Congratulations Jake. If anyone here on UA-cam deserves it, it is you.. You are very savvy with your knowledge on a whole host of things for a young man.
Jake showing all of his projects makes me feel much better about the number of projects I have. I can now say I don’t have a problem of having too many projects. Thanks Jake!
I like your channel Jake. I like the cheap car projects - nobody does them anymore. Working for friends can be challenging after a while. Keep doing what you’re doing.
You're VERY talented, Jake, and the very talented brush up against insanity every so often lol. Not to worry! The many skillsets you have - photography, Tech, hosting, videographer and so much more, will open the right doors for you as life unfolds. Just live the authentic Jake inside of you, all the clever sarcasm and wit included, and ever greater opportunities to showcase your talents will seek you out. How could fate resist?
Good on Hoovie, because he actually chose an honest person to work for him that he doesn't have to worry about screwing him over. I think you were wise to do both job's, because it sucks to work and never make enough money to do bigger thing's. You are a young fella, and hanging out with Hoovie sounds pretty entertaining. G-d bless, and good luck.
Glad you hooked up with Hoovie, he seems to be on a happy upswing in life and he can drag you up with him. Hope you are still going to hang out with JR and get into his Shenanigans too. A lot of car people creating in your area so plenty of content to help with besides your own toys.
Grats man! I know the MSP grind. If anything, keeping that role on your resume for a bit will be good even if you decide to work with Hoovie full time and leave the tech role. If you ever interview again for it most of the time people don't fault you for chasing more interesting opportunities.
Congratulations on all of the recent success and opportunities, Jake! I'm sure all of this is well-deserved... just don't work too hard and get burnt out! Looking forward to seeing more of your work with Hoovie (and April, too I guess).
Guarantee you someone is gonna want that Z shell! But on the other note, glad youre with Hoovie now too, and hope to see your projects keep growing alongside. Thanks Jake
Great stuff Jake! Congrats on the promotion and on getting on staff with Hoovie. With that said I hope you keep providing content as your insights on car things are entertaining and informative.
I have seen the aforementioned Good Morning UA-cam and I think that everything you are contributing is great and will only get better. Tell Tyler to brighten up his background because his head disappears into space and it's just too dark. You're the best Jake!
Congrats on the new job! You are going to be one busy guy, but I hope it is all fun. Thanks for the info on the garage door opener! Both of mine just broke, and I was considering those. I currently use the Wyze garage controller on my old genie and it's ok, but a bit laggy to load. Might be that our garage is detached and a good distance from our router.
That's awesome! Happy for you Jake. Maybe you can talk JR into taking on the Ranger lift installation. I think that would go over well on his channel and he'll have the space once his shop is ready.
👏Thank you for all your videos. Been a fan since dinosaurs walked the earth (JR days in his home garage). I wish you the Best of Luck in your new adventures. Wherever you go, whatever you do, may contentment find you there.
Yep, figured something was up since you've been hangin' out at the bunny farm the last several times filming was being done there. I hope you like it, all of it, I'm sure you will. I think you did the right thing keeping the day job you had. Congrats and good luck with having not one, but two Tyler's in your life, a little more than usual
I'm extremely happy for you and did not realize how much we have in common. I also make my living as an IT Manager for one company (two locations) and of course, wrenching and riding.
Chamberlin user here. Also refused to do things thru their setup. Found online groups with discussions on how to refit your opener for use thru your wifi and phone. Will gather links and update this later.
Jake, just watching now. Congrats, number one, but for number 2, can you please do something about how his volume is so low unless he's holding the camera close to him.
First time viewer here, I guess this got recommended because I’ve followed Hoovie for quite a while. About your style of presenting; I guess there’s a demand ”add-energy-to-every-word-everywhere”-kind of presenting that seems to dominate the youtube-space in general. But imho, your laid-back approach makes for way more watchable videos. Keep up the good work!
Hey man. Take a look at the Meross garage door controller. It piggybacks onto your door opener (where the wall switch connects) and is apple HomeKit compatible. If you’re trying to use it with siri while your phone is locked well siri sucks ass. Even if you toggle “allow access when locked” to HomeKit it still won’t work with like a Cardo. I solved this by just disconnecting the door sensor and just say “close the garage door” to both open and close the garage door and it works when I’m pulling up the street and want to ride right into my garage without fumbling for the remote. Hope this very specific garage door information helps you out.
From an IT guy at a big storage company that has underwear older than yours and JR’s IT experience combined. Do what you enjoy man, a CTO role sounds cool but it’s largely learning and advisory. I deal with CTO’s all the time, I feel in your case it’s just a job and not anything you enjoy. So do what makes you happy, it may not align with your financial needs right away but hopefully it pays off down the road. Just don’t get too burned out. And if you are already over 30 degrees in KS maybe it’s time you move to AZ and maybe be Sarah-n-Tuned’s editor instead 😂
Congrats on the new job and promotion! Keep up the great work and look forward to seeing what new content you come up with for the channel- really looking forward to the Miata 2.5 swap, please document that for us at home!
been working two full time not work from home jobs since august. im a pastry chef. tomorrow is my last day at my previous work of seven years. got burned out. good luck
You’re a great guy Jake. Congrats on your promo and new gig with Hoovie. Just some free advice from someone who has been over extended with projects and had to deal with the fallout- take the easiest effort stuff and deal with them to fix a few items and free up space- first thing is to get that Datsun and junk bike off to the scrapyard. Sell the Corvette ASAP and get the Miata towed over to the Wizard’s shop soon. That will free garage space for your BMW for the winter. Recruit your help for the truck to get it movable to a shop to do your lift kit. Reconsider whether the Insight is worth the effort. Get one good size project going and put your focus on that after you have several good running vehicles. Cheers man.
