It’s insane that movies like Godzilla vs Kong, Snyder Cut, The Suicide Squad and Dune all have a lower budget than all the MCU movies that came out in 2021 and they all have better CGI and special effects.
Dune nearly had 99% of practical effects and minimal amount of CGI to supplement them. Here, it way overcooked
I believe it all has to do with Marvel not wanting to hire more experienced filmmakers for their projects so as to avoid getting into those pesky creative difference conversations. So, they hire relative newcomers who are more likely to kowtow the corporate line.
Even films with CGI that is absent or barely noticable like Se7en, Die Hard or Jaws have amazing cinematography and directing
Hell, Mad Max: Fury Road has CGI in every shot, either it is to change the colour grading or to change up entire settings on a budget lower than $200M and looks f**king amazing!
godzilla vs kong had a smaller budget the black widow
If Captain Marvel got a 1/10 for insulting the MCU's continuity, then The Eternals should get the same score. Sure, Captain Marvel retconned Fury's eye and the timeline of superheroes, but Eternals straight up makes up lies to excuse why they weren't in Endgame, and then IGNORES those lies so that the movie can even happen!!!
Damn, The thing of Fury's eyes even could had potential on making Captain Marvel story better... But not, The stupid director said she "liked to be against expectatives" even if that makes her being stupid.
so how would they come if there are no portal open to them? the only one who had a chance to come to the battle in time is Makkari but it's not like Thanos is livestreaming his battle to the world
If they made the Eternals vanish when Thanos snapped his fingers it would have been a different story
How could they have helped in Endgame when Thanos and his space dogs arrived out of nowhere while they were dead in that timeline ? The main story in Endgame is the Avengers time travelling and make Thanos come back. Seriously have you people seen Endgame ? The big battle at the end came out of nowhere, and this is very convenient that they managed so rapidly to make everyone come to the Avengers building to help. I mean, Strange came back on Titan, Wong came back on the sanctuary, how did they know the Avengers building were attacked and how did they manage to bring everyone back ? Endgame is very convenient, and you excuse all of this because you got your cool fanservice final battle.
I don’t get how the Eternals could have guessed that Thanos would come out of a Time Machine to search an Infinity gauntlet containing stones the Avengers got by time travelling. How convenient and dumb that would be if the Eternals would come in this nonsensical battle in Endgame.

Those who complained they weren’t in Endgame don’t realise how convenient that would be, and how convenient the final battle of Endgame was (Dr Strange was on Titan, how did he manage to contact Wong while he was in space ? Even if he has a phone it wouldn’t work as Iron Man didn’t manage to contact anyone in Thanos’ ship).
I don’t get why everyone forgive all those conveniences in Endgame and not in Eternals.
The problem is two plot lines in one. Part one should have been eternals vs. deviants and for part 2 should be eternals with the help of thanos’ brother vs. celestials
When you mentioned the villains, you forgot about Lia Mchugh’s character Sprite who betrayed the Eternals alongside Ikiras as she had a crush on Ikiras.
For me I enjoyed my time with the eternals as I liked the concept, but I just couldn't connect with any character due to not knowing a lot about them. It shows that I was more pumped for the 2nd after credit scene than the sequel. But that is because I love the character of blade and wanna see the darker side of the MCU
What do you think of makkari running scene compared to the mcu quicksilver and the cgi or sound of the celestial
This movie did the impossible for me: It made me appreciate Captain Marvel a TINY bit more.
Captain Marvel is at least objectively better than the offensively bad Zack Snyder's Justice League.

The Eternals couldn’t fight Thanos because they had to only fight the deviants even thought Thanos is a deviant in the comics but I guess that’s not MCU canon.
Thanos in the comics is an Eternal he just has a Deviant gene which is why he look like a Deviant and usually physically stronger than Eternals

I don’t like being this guy, but every time I like a new movie and I watch a negative review video of the movie I like, I feel lonely and ashamed for liking something that the majority of people hate or dislike.
Same with the Eternals, like I get that it’s flawed as hell and not amazing and stuff, and I also get that there are people that actually like the movie, I still feel ashamed that I’m not MCU fatigued because my opinion on this film is not as the same as everyone else.

