- Screens just keep getting bigger and bigger in my tech life, but this one took the most effort and might have yielded the best rewards. The Hisense L5G is a 4K Laser TV -- an ultra short throw projector that pairs with a 100 inch screen to create the home theater I've always wanted. It took a lot of work to actually set up, but I think the Hisense L5G has proven its worth as a great way to enjoy just about any kind of content, even games! I am an advanced installer for a tech company and yeah I can't agree more. These short throw projectors are tough on setup lol. Glad I'm not alone thinking that.

Thanks for doing this video. I plan on building a home theater shed and want to move to a projector. I have a Hisense TV now and now looking in the future for a projector. This thing is awesome. I know the setup maybe a pain, but it's going to be worth it due to building a shed. No light. Insulated. I'll have dark walls and either the ALR screen or get projector paint and paint the spot. This excites me for the next few years when I can build it!

Awesome video. How close are you from the screen with a 100" screen? I am interested in the 120" but not sure how close I want to go.

I purchased the Hisense 100" - L5G Series - Ultra Short Throw Smart Laser TV Projector with ALR Screen my question is can I upgrade to 120 inch ALR or any 120 inch Screen?
No, it's pre-focused for 100" only... the 120" version is pre-focused for and has slightly higher brightness for 120"
Where can I obtain the operations manual to explain all the picture settings for the L5G which I own?

Does this projector use a single laser and a color wheel to create the colors? Does it suffer from the "rainbow effect" when your eyes move across the screen, typical of all DLP projectors (due to the colors being presented at different times)? I usually find DLP projectors absolutely unwatchable except for static boardroom presentations (and even then, problematic). Does Hisense's tri-chroma product avoid this problem?