The G604 - great mouse. My original, probably a G602 IIRC, died and I thought I could use some other model of mouse. Nope. No matter what other mouse I tried, including some with a ton of buttons on the left, I was unhappy. I guess I just know what I like. It took me some time to give up my classic Kensington Expert Mouse, the first one I bought with my then-new 450 MHz PowerMac G4. What can I say - when I find something I like I stick with it.
If you have trouble with remembering specs hang a que card on the gimble with the rough outline of the info. Then you can ramble while you reference it. I look forward to the higher quality content.
Good Luck to you Jake. Enjoy managing your time doing things the way you choose your path to go. Just PLEASE don't bore us with more video editing stuff. You're not the first to do that (you won't be the last one either). It's a sign that the channel host is shutting things down and we won't see too much of them in the near future. Same thing happened to Eric the Car Guy a couple of years ago. I know that you have to take care of yourself first. 'Cause if you don't - no one else will. I don't think of this as Goodbye. More Like - I'll see you when I see you. It's been good to know you, Dude !!🤘👍👌
look into installing the Meross garage door opener module - pretty sure you'll be able to do what you want with your garage door now that MyQ dropped the ball.
That man seems fairly happy, or at least he will be when he gets rid of some of those cars. I enjoy the personal EV stuff because they seem attainable. Like if I watch enough I might decide to slap a hub motor on a frame and see how far I get one day. The reviews are interesting because you always give honest opinions of products you're _actually_ using. Hoovie's new project seems like a really low stress deal, and who couldn't use a tiny bit of back up from time to time, so yeah, thumbs up. You've earned a little less stress.
Good for you, Jake. You deserve the good luck. One word of caution: keep being YOU on UA-cam. Hoovie was the first Wichita UA-camr I started watching. He was also the first I stopped watching, closely followed by Watch JR. They forgot what made people want to watch them in the first place. I love the smaller projects you do, the fun you have doing them, and particularly the collaborative efforts with Tyler Grimes. Have fun and good luck.
Well deserved! Just remember to regularly schedule down time to avoid burnout. That said, if you do what you love, it may be a lot of work, but won’t feel like or grind like “work”.
I had a coolant hose where I had forgotten to fit the clip (forgive me access is horrible). The cooling system filled just fine no leaks. Driving around town all fine. Go up a fast road and 1/2 the coolant would be gone in minutes. A borrowed pressure test kit found it but I was tearing my hair out.
Jake your a real talented guy , but I love your car reviews. I views really give me a new perspective, so I am hoping to see them in the future. Happy holidays....
I would normally say "Congrats", but working 7 days a week, even if it's on projects you enjoy/love, will come back to bite you. So not be forewarned, but be ready to take a 2-3 week break sometime in Spring/Summer. You'll NEED it by then! Ok, that said. I did the 7 day a week thing back in 1996 (was 30 then) and played the 2 paychecks....was great for sure and I enjoyed both jobs...but after 5 months....I was burnt and ended up giving up the 2nd/old job. Great work on Hoovie's new project! Very professional...well not the content...Hoovie trying to be funny I guess...but hey, there is April to cover for his lack of something. So you be you and keep the girlfriend happy.....
In regards to the chamberlain rant. Get a Meross HomeKit garage door opener. It works with chamberlain openers. I use one on my chamberlain gate and have the chamberlain HomeKit bridge for my doors.
Nice upgrading of your equipment and your life ! Having a little more income will really make your life a great deal more fun ! Looking forward to see how this works out for you . Buena Suerte Jake
Cannot reccomend Primeweld welders more. You buy a very capable welder that comes with the most important thing for me...about 18-7 customer service from the company owner and QC/testing engineer. The physical machines are very similar to the Eastwood welders and likely made in the same plant to different specs.
I had that model of Z 2+2 in HS. It was a fun car. Looked like a shooting brake to me. It’s a shame to see this one in bad shape, but it’s 45 years old.
When you first mentioned Tyler Hoover vis-a-vis the "day job," my first question was, "Does Hoovie offer a benefits package?" But since you're staying in the CTO position, that becomes a moot point. I hope you can fully enjoy both, but there are weird things that occur when you start working for a friend......Be wary of that, because it's coming. Congratulations on what now seems like pretty good fortune.
It's so weird that I commented to Hoovie a few months ago that he should hire you for your nerd skills.
Congratulations Jake. If anyone here on UA-cam deserves it, it is you.. You are very savvy with your knowledge on a whole host of things for a young man.
Hoovie is amazing at identifying great talent and elevating it. Congratulations!
Jake showing all of his projects makes me feel much better about the number of projects I have. I can now say I don’t have a problem of having too many projects. Thanks Jake!
You have a problem just like me you just have less of a problem I fully know I have three projects and that is two too many
... so if we have many.. many.. more projects than Jake?
Jake you're the man now you can clean your place up
I like your channel Jake. I like the cheap car projects - nobody does them anymore. Working for friends can be challenging after a while. Keep doing what you’re doing.
You're VERY talented, Jake, and the very talented brush up against insanity every so often lol. Not to worry! Jake - maybe you can start another channel vlogging the behind the scenes stuff of Good Morning UA-cam. You can call it 33.3% Jake! I'd subscribe 😎
Grats man! I know the MSP grind. If anything, keeping that role on your resume for a bit will be good even if you decide to work with Hoovie full time and leave the tech role. If you ever interview again for it most of the time people don't fault you for chasing more interesting opportunities.
that garage looks like termites holding hands is keeping it from falling down.....good luck amigo
Congratulations on all of the recent success and opportunities, Jake! I'm sure all of this is well-deserved... just don't work too hard and get burnt out! Looking forward to seeing more of your work with Hoovie (and April, too I guess).
Just remember, if your not having fun, why are you doing it!
To feed my kids. 😁
@@KeithZimfacts. Except I don’t have kids, so I’m just feeding myself.
I have a second family still at school. Love em to bits but it hard work and not low cost.
Beyond happy for you man! Let's catch up in person again soon!
I don’t want to see 100% jake go away I enjoy it thanks
Guarantee you someone is gonna want that Z shell! But on the other note, glad youre with Hoovie now too, and hope to see your projects keep growing alongside. Thanks Jake