Plus, The Eternals not helping against Thanos its in fact what destroys this movie, i mean, they call Starfox (Eros) Thanos' Brother in the Post Credits scene, following the comics, cuz even on Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos in fact defeat Eros and he raimains captive by The Mad Titan Meanwhile he makes the Snap...and in Endgame no one of them was there, even with the Fact Thanos its Deviant and Eternal...
And ppl say "But they don't confirmed Thanos as an eternal" What is wrong cuz first, its basic lore of the character... And second... THEY MENTIONED EROS, AN ETERNAL, IS HIS BROTHER IN THE SAME FREAKING MOVIE!!!

Glad someone else noticed the camera switching between imax shots and widescreen shots. It's hell of annoying and contently distracted me from what was going on in the film to the point where i just wanted to turn it off entirely.
Ya, and the worst part is it can be done quite smartly if it needs to be done. It’s done really well in the dark knight trilogy
Yeah, I was told to just not bother with the IMAX enhanced version of Eternals and I’m glad I listened after seeing some of the aspect ratio switches in this video. I personally liked Eternals, but I think that I wouldn’t have liked it as much as I did if I didn’t just watch the regular widescreen version. Aspect ratio changes can be done well, just look at the films Nolan shot with IMAX. But Eternals didn’t handle it well at all.
Personally i think the Best characters are Druig and Kingo, they were the only characters who made me to looking to the end...with Phastos and maybe Sprite.
And thats all...
And the film being a failure its not Chloe Zhao's fault... At all... It was Disney's and Hollywood in general...
Like the actor of Phastos Husband saying "This will save lifes" and even is not a COOL looking character.
The film does not know what the Hell want to give to the MCU.
How would they know that a Thanos from 2014 was going to destroy all life in endgame? Since no other heroes know ethernals they didn't get teleported to the battlefield.

The reason they started interfering is the learned the truth about Arishem. Before, Ajak didnt tell them. Knowing that Arishem has an ulterior motive made them distrust him and so they interfered.
I think the movie wasnt bad by the way, its not the best, far from it. But I had fun.

the best dc show ever?dang that's an opinion and i sure do respect it but......................i've watched almost every DC show and it's not even close(doom patrol,krypton,smallville,pennyworth,superman and lois,lucifer,watchmen,constantine,swamp thing even arrow s1,2 and 5) are much better for me I'd even say Stargirl is a much better show that peacemaker right now.Sorry if i came off as rude.

What pissed me off is this movie being one big middle finger to Jack Kirby's legacy, thor ragnarok was proof that marvel studios are capable of translating his aesthetic to live action, so why not here? Seriously, the movie looks so dull, and then Kevin has the nerve to claim that they're "honoring" Kirby's work.

Yeah, I have to agree with you on Marvel having a serious problem which it comes to budgeting their projects. Say what you want about Lucasfilm as of late, but one thing that they ALWAYS excel at is with their visual effects department. Whether we're talking the sequel trilogy or their Disney+ shows like The Mandalorian, the filmmakers they hire always make the most of whatever budget they're working with to produce some of the most realistic effects ever put to film (even down to pioneering entirely new technologies to make them happen).
I think there are a lot of bias here.....

Some audience will always refer to the RDJ mcu phase as the standard. But with Eternals there is already a slight shift in approach. We must understand that they were introduced as an ensemble in a movie. The director did a great job minimizing some backstories rather included (to the directors point of view) critical motives to keep the characters moving. There is a reason on what we call sequels/solo movies to flesh out more of its individual storylines.
This is such a bad take. Making a trash movie just so you can explain it further in another 2 hours long movie is just cashgrab. Great movie series are usually written new per movie. What happens in one movie must have a good plot, character development and if you let all these to be split into 2 movies, it's just so pointless to watch the first one.
*Makkari was by far my favorite. They did a great job displaying how powerful speedsters can be. That’s it*
If you enjoy powerful speedsters watch season 1&2 of the flash, maybe 3 if your feeling it but don’t go any further, trust me

The celestial emerge seem to be more dangerous that Thanos’ snap as it results with planet earth being destroyed where as Thanos snap’ gets people erased while planet earth stays intact.

