Dude, I’m pretty new to your channel, but I am so impressed. I found you because I’m interested in the Samsung LS9T. The things you measure and report on are details that matter to me, but I’m surprised in that you actually do it. I find that with most UA-cam videos, I can play at double speed and still get all the pertinent information from them. But yours, I can watch several times over and keep getting more detail from. I almost need to play it half speed to fully get everything you’re saying. Okay. This is starting to get weird, but anyway, thank you for what you do and how you do it. I hope UA-cam is paying you well - you’re a true professional.
I agree! I got interested in projectors as I find they’re easy on the eyes and I too just found this channel recently. I’ve been using a cheap £200 1080p long throw projector for over a year now and finally got the courage to purchase the lsp9t today after watching your two videos on this model. It’s costly but my room isn’t that big so throw ratio was a big factor for me. I had my eyes on the optoma p2 but decided against it. I just hope I made a good decision today! Who knows… I may even create a video about my experience on my UA-cam channel one day 😉
Samsung DON'T HAVE... *DOLBY-VISION. and DOLBY-ATMOS and DOLBY-TRUE-HD* Don't heve E-arc* That Means that Even if you Add a Sound Bar, you Won't have Not Enjoy 100% Dolby Atmos Either. 🤮🤮🤮 and...😍the SOUND is SUPER-VERY iMPORTANT🥰
The Sammie LSP9T since I own it. :) Plus, the 0.66 DLP chip just looks a hair sharper to me, but simply could be my bias. I am also not prone to the laser speckle phenomena so the Samsung again works great for me. I do like the flexibility of changing the screen size down the road and also the shorter throw distance is an advantage for me in my setup. The Hisense is a solid contender though and is impressive given it still utilizes the 0.47 DLP chip. If laser speckle bothers you, then the Hisense is definitely the easy win at those price points discussed in this excellent H2H comparison. Thanks Chris for the wonderfully thorough comparison!
Excellent review - good side-by-side comparisons, emphasized the important differences, very informative, to the point without wasting the viewers time. (This was a revelation after having watched a well-know company home theater company do a "review" of the L9G which was a 15-minute read of its spec sheet!)
Hisense INCLUDED in your the Price is *ALR-SCREEN* valued at Over $1,200🥰 and...Samsung DON'T HAVE...
I prefer the Samsung cause of the bigger 0.66“ dlp chip which gives more detail in 4K UHD content. The 0.47“ dlp chip on the hisense is ok but removes some details. For me also the throw ratio of the hisense for 120“ is a show stopper since i dont want to have the projector standing in the middle of the room. Great review! Thank you.
It actually doesn't give more detail. I had a whole segment about this in the video but after I did more pixel peeping they were nearly the same and removed it. Believe it or not, the Hisense actually has an advantage because it has slightly better focus uniformity. That's the benefit of a fixed projection size.
@@ChrisMajestic Thats very interesting. I only compared it to a long throw 0.47“ which I own and there is a huge difference and also all general technical analysis between a 0.66“ and 0.47“ show quite big differences between a 4x and a 2x pixel shift. I wonder why it was not visible for you. Is it possible that the hisense has a 0.66“ too? I mean that big resolution difference between those two chips is almost impossible not to make a difference. On the other hand from a certain viewing distance it is sometimes even hard to tell big differences in good fullhd material and 4k movies. The hisense seems to be a very nice product. Does it also have laser speckle and just less or does it not have any speckle at all?
@ChrisMajestic hello Chris can you do a video on how the Samsung talks about 20,000 hours or 10,000 movies cause all I do is watch movies and play video games so I'm trying to see should I just keep my oled but I definitely want a bigger screen that 130 inch but how long will it last
If you ever do a calibration on either one please let us know the detailed steps. That will help tone down the oversaturated colors of the lsp9t and hopefully increase the shadow detail and black level of l9g
You're the only recommendable reviewer on USTs. Do you plan on doing a few more of the budget USTs? Popular on Amazon/Reddit such as: Epson LS300 Xiaomi Mijia Wemax NOVA There's lot of other reviews on amazon/reddit and even youtube too, but they are less than helpful as they're usually very surface level and don't have a point of reference to other projectors (understandable as many people don't own much more than one UST) I am sure you have a huge backlog of things due to the amount of testing and production you put in, but just thought I might throw it out there! Also wanted to note, I hope you have a black friday deals round up kind of video!