Good for you! You have been such a support to John Ross over the years. Good to see return on your kindness.
Working with Hoovie sounds like a dream job . Really liking the new show good job
It's great to hear that you are doing so well finally! Good luck with both of your new jobs!
Great for you Jake! Glad to hear things are moving in a positive direction for you. Keep up the good work.

That is awesome news Jake!
As long as you’re happy and not over welming yourself sounds like you have it all under control
Just make sure to have healthy work/life balance. Congrats on catching your dream.
Congratulations Jake!
Congrats Jake. I did the same recently and left one of the big MSP's to run my old MSP. Its a thrill and I can say I actually have more time!
Glad your doing work for hoovie and really looking forward to the ranger videos off road
Like I wrote on Good Morning UA-cam, you've been killing it with the production work! And congratulation on the promotion!
I'm extremely happy for you and did not realize how much we have in common. I also make my living as an IT Manager for one company (two locations) and of course, wrenching and riding.
Glad to see you getting to use your skills more broadly. Have enjoyed your content and your work on the other Kansas channnels.
love your editing on the new show!!
Chamberlin user here. Also refused to do things thru their setup. Found online groups with discussions on how to refit your opener for use thru your wifi and phone. Will gather links and update this later.
FINALLY, the Z !! I gave up nagging you about it !
I'm genuinely curious about the Ranger project :)
I'm really glad to hear about these changes!
Jake, just watching now. Congrats, number one, but for number 2, can you please do something about how his volume is so low unless he's holding the camera close to him.
thats cause he uses GoPros (iirc), which have mediocre mics

