Thank you Mrs Jordan for your gracious and pleasant way of sharing the least pleasant tasks. I appreciate your dressing and acting like a lady too...also a lost art for very many. I literally Googled how to clean a toilet, but many cleaning videod show a really sped up version of someone cleaning and straightening their house. You teach, and with kindness!
Hi Carol. Thank you so much. You hit the hail on the head…I want to teach these skills. That’s why I don’t use speed through videos for these tasks. You have validated why I do it this way. And thank you for kindness regarding how I present myself. I appreciate it.
@@homemakingwithdenise well my husband and son keep me really busy with the bathroom, especially the toilet bowl. I think I have a pretty good handle on it though.
@@homemakingwithdenise I think I most loved seeing your caddy and what you keep in it. Most of the time my kids clean the toilets! They take turns. I have one teen daughter in particular that chooses the bathrooms for her chore because she likes to make sure they are clean! There are 8 of us and 2 bathrooms so we give them a good clean twice per week. If I see one needs cleaning, then I do it. :)

Hi Evelyn, thank you so much for stopping by. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. What was your takeaway? I'm really trying to help homemakers with some of these less than glamorous jobs. What video can I make for you?
No problem. If you thought it others were also thinking it. That’s why I said on the video that it in my home with my family but...next time I do a toilet video, I will emphasize that point and offer an option.

Great video! I have been using natural products to clean as well. I have some hard water stains in my toilet that I really need to get rid of. Can you help me?
You can try a pumice stone on the hard water stains or...something I saw in a video recently...put some salt on a half a lemon and scrub the salter lemon on the hard water stain. That's supposed to work. Now, I've not tried this but I will be trying it this week. I'll let you know my results.
Did you ever listen to James Dobson’s Focus on the Family radio show YEARS ago? He had a guest who talked about helping a mentally handicapped neighbor by cleaning and fixing his house and his bathroom probably had NEVER been cleaned. He said there was nothing worse than ‘hugging’ that toilet while deep cleaning. Very funny story! It is true that most don’t deep clean the smelly, germy nooks and crannies and the whole vicinity. I make my own cleaners and don’t buy the chemical stuff. Vinegar and dish detergent along with essential oils, hydrogen peroxide and lots of baking soda. I also save all my old toothbrushes for the crevices and then toss them in the trash. I wish the current generation could and would learn from those who have gone before us about what REAL clean truly is. It isn’t Febreze and wax melts....
You are too funny but oh, so right. This generation has missed out on a lot because we spoiled them by doing so much for them and of course, the school system eliminated home economics or the domestic arts. They have to learn and I am hoping to fill that gap. Thanks so much for watching. And yes, I, too, am slowly trying to get into more natural products. More environmentally and home friendly. What video can I make for you?
Very good video. I like the idea of having a cleaning caddy just for the bathroom. Is the Bon Ami cleaner good on a fiberglass or acrylic tub? TFS, I really like your content!!
Hi Deborah, the Bon Ami is an abrasive cleaner like Comet or Ajax but it is much milder. It should work on your tub but I'd review the manufacturer's suggestions for cleaning before i tried anything on it other than soap and water. Your best advice will come from them.
"They tend to spray" oh, bless hahaha. That's super helpful though, I appreciate you mentioning the base of the toilet. I used to do custodial work after hours at a primary school including pre-k and childcare students and always made a point to do this, but at home I couldn't for the life of me figure out why the toilet area continued to smell like urine even after spraying it down. Also loved how you mentioned the gloves RIGHT as I was beginning to think that! I have a horrible aversion to toilet cleaning, bad gag reflex, but I guess after so long you get pretty used to it at home.
You know Rikiti, I raised three children and really, what's groadier than a baby? They pee and poop and we just clean it up. And there are days when it reeks to the high heavens but we do it and don't think about it. And yes, men and boys spray! Thank you for watching and even more for commenting. I love hearing from my viewers. What else do you think I should show how to clean?