Even I'm surprised to know that DLP supports only up to 60fps which makes me wonder what is the point of HDMI 2.1 120Hz inclusion. Thanks for your detailed comparison.

I have a DLP with 120hz@1080p (the Optoma HD29HST) and the difference between 60Hz & 120Hz is absolutely dramatic. Especially for platform and rally games, the difference is so huge I can't play 'em on normal TV anymore. I dont know how they handle the 60-120fps conversion at optoma, and how they do it in HiSense, maybe someone can enlighten us...
Outstanding review sir. You really go all out to explain the products and you do it so well. Can you do a video on the different types of screens for the short throw projector. Keep up the great work
i don't know why people care & gave a S about apps & Operation system on these or on TVS , most people i know don't even use it or those one use it , having problems down the road with APPS ..is the damn cheap fix ..Just throw a Chromecast TV for $50 or Roku or shield is way better in APPS Operation & everything gets updated automatically, worry free , BUT between this 2, i take Hisense.. Pic & colors better & more accurate an that whitish washed out Samsung 4:15 , of course is fixable On Samsung , but still , after all %99 both the same! BUT ya Hinense would be my choice 2 ..but prices is laughable, kinda rip off & Not gonna get close to that , thats why i bought VAVA Chroma...Great comparing👌
Hey thank you for this video it’s very helpful and made it a lot easier for me to make decisions on what to get. I wished I had watched your other videos before buying a rumba.
Great vid, kudos! I’ll keep an eye out on this tech, but for now it’s a no go. I do hope that the next years these laser tv’s get better and better. Can wait to see how much better the next generation will be
We have ordered a demo of Samsung LSP9T, they will bring it and install it into our house. This should be some wow effect and a good reason to compare Epson 5050UB afterwards, after knowing how good is Samsung. 😁
Great review! Projector Central did a review of the Hisense and specifically used the sand worm scene in Dune and how the active contrast mode really cleaned it up. I’m wondering if you could do a compare of how the Samsung did as well on that scene?
To my eye, the Hisense has a much better color and better contrast. The Samsung seems washed out in some scenes. The other thing I don't like about the Samsung is the white color of the projector.
Its not in reality like that. The Samsung is definately not washed out at all. Must have been either the settings or the camera which blew it like that.
Both projectors have threads for mounting underneath, presumably so they can be ceiling mounted. All the disadvantages of ceiling mounting a UST laser projector aside, does the software support inverting the image for ceiling mounting?
Thanks a lot man. Have been waiting for this comparison to pull the plug. I am going to use it in a light controlled room so which one would you suggest?. Currently lsp9t is at a huge discount. Can you also suggest a good screen to pair with lsp9t?
As I mentioned in previous comments. Although 120hz is not viable due to the limitation of the projection. HDMI 2.1 will have higher bandwidth allowing 4k60hz 10bit 4:4:4 to pass through.
As I mentioned in previous comment, I have a DLP with 120hz@1080p (the Optoma HD29HST) and the difference between 60Hz & 120Hz is absolutely dramatic. Hi Chris...thank you so much for this comparison. What an amazing job you did and you are so informative. You are the best on UA-cam when it comes to projector reviews. ONE question.....if we through the EPSON LS500 into this mix, would you still say the Hisense is the best option of the three? I have been considering the LS500 for months now but not sure if you agree with this or not. Any info would be helpful. thank you
Great video Chris! Have you by chance compared the L9G to the PX1-Pro? They seem fairly similar as far as specs go, but curious if it performs as strong as the L9G in ambient light conditions.
Nice Video Chris! Do you plan on reviewing the JMGO U2 4K Tri-color Laser TV? I would love to hear your thoughts on how it compares to the Samsung LSP9T and Hisense L9G Laser TV's!
Great review! thank you ... When you say the HiSense is missing the Netflix. Does that entail that Netflix can't be used? or it needs to be downloaded from the Playstore?