Congrats Jake, like I always say, I'd rather be busy than bored, and you're never going to be bored trying to herd the Hoovie cat, that's for sure!
Wow - double congratulations then! Also an IT admin/analyst here, working for a big University.
Yayyy Insight!!! 🤘🏽😀❤️

I'd love to see Junkyard Digs or VGG take up the offer of the Datsun, but I doubt it'd drive home.
First video of yours i have watched and now I have a new channel to watch..
That is so cool, can't wait for what comes next here!
Good luck in your new venture. Even if it becomes too much, you'll never have the regret of wondering what if.
Congratulations on your recent announcement. ..great news particularly that involving association with Tyler.
Congrats on the new job and promotion! Keep up the great work and look forward to seeing what new content you come up with for the channel- really looking forward to the Miata 2.5 swap, please document that for us at home!

it amuses me that it's branded as a "gaming" mouse, because it's the best business mouse I've ever used
Good luck and congrats on the new endeavor with Hoovie.

New camera? Picture quality is really good. And the answer is yes I see. G/f is doing a much better job as camera operator, kudos.
Congratulations on the promotion and working with Hoovie.
So happy for you dude! Best of luck!
Keep up the good work. Glad to see you doing well!
Very happy for you, Jake. Best wishes from Kraków, Poland.

Hey Jake, love your contributions to the Wichita YT crew. If that's your house, have some pride and clean it up...outside and inside.😢
Burning the candle from both ends good luck my friend and maybe some guest appearances on Hoovies
Well done 🥂
Counting the days to 100k and beyond 🎉
Keep up the great work with the boys and stay humble ❤
Jake, good luck with all the new stuff!! Cheers!! 😎
WOOOHOOOOO.....GREAT THINGS TO COME!!!!!
Congrats and have fun!!!!!!!
A true car guy … always having 3-5 current projects with ANOTHER 3-5 projects in que 😂😂😂😂
Your cold??????? Come to Canada and try the cold out!!!!!
I rather be in Kansas

Congrats on your new life chapter! 👍
Go man go, Jake! Keep us updated and good luck!! EVs? Ugh! Im so over EV vids.
I like your channel because you’re so down to earth.
Good luck with the new gigs!
Best of luck and all the best 🎉
And I thought MY garage gave me anxiety!
