and best version. So EPIC !! Play it at my Wake !
If I was in a band and had to follow that, we’d just sneak out to the bus and leave town 😂. Perfection.
Lucky enough to see them live twice!
One of the most deeply beautiful songs I've ever heard.
Breathe deep, the gathering gloom.
Watch lights fade from every room...
Only Justin could have spoken this.
But it's not Justin's voice. I think the reader was Graeham Edge.
Written by Graeme Edge, performed by Mike Pinder. 💙💙

That gesture means perfection!!! Brilliant performance, thank you BizMatik! ❤
Wow works...
The gesture you made is "chef's kiss"...
Nights is a great song to start with, this version turns it into a masterpiece.
One of the greatest bands from the 60's/70's. I think their most beautiful song is "New Horizons".
I agree

Moody Blues "CANDLE OF LIFE" is awesome also 🕯️
Masterpiece!
That was EPIC! Might have missed the poem at the end which you don't want to miss. I could be wrong though.
The poem is great! I had most of it down when I was 10!
This song heal my broken soul 😭💔 it gives me hope 🙏
I get a lump in my throat when hearing this song !!!
they were my very first concert-1971
🏆 Oh yeah!
Great review. Hard to describe how talented they were. All five members writing the songs and four trading lead vocals! If you loved this, next listen to "Isn't Life Strange" live ua-cam.com/video/N5NdcBY1Znw/v-deo.html
Justin Haywood is freaking fantastic
Masterpiece
They were the ELO before ELO and deeper songs
Always best with an orchestra. After all these years he still feels the music. I saw them in '86 with the San Antonio Philharmonic.
Grew up with the MBs and saw them live in St Louis in 2003.
Next: Isn't Life Strange'.
Next Blues please, The Story in your Eyes. MUST HAVE SCHLYRICS FOR THIS ONE DEEP"
Good Stuff Biz!
Just a reminder... these guys not only played/performed this music... They wrote it.
I saw them in concert in 1987 in Minneapolis. It was in a fairly intimate theater so they had great backgrounds, lighting and sound. They sounded great in concert. Their biggest hits of that era were "Your Wildest Dreams" and "The Voice".
Great review!😊😊😊
Awesome song and reaction!
Never thought an Orchestra could give you STANK FACE😎
They were like the closest thing to Pink Floyd at the time lol/Perfection
Justin was 67 years at this concert
“Wow” is right!
The song "New Horizons".

Progressive rock at its best!

When they tour the local orchestra will get to play . They get one rehearsal .
Senior Prom theme anyone else?
IF YOU DON'T FEEL THIS SHIT... YOU FEEL NOTHING
I saw them live, back in the day. First and only time I ever tried mushrooms. Both were a little mellow for me (MB and mushrooms) . . . but not bad, lol.