Hi Chris Loving the content As you know screen , projector and speaker choice is hard unless seen in person and not to mention installation . All your hard work and entertainment is greatly appreciated. I actually have many screens and projectors. I have a ls500 with a 100inch chiq fresnel screen . Apart from the reflections off screen on the ceiling , I preferred to the soft alr (lenticular) as better colours and safer from damage. I like the Epson for lag 16ms, colour, brightness and amazing hdr (better than I have seen from any other projector and many tvs ) . However it eats me up inside that it is only 2k and so much softer on details. Also so far away from screen so awkward. Anyway I got a Black Friday deal on 88 l5 with sonic screen. Could you tell me if either have advantages over other? Before I go ahead and change everything around did you try move any l5 around to see if focused mattered or could be changed at all say a few inches? I doubt it. Also have you tried the sonic screen? Just I heard there were complaints and not as good as soft screen? Atmos sound any good? With regards to 4k120 I have found many projectors and tvs that support 4k and 120fps can get to 120 if dropped to 1440p or 1080p source and obviously whatever its still 4k (in pixels). So try see if you get 120fps at 1440/1080 that would be interesting to see the lag as will be halved or quartered. Like the optoma uhd42 etc but the quality quite bad for movies. Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Look forward to more reviews
Hi Chris, i would go for the Hisense L9G overall. Is it possible you can make a video Hisense L9G vs Formovie Theater? I hear really great info about the Formovie theater. Thanks in advance and keep up the great work you're doing.
Both of those UST projectors are single-DLP, which necessarily mean they are sequential color. Sequential color is a 1920s-era technology that is wont to produce color-break up artifact, better known as rainbow effect (RBE). RBE can induce headaches to those sensitive to it, and it behooves every single-DLP manufacturer and seller to take it in account and warn those who plan to buy their products to test view it first to gauge their sensitivity to hateful infernal RBE. Though the 3 lasers mean the sequence of R, G, and B can be flashed faster than any former color filter wheel can rotate, RBE is a constant unpredictable nature of any sequential color system, which should just be left in the 1920s. It is not fair to equate a single-DLP projector to professional cinema projectors or even start comparing them together because the latter are all 3-DLP, which means they are guaranteed free of any RBE. The only way to not get RBE is if the projector is 3-chip (3-LCD, 3-DLP, 3-LCoS). If a 3-chip projector is too expensive to obtain, better just stay with a big TV. It is too bad that the superior 3-laser design of the above projectors are all abjectly wasted on just a single-DLP. The holy grail of any UST projector design is 3-laser with 3-DLP (or 3-LCoS or 3-LCD), and have it priced around $5000, give or take a thousand.
@@ahmedshamsulhuda9729 Triple laser merely means there is no color filter wheel anymore. But, there is still just one single miserable DLP. The three lasers flash to produce R, G, and B in sequence to swamp you with lovely migraine-inducing rainbow effect. Manufacturers like to drumbeat the triple laser or triple LED; of course they do not have to mention single-DLP because single-DLP is a near-given in the vast majority of domestic projectors. I suggest you read up more on projector primers, including but not limited to the dramatic difference between single-chip and 3-chip.
Big fan of your channel, hoping to upgrade to a UST projector in the next year or so. I'd be super interested to hear your take on the less expensive LSP7T, especially with regards to the other projectors at that price point. It seems like there's so many different mfg's fighting it out in the ~$3500 range, which for me is about my budget. Anyway thanks for running such a rad channel!!
Good video Chris love all videos keep up the great work!! Wanted to ask about the Def tech center? I have the CS9080 center and it’s in media center… does it need to be above the cabinet to sound better or is it muffled in the cabinet?? Love to hear your input! Wednesday I’m receiving my new Def Tech 9080X in couple of days and I can’t wait!
Thanks Chris! I'm looking to do an upgrade to my aging JVC projector shortly (budget ~$2k), and I'm hoing you will review some recent native 4K PJ's soon. - 135" screen and total ambient light control.
