In today's vlog, I walk you step by step through my rainwater catchment system using an IBC tote as a rainwater tank. IBCs, or international beverage containers, are found worldwide and come in various sizes. In this case, I'm using a 275-gallon, or 1000-Liter, IBC tote as a water storage tank that catches rainwater off my roof. These IBC rainwater tanks can be found for sale or for free depending on your location. I have this IBC rainwater tank plumbed to run water throughout my backyard to provide water for irrigation, cleaning, and water for my chicken system. Rainwater harvesting is an easy way to become more self-reliant and can be done cheaply and in a DIY fashion. I hope this rainwater catchment system walkthrough helps inspire you to use an IBC tote or other container to start collecting rainwater for your homestead, farm, backyard, or other personal projects.
