that's how the cheapest example of desirable german car usually are but if you can't afford a nice one and spread the repairs out over time it's a way in to owning one

My god that engine oil was disgusting I have seen 4 year old 50,000 oil looking better than that. Brake fluid screwing the front brakes unreal, I had the same thing a broken bleed nipple corroded and the extractor snapped.

You can clean suede with a bronze/brass metal brush, FYI.

7:07 a year doesn’t sound like a short time to me if they are worn a fair amount or get a lot of miles on them. I do a decent amount of walking, running, and working out and my running shoes seemed only last maybe six months.

When extracting a broken brake bleeder screw, drill the hole out as much as possible without getting into the threads and use the largest extractor bit you can, AFTER using a torch to heat the screw red hot.
Did the EXACT same thing on my right front brake caliper... regretted afterwards that I didn't drill bigger... 😖 First time it went fine airing it through the loosened hose but next time it just didnt work so I had to replace the caliper.
If this would have been in Sweden I'd gladly taken it of your hands for $10k... Love the classic E39 M5!

*Failing Shoes* ... Here in Europe we have a 24 month statutory warranty on nearly everything. If your shoes for example fell apart here, you'd get a repair, replacement, or your money back. Everybody knows about it and uses it.

Jaguar Xj cars up to the X350 (~2003 i think...) used ball valve a/c ports. I found out when I attempted to charge the a/c and R134a shot out the high side service port! Fun!

Dude, my M62 in my 00 740 also sounds like a damn tractor. I think these engines are just noisy af. And yes I resealed the VANOS, check valves etc.

If you think that old BMW was bad, try buying a new newer one … with even more electronics that would not survive and engine bearings that fail under 100k miles! My 1995 325i will be my last, and newest, BMW.

Suggestion for shoes. Reebok makes a very comfortable leather shoe in black. I have a pair. Sketchers also makes black leather with the safety sole certified for restaurant use. The Sketchers are about $90CDN, the Reebok about $125CDN. Both are under $100 in American money.
$2,000 for single piston calipers? Who's kidding whom? On my old Volvo 240 I had a shop do both front calipers (4 piston Gerling), both rear calipers (2 piston Gerling), all 4 discs, semiceramic pads all the way around, new parking brake shoes and hardware, and flush the brake lines (17 quarts of brake fluid). Parts, labour, and taxes in the total came to $1,700CDN. Im waiting on shoulder replacement surgery so doing work on a car is impossible for me.
that would be a great project car..only problem with OE parts, if not made in Germany or Europe, is that they will need to be replaced again in a short amount of time. Especially the electronic parts and suspension parts. I wish I could get it.

Shoe issue…buy some crocs….they are comfortable and the clean up easily!
FYI you should be replacing you shoes every 6 months if you on your feet a lot. Your back and knees will appreciate it in your 40"S

Paid $4000. Dumped $8000 into repairs. Still broken. Still worth less then $4000. The only value these cheap old BMWs have is UA-cam content.

While I don't like it either, they aren't "trying to be cool". It's a regional thing. It's very common around Pittsburg and KS. Apparently it originates in Scottish English. It does bug me every time I hear someone use it. The other grammatical problem that's common in automotive UA-cam circles is the use of "ran" where one should use "run" (e.g. "The wires were ran" or "it hasn't ran for a year"). In both examples, "run" is the correct word to use, not "ran".