Which JVC are you looking to upgrade? If you are looking for a standard throw projector I am afraid you are going to be sorely disappointed in what is out there compared to the JVC. The best affordable alternatives for JVC lovers like us (I own an RS400 bought used) are the Epson 5050 and used JVCs but the ones near $2k are not native 4k. It is a shame JVC is unwilling to offer anything under 5K…
@@garryhammond3117 For movies and TV I would recommend a used JVC from the RS420/520/620 or RS440/540/640 series. My RS400 does not handle HDR well natively. It can be corrected with an HDFury device but you should be able to find a later one that handles it better under $2k. The best new projector in this price range to me is the Epson 5050 as it is very bright and has decent contrast. Both the Epson and the older JVC's are not native 4K but use pixel shifting technology to present a greater than HD image. The JVC's are not the best for gaming as the input lag is not the best so if that is important I would look at the Epson. The contrast of the cheaper 4K DLP projectors is very poor compared to your JVC so it is really hard to recommend them if movies and TV are important to you. I use a super bright DLP as my sports with lights on projector in my theater but as soon as I want to watch a movie I switch over to the JVC. If you can boost your budget to $4k-$5k then you should be able to get a JVC NX5 which is native 4K and handles gaming much better.
It’s not that simple unfortunately. I think it’s specific to Sony cameras. When I set the shutter to 1/60 it should be perfect but it somehow gets worse. I’ve tried a ton of different shutter speeds. I used to shoot with a Panasonic GH4 and it didn’t have this issue. I just upgraded to a new Sony A7iv so hopefully it’s better.
Maybe in the next comparative you could make a final list showing wich one is better and I don't know but maybe Samsung could improve with its own screen, don't you think? I'm waiting for that video!!! Thanks great work
Hey !! Great videos man thank gor all the information. I currently doing my research trying to figure out which project I want . Which would you prefer the Hisense px1 pro or the Hisense L9G I’m purchasing a motorized elite screen .
Hey Chris, Great comparison points and informative editing. I am looking to buy between Epson Ls500 and hisense l9g. 50% gaming and 50% Movie/tv. Mostly adventure 3rd person gaming. Not sun drenched but decent ambient light living room, not fully light controlled but have blinds. Could you tell me which one is an overall better projector long term? Thanks for the advise.
I am also wondering why the EPSON LS500 isn’t mentioned as seems it beats the Hisense. The issue with EPSON is lack of eARC and native support for lossless Dolby Atmos. Also, the throw ratio is further from wall. But Epson is a lot brighter, a lot cheaper, 3D support, significantly less refresh lag. But I don’t know about picture quality. All are 2K projectors with shifting to 4K. So, with EPSON, need to use Amazon Fire TV plugged into an eARC splitter for Dolby Atmos into a soundbar. Meaning, not use the onboard software but that of the FireTV.
Would also love to hear him weigh in. The Epson throw is worse and I’ve heard it’s blacks aren’t great but the faster response and being 3d capable makes it quite appealing if image quality is close.
Since this thread is getting bigger, let me weigh in. NOT A REVIEW. Just views. I bought the L9g. I am a casual user. Have decent ambient light in living room. I don't have a dedicated room, neither will ever have one. I like living room theater. Start with hardware. Great hardware. Throw distance is fine for me. Will need adjustment so be mindful going for it. Sound is surprisingly full. Of course 5.1 will be better. Picture quality great. On wall is good. more than just viewable. Black areas appear grey. But this is a projector. So....expectations. Also I am using on a wall+ambient light. Colors are a little saturated esp. reds but can be adjusted. Gamed with ps4. Shadow of colossus just looked amazing. So did Horizon Dawn. Input lag was good. No issues while playing non competitive. waiting for my screen. Let me know if any other questions.
Great review 👍 as always. Since I am now owning a long throw Epson with matching electric screen, is an alr screen a must, or would it be possible to use my old screen? Or are there retractable alr screen's? And I heard that some UST projectors can be used behind the screen, is that true? And if so would it work with a retractable (alr) screen?
Chris, great comparison and product knowledge. Please share your expertise on the specs of the wall required to mount the 120” Hisense screen. Thanks Brother!