Arishem was a Celestial, Who knew all this eternal stuff, in the movie Ajak say the Snap stopped the process of creating Arishem, but later it get more energy for the solution of the Snap when Hulk snapped Again...and get enough energy to wake up Tiamut and destroying Earth.
Are you telling me Arishem never had an idea of an Half Eternal Half Deviant looking for Cosmic Elements and killing half of living things (even when the power Stone was used by Celestials) on The Planet he watches?
The only way is that Arishem looked the future and saw the two snaps could help Tiamut, but thats not in the film... Then is a Plot Hole, and a really big one, is bad writting on High level, cuz even affects the MCU as interconnected universe.

After phase 3 I was so hyped to see what marvel would do next. So far it’s been ok and definitely not amazing. My biggest complaint is that for some of the movies is that the cgi does look terrible In some shots. The only movies/shows that have been great so far are Spider-Man: No way home and Hawkeye. Other than that marvel has been ok and yes even terrible. I am not even going to watch the 2nd Eternals movie. Thanks you so much for reminding me why this movies sucks

I personally really enjoyed the soundtrack and I do quite like the creature designs. But yeah, I agree very much with you. The “evil Superman” story has been done much better before in The Boys, Invincible, Megamind, etc.
The CGI in the recent marvel movies makes me go crazy at this point.

Yeah, I remember you saying in your Infinity War vs Endgame video that you considered Ragnarok the first great Thor movie.
It is a fun movie. But over time it did get worse. Watching the movie again, I started to notice even more problems with it that I personally had.

Maybe but it a nice node that dc exists in the mcu like their comics and films exists within the mcu just like how the comics referenced eachother from Marvel referencing dc and dc referencing marvel
One of the biggest problems with Marvel these days is that Disney is only allowing their content to be within the MCU. Because of that, there’s no variety. Both the Marvel Netflix shows and Fox X-Men movies were canceled as soon as Disney got hold of them. The only reason that Spiderverse is still allowed to have a sequel is because Sony still primarily owns Spider-Man. Say what you will about Warner Bros, but they are allowing their DC content to not just be set within the DCEU. Films and shows like The Batman, Joker, and Doom Patrol are proof of that.
I know right and it gets exhausting after seeing the same MCU movie with the same tone same goofy characters again and same generic action plot line whatever all I’m saying is just do something New Disney no one’s gonna want these anymore

5:40 it’s not bullshit because Thanos in Endgame came back out of nowhere, none of the Eternals could have foreseen that because Time Travel wasn’t canonically possible before Endgame invented that rule. Thus none of the Eternals were aware that Thanos came back, because he was dead in his reality.

To me, after watching the movie, I ended up being mixed on it. It's not good, but not bad, either. But if I had to say, it leans more to being a bad movie than good one because for me what made the movie bad was not because of it's flaws, but throughout my whole viewing of it I just kept thinking in my head how I could've made the movie WAY BETTER, and if I'm thinking that throughout the movie, that tells you something. So for me, it was wasted potential, which sucks. Enjoyed your opinion, though, I wouldn't make it a 2/10, but I see your viewpoint. Keep up the work, mate! 👍

@@jaydenart9259 Yah, I don't blame you for thinking that, to me, I don't see it as Marvel's worst movie ever, but I don't blame others for seeing it that way. Again, I feel like it was just wasted potential. The only general thing out of this movie that really had me really excited was just Blade. :1

@@jaydenart9259 Yah, understandable. I watched it in theaters and obviously didn't leave, but it was so boring for me. If anything, I wanna check out the comics because I hear they're underrated and that Neil Gaiman (an author) wrote a series, whilst Jack Kirby did artwork for another which sounds interesting.
How could you Actually think act 3 of NWH was only good when Act 2 proved to be as great as well with most characters being in character, memes being good, Norman being able to manipulate the villains, Electro having his good moment, Otto being able to recover, the entire Apartment fight, the whole fight with Peter abd Strange, Peter trying to make the best choice in helping his foes, May trying to help Peter out, the entire Highway fight between Peter abd Otto, the fight between Peter, Sandman, and Electro, Peter working with Norman, all the stuff. Don't Really get that.

The CGI are very good. It uses a natural photography this is why you think it’s fake, but when you look at it closely it works very well.
I totally disagree. I loved the movie. It kept me engaged the entire time and flowed well for me. I think for a lot of people including yourself gave gotten spoiled with what a marvel movie should be. It definitely isn't perfect and the cgi is whack but if u take the story at face value like I do with every one of these films instead of a critical eye, then I think ull like these type of styles for marvel movies.
