Gary was a very talented Irish guitarist. He could play with soul & then just rip into it He played in the band Thin Lizzy a few times over the years but his solo stuff is good His album “Blues for Greenie” is a really good album dedicated to Peter Green , Peter Green gave his Les Paul guitar to Gary which is now owned by Kirk Hammet of Metallic

Most so called guitar legends are well known. Gary Moore and Jeff Healey never got the respect they were due. Moore's The Messiah Will Come Again has got to be one of the best live performances of showcasing a mixture of styles that he could play. For a player, you recognize Roy Clark, and a little Santana, Clapton,Gilmour, coming together with Gary's unique attack on the strings and fretboard. And notice, like most masters,he's not going over to use stomp boxes and effects. It's all about volume and tone controls and just pure technique, creating the sound he wants. His use of dynamics is the best I've seen. From soft and sleepy,to perky and energizing, and then shredding all out with crazies screams you can imagine! Who else could play with this full range of emotions like this, orchestrated to perfection?
Now check out Jeff Healey. Blind, playing on top of the neck, with a completely different style of attack fretwork. But he was a great blues rock player. My fantasy concert was to put these two guys together in one concert. They could play their own hits and releases, and then combine to play some classic blues numbers. They both recorded great versions of As The Years Go Passing By. The only other player I know of than could play like Healey is Junior Brown. Who the heck is that? Just another unknown guitar great who plays a double neck guitar,on the top of the neck, that he made for himself. Jeff's attack was more aggressive though. But Junior,oh,he could play Surf guitar and country blues, with a Chet Atkins/Carl Perkins rockabilly swagger. He could also play Zepplin and Hendrix!

Gary Moore is another of the greats gone too soon. He does the best cover ever of Roy Buchanan's song "The Messiah." , and
totally kills it. If you want tohear someone who is the father of bending strings and amazing playing, try Roy Buchanan. I own every record
he ever made. No special effects, no pedals, just his guitar and bending the strings. Never got the respect he deserved. Jeff Beck adored
him ('Cause We Ended As Lovers) is dedicated it to him. SRV said he was beyond anything he had ever seen. Gary Moore called him The Master. But he's mostly unknown except to the Guitar Gods. He was called The Master of The Telecaster. Old School Great.
RIP Roy Buchanan, SRV, and Gary Moore. ua-cam.com/video/DDOIL5OqvYs/v-deo.html