I could be wrong, but I think the reson the Hisense supports 120hz even tho it displays it a 60hz, is because is possible the HDMI input can still supports certain features added to the 120hz signal through the 60hz. But again o could be wrong. I do believe there is such a thing as a bandwidth compression which I believe is what the Hisense is doing. But I don't know to much about bandwidth signals, so I wouldn't know if there are any benefits to it. It could also be for future software updates. Who knows.
Hi, do you think correct that the projector himself cost more thatn than 2,000 dollars and it must be pair with that Ambient light screen that cost almost same price as the laser TV? Will be ok to hook up with a cheaper protector screen instead? 🤔
Hi Chris. Do you think the black levels will be better with the Cinema screen that comes with the Hisense L9G? Also, did adjusting the that setting to get the black levels down actually affect real world content or could you not not notice much of a difference? I really want to get this projector but the black levels are scaring me.

Hi Chris, greetings from Singapore. Im looking at getting a projector for my dedicated movie room, width 4m x length 6m. Movie room is light controlled with black wallls. I am leaning towards the L9G. For projectors below USD8000, what would u recommend? I know long throw projector may be better but i like having built-in apps in the projector. The L9G in SG market is slightly different and doesnt run on Android. It has built in Netflix app. But only has hdmi 2 instead of 2.1, had ARC instead of eARC. What projector would u recommend ?
Good day Mr. Majestic and thanks for sharing! An IMPORTANT video for me. I am in the process of doing a COMPLETE make over of my dedicated home theater space. I am TORN between a High Quality UST like the Hisense L9g and a entry level LG, JVC or Sony Laser Projector. I would VERY MUCH like to see YOU to a Shoot Out between the L9g and one of the aforementioned Long Throw Projectors. Is the Picture Quality comparable? I believe this would be a video MANY of your followers would benefit from...
Another thing about these projectors is that both of these projectors are the only display's that have 100% coverage of the Rec2020 gamut. For comparison The new LG C2 has 72% coverage of the rec 2020 gamut.
Hi Chris, I want to get the LG 810PW for customer. Im having a issue find information on how to replace the laser unit in the LG, is that possible? If not, what does LG charge to replace it? Thx Chris, love you channel. Im going to post this in several places so you dont miss it.
AcerL811 native 4K UST projector with very short throw ratio. Any thoughts. I am checking among Samsung L9 premiere, Hisense 9T and Acer L811. Samsung is expensive, Hisense and Acer comes at similar price range
Thanks, Chris for your good review although I have a couple of points if I may. Regarding the comment about the LSP9 having more shadow detail, was the ambient light sensor on the L9 on/off ? Lastly, the average reaction time for gamers is about 270ms. Top gamers can maybe react down to 150ms so I'm still perplexed by the focus given to response times. That's not directed at you BTW, just putting things into context. However, I do agree that lower lag times will make the image look more fluid with less judder. Both are great so thanks again.
The ambient light sensor was off during the entire video except the black levels portion where I mentioned it. I'm not sure you you're a gamer or not but input lag over 100ms is noticeable even for casual gamers. It's not immediately apparent to everyone but it's a feeling that has a drastic negative impact on gaming performance. If you A/B test a TV/projector with low input lag vs very input lag with a fast paced game I guarantee you will notice a major difference. I consider myself a casual gamer and I find FPS and other fast paced games unplayable over 100ms. I will say that I find anything under 30ms negligible.
Awesome to see Chris responding to so many of these comments. You're spot on when you say most humans, even professional gamers don't have a faster reaction time than 100-150 ms, but that doesn't exactly mean you can't see or feel input lag. The reality is that input lag is an additional lag that is added onto that reaction as it delays when you input onto the screen. If you've ever plugged in your laptop to a large tv with 100 ms input lag you would feel the difference just when moving your mouse cursor. I'm having a tough time myself picking a projector as I'm concerned any of the projectors nearing the 60-100ms mark would render many complaints considering the household and friends play a lot of smash and fighting games. Glad to see more and more of these pricey tv and projectors aiming for sub 30 (especially the Epson LS500 at around 10ms!).
I just got the Samsung LSP9T! I love it but it's pretty useless during the day in my space :( I'm interested to see how far along they come 7ish years down the road when I start looking for my next one :D
They already have what you are looking for…. You’d be looking at Fresnel screen which would boost contrast in high ambient light at the expense of viewing angle. Doubtful there comes along anything in terms of projector or projector screen technology that could remove the effects of ambient light given the limitations of light physics. However, we might have less expensive very large emissive display tvs (maybe flexible roll on OLED screens?) in 7 years.
The HISENSE 100" can be had for $5,999 in Australia - $4,500 US, the Samsung is closer to $9,999 - $7,500 US. Seems the HISENSE is a no brainer in Australia.
If you were picking a projector now and weren’t wired for a longer throw, would you opt for a ust or is getting the room wired still worth it in your opinion?
Hi Chris, great comparison and thank you. I am not a gamer and have a Stewart Balon Borderless 100 inch screen, gain 1.1 with 73% light rejection in basement home theater. I watch in the dark. It seems the Benq 7050i may be the best choice for me in my room/screen setting. your feedback would be much appreciated.
Did getting the black level down by adjusting the setting actual effect real world content so that the Hisense is about on par with the Samsung or could you notice notice much of a difference when watching actual content?
Any chance you're going to get your hands on the JMGO U2? Other reviewers have noted it's extremely quiet fan and no whine. I can see it's a big box! It's also tri laser but should come in cheaper than the Samsung. Even with adding a screen. Thanks. J
Can you tweak the colors on the Samsung? It looks like the tint is set to cool. Not a fan of how blue the image appears. It looks far sharper than the Hisense though.
Is there a real difference between in image with these projectors and the LG HU85LA? Because when I see the videos I don't see any big difference in quality and mine is even brighter in some cases, maybe the darks and when connected to a monitor, but nothing that will make me changing my current lg vs these new ones. Anyway, good videos
Hey Chris. Hisense release a 2021 L5 model and they call it L5BDL. Do you have any input like is there any improvement over the previous year model. I am planning to buy one any input is greatly appreciated
The new Sony cameras like the a7siii and the a1 let you use a variable shutter speed which actually lets you completely remove horizontal lines while filming projector screens and other things. Super expensive I know but thought it'd interest you. It's let me use my projector as a backdrop which was impossible before
Woah that's great to know! This was shot on the A7iii. Thanks. I was looking for an excuse to switch to the S. The shutter issue has been bugging me ever since I switched to Sony. My old Panasonic GH4 didn't have this issue.
@@ChrisMajestic I'm not 100% sure but I think the a7iv (the new one) actually also has it so you could just straight upgrade to the newest of the same and still have the feature
Nice job!!! I am considering the Samsung for an outdoor theatre. I could use some help on picking the screen for outside can you provide some help please?
Hi man!I need to replace my Optoma cinemax P2 due to a beamer issue (fortunately Amazon will solve easily) but i’m not so confident to buy another Cinemax…too fragile…what do you suggest?I’ve a fixed 100” 21:9 ALR screen…any help will be appreciated!
Who knows… I may even create a video about my experience on my UA-cam channel one day 😉
Ffrfr,
That’s a sub right there

Excellent review - good side-by-side comparisons, emphasized the important differences, very informative, to the point without wasting the viewers time.
@ChrisMajestic hello Chris can you do a video on how the Samsung talks about 20,000 hours or 10,000 movies cause all I do is watch movies and play video games so I'm trying to see should I just keep my oled but I definitely want a bigger screen that 130 inch but how long will it last
@@dcaddell1505I'm an in-door guy myself. With the rate you are going, it won't last to that time. Maybe this will help you touch grass more often.
If you ever do a calibration on either one please let us know the detailed steps. That will help tone down the oversaturated colors of the lsp9t and hopefully increase the shadow detail and black level of l9g
This is by far the best channel for tech. Im hooked on you. I’m buying one of these for my new house.
Can I connect Hisense to sonos
You're the only recommendable reviewer on USTs.
Do you plan on doing a few more of the budget USTs?
Popular on Amazon/Reddit such as:
Epson LS300
Xiaomi Mijia
Wemax NOVA
There's lot of other reviews on amazon/reddit and even youtube too, but they are less than helpful as they're usually very surface level and don't have a point of reference to other projectors (understandable as many people don't own much more than one UST)
I am sure you have a huge backlog of things due to the amount of testing and production you put in, but just thought I might throw it out there! Also wanted to note, I hope you have a black friday deals round up kind of video!
Hi Chris! Congratulations for the video comparison. Hisense wins hands down. My personal opinion!
Would you gets the Samsung over the LG cinebean?
Can’t wait to see how the VAVA Chroma stacks up. Are you planning to review the XGIMI Aura?
Yes the XGIMI please!!!
is not gonna be fair comparing, Aura got less feathers an Chroma
JMGO U2 is another nice one 2
Definitely interested to see where the Vava chroma comes in after they push the update they keep talking about at the end of the month
Same here. It’ll be a great fight between the three. I’m rooting for the best at 150 inches
What is the update and what does it do?
In my eyes the Hisense won by a landslide, the color, contrast, black levels and brightness. There's absolutely no comparison!!!
Should have went to spec savers
But it compared vivid hisense to bright samsung...wasn't apples to apples.
I would like to see the Epson vs the LG HU85LA next or just your top picks for 2022 soon! Great videos by the way!
Even I'm surprised to know that DLP supports only up to 60fps which makes me wonder what is the point of HDMI 2.1 120Hz inclusion.
Thanks for your detailed comparison.

I also love the auto geometric feature on the Hisense. Made setup super easy once the projector was leveled.
Hey thank you for this video it’s very helpful and made it a lot easier for me to make decisions on what to get. I wished I had watched your other videos before buying a rumba.
Thank you for this comparison. can't find too many reviews like this. you got a sub from me!
Great vid, kudos! I’ll keep an eye out on this tech, but for now it’s a no go. I do hope that the next years these laser tv’s get better and better. Can wait to see how much better the next generation will be
Got my hisense px1 pro this week, and I am loving it, just need a decent screen now
Would like to see a comparison video of the L9G vs L5F to help evaluate if the extra cost is worth it.
Really appreciate this video (well done!). You left a lot of food for thought....
I cant wait to see your best projector video for 2021!
Love these videos! Please review the XGIMI products? 😀
To my eye, the Hisense has a much better color and better contrast. The Samsung seems washed out in some scenes. The other thing I don't like about the Samsung is the white color of the projector.
Agreed
Its not in reality like that. The Samsung is definately not washed out at all. Must have been either the settings or the camera which blew it like that.
You can’t compare video quality through a UA-cam video.
I saw the same things.
Great video
Good to see more projectors comparison to know which one works best for us.
Thank you ..
Both projectors have threads for mounting underneath, presumably so they can be ceiling mounted. All the disadvantages of ceiling mounting a UST laser projector aside, does the software support inverting the image for ceiling mounting?
I would like to know this as well
Yes you ceil mount close to screen and invert the image
Thanks a lot man. Have been waiting for this comparison to pull the plug. I am going to use it in a light controlled room so which one would you suggest?. Currently lsp9t is at a huge discount. Can you also suggest a good screen to pair with lsp9t?
great review thank you! I was just about to buy the hisense based on the 4k 120hz (for gaming). Maybe next year
As I mentioned in previous comments. Although 120hz is not viable due to the limitation of the projection. HDMI 2.1 will have higher bandwidth allowing 4k60hz 10bit 4:4:4 to pass through.
That I get. What I don't get is them putting 120hz on the port.
@@ChrisMajestic Chinese Hisense marketing "guru" said to do it "it will sell more of them!!" LOL ;) :)

This was an excellent review. Thank you so much. :)
I love your videos. Ive watched them all. MAKE MORE! haha
Also it would be really great if you can score these out of 10 for brightness, black level, shadow detail, sdr and hdr performance.
I'm starting to do written reviews on my site. I may consider doing this there.

Hey noticed you didn't mention the game enhancer mode on the Samsung. Was that on when you were testing the refresh rate ?
Hi Chris
Loving the content
As you know screen , projector and speaker choice is hard unless seen in person and not to mention installation .
Thanks for video, it is very informative. How about Samsung The Premiere LSP7T vs Hisense 100" - L5G Series, which will you choose?
No. Both of the models are triple laser.
Great video Sir, when will you be reviewing the XGIMI Aura ?????. Thanks somewhat interested in it. I trust your input. Thanks again.
UST Projectors are a growing segment and prices should come down in the next 5yrs but I'd like to afford this top quality now!
@@marcalvarado1915 Thanks! - It's a DLA-RS45U standard throw. Do you have any recommendations? I'm not really interested in short throw.
Just here for a thumb up 😄 Greetings from Germany 👋🏻
Hey Chris, you can eliminate the horizontal lines by changing the shutter speed in the camera to mtch the frequency of the projector
I just upgraded to a new Sony A7iv so hopefully it’s better.
weird, I have a Sony A7iii and I don't have this problem. I live in europe though and use 1/50 bcz of the 50hz
I'm in this boat too. Chris, how does LS500 stack against these that feel pretty all-around great? Thanks!
Thank you for the detailed review.
Need to add the BenQ 7050i to this comparison list
This is like my 6th time watching this video…man this is a hard decision. I need to make a choice fast. I’m ready to buy!
What did you end up choosing?
Great review 👍 as always. Since I am now owning a long throw Epson with matching electric screen, is an alr screen a must, or would it be possible to use my old screen? Or are there retractable alr screen's? And I heard that some UST projectors can be used behind the screen, is that true? And if so would it work with a retractable (alr) screen?
Love your work big man 💪🏽
Chris, great comparison and product knowledge.

Great work, keep going 👍 👏
Good day Mr. Majestic and thanks for sharing! An IMPORTANT video for me. I am in the process of doing a COMPLETE make over of my dedicated home theater space. I am TORN between a High Quality UST like the Hisense L9g and a entry level LG, JVC or Sony Laser Projector. I would VERY MUCH like to see YOU to a Shoot Out between the L9g and one of the aforementioned Long Throw Projectors. Is the Picture Quality comparable? I believe this would be a video MANY of your followers would benefit from...
Great content as always.

Where?
Chris, great video. What do you think about AcerL811 native 4K?
I think your looking at the old 5G model, 9 g is not released in Australia yet
@@thunderboltsrock4304 Videopro in Qld has it for release in January. I was shocked too. Cracking deal.
If you were picking a projector now and weren’t wired for a longer throw, would you opt for a ust or is getting the room wired still worth it in your opinion?
What about the LSP7T Vs the L5G? Would be interesting to know which is better in their lower priced projectors aswell.
I'd love to see how these stack up against my older UHZ65 from Optoma....it would be interesting to see how a nearly 4yr old projector compares...

Thanks. J
Great review thanks
Can you tweak the colors on the Samsung? It looks like the tint is set to cool. Not a fan of how blue the image appears. It looks far sharper than the Hisense though.
Is there a real difference between in image with these projectors and the LG HU85LA? Because when I see the videos I don't see any big difference in quality and mine is even brighter in some cases, maybe the darks and when connected to a monitor, but nothing that will make me changing my current lg vs these new ones. Anyway, good videos
The biggest benefits these projector have over the HU85LA are color vibrancy, significantly better focus uniformity, and better input lag.

Hey Chris. Hisense release a 2021 L5 model and they call it L5BDL. Do you have any input like is there any improvement over the previous year model. I am planning to buy one any input is greatly appreciated
Will u review the jmgo u2 because on paper it comes really close or even better with the tri laser
The JMGO U2's maximum screen size is only 100 inches.
0.66" DLP Chip(Samsung) VS 0.47" DLP Chip(Hisense). Game over! No doubt.
The Hisense is so much better in my opinion except the throw ratio but that isn’t too bad
Are you able to set up and use the Hisense L9g without the included screen?
Still enjoying my Optoma P2. Not sure when should I upgrade it 😂
The new Sony cameras like the a7siii and the a1 let you use a variable shutter speed which actually lets you completely remove horizontal lines while filming projector screens and other things.
