The firmware mystery is so strange. I've gotten 3-4 OTA firmware updates since I got the PX3 and I've heard that so many people are stuck on the June firmware.
Very strange. I spent at least 3 hours fighting with it before giving up. At least we know it’s capable. I just finished watching your ultra short wrap up (I purposely waited until I was done with this video) Great job as usual!!
I had talked to you about the Hisense 100" ALR Frenal screen ( the hard screen, not the stretched kit screen ) that arrived on a 8ft skid in a huge box. Paired it with a VAVA 4k and it is AWSOME! Thanks for the recommendation. The future is frenal, as you said.
Great review again. Nice and unbiased. I’m hoping you’ll get one of the Valerion projectors to review as they seem to be getting good reviews. Be nice to hear your opinion on them.
Thank you for the video! I feel like what's missing - and maybe I'm weird about this - is a video on reliability among manufacturers. So contacting retailers and getting information on fault-rate. If a $3000 projector has a 5% chance of failing at 2 years then I'm going to choose another that looks 5% worse but will last double the time on average. More relevant for Chinese projectors, for which I can't seem to find 4-5 year warranties in Europe.
Got the PX3 PRO for e few day´s now here in Europe. The International Version does not run on Google Tv but instead on Hisense own Vidaa Software. I had the Formovie Theater before but this PX3 Pro blows it out of the Water. The only thing that they could add in the menu is a Focus Reset. more then happy with it 🤘🤘🤘
when i bought my VAVA CHROMA few years back with their 120" ALR screen , would NEVER go back to regular TV , well would be only for bedrooms , everyone i know lovin this Projector in pic & Brightness & when i bought Hisense 75" U8H TV from my bedroom last year , absolutely lovin this brand & the TV ..great in pic & blks , i would getting this on holiday Prices for sure & for now on gonna be my go to brand comes to TVS & Projectors!
I have the Hisense 100" ALR Frenal screen ( the hard screen, not the stretched kit screen ) that arrived on a 8ft skid in a huge box. Paired it with a VAVA 4k and it is AWSOME! I had conversed with the host of The Hook Up and he felt it was a good screen. Thanks @TheHookUp for the recommendation. The future is frenal, as you said.
Apparently the lense is improved because they have some partnership deal with Leica, since Leica wanted to start making their new UST $$$(Cine 1), and Lifestyle projector(Cine Play 1). So either Leica helped develop their lense, or a deal for Leica lenses in return for Hisenses projector know-how. I only caught this info in another video from a CES type event with a Hisense Rep, haven't heard anywhere else. On another note, why why why didn't they also make the ARC port 2.1 😩. It will force me to abandon my AVR 2.1 ports, and plug next-gen consoles directly into projector. It's not world ending, but it is annoying they didn't put in more thought regarding typical home cinema setups, given they are the traditional home of projectors. Great vid, thanks :)
Thank you for the all the in depth info!! Would you prefer this over the AWOL 3500? I am also looking to use the projector mounted on my deck. So also some daytime use.
@@ChrisMajestic Thank alot. I have a covered deck and want to watch sports during the day, but would use for movies and other things at night. So its not just uncovered but will be brighter out there.
This is all new to me. Something else for me to spend money on. And it is not cheap. But you explained it with everything you need to know and expect. For some reason 100"s seems like a bit overkill for me until I see it in person. Then "I have to have it."
one of my favortie things about projector is no glare or reflections!! Now when I go to someones house with a tv, all i see are the reflections. Projector for life for me
Thanks for your reviews Chris! So, considering I'm into watching 3D and HDR movies on a relatively dark ambient, which Laser TV would you recommend? Absolute best and best quality/price?
Appreciate its a different proposition- but interesting that HiSense will add 3D to their UST projectors, but there’s nothing on the tv side. It seems on the surface that the latest very large, very bright screens would be ideal for this.
This looks great. I currently have an Epson 5030ub, but want to upgrade to a 4k projector. My room is set up for a long throw…are there any advantages sticking to a long throw, or is it time to go short? Thanks!
Chris, do you believe the Hisense PX3-PRO will provide the overall same quality at 150” ? I really want a 150” but if the quality will drop too much I will lower the screen size.
Thanks for this review! Couple of quick questions. What size projection is your set up - 120"? Also, what's the minimum ceiling height to project a 120" image using a standard TV bench?
Great review Chris, as always.!! 🎉 Please may I ask does anyone know if this projector, or similar, have 'Digital Zoom' so the Image can be 'Zoomed In/Enlarged' using the Remote?? Thank you g
sir, looking for advise from your expertise point of view - I am just now putting my toes into the Projector Realm of home theater. I can either UST or long throw. I can get a Epson 5040 or 5050 for 1000 - a JVC NX7 for 3000 or a this Hisense.....out of the ones listed which would you suggest would be the best overall the older epsons, the previous gen jvc or this Hisense...?

Hello chris, do you onow if its possible to use the px3 speaker as a center speaker? Really considering this as a replacement for a tcl635-75 , other option would be an epson 3800 or 5050 (but keep the tcl behind the screen). I game quite a lot though. Center speaker placement could be an issue
Chris can I ask if I would get ALLM and 120/240 fps if I pair the Hisense PX3 Pro with my PLAYSTATION5 Pro console (the newly launched pro version is what I have). Also does this have a theatre/cinema mode where true 24fps for movies can be seen without the television effect (also known on some models as the Directors mode or Theatre mode). And does it support Dolby Vision content though the Apple TV 4K (latest generation). Thank you.
Objection; the spec list lists both "4k native" and "pixel shifting". 4K native is a DLP or panel (LCD or LCoS) that's actually 4K, not pixel shifting.
Native as in native resolution of the projector, not the DLP chip. I’ve done multiple videos on 4k certification and pixel shifting. I’ve even pixel peeped native 4k lcos projectors next to 4x pixel shifting projectors and nobody in the room could tell the difference. Now to be fair, not all pixel shifting is good quality but I wouldn’t dismiss the technology altogether.
Hi. I have been about to pull the trigger on a Hisense PX3 Pro UST projector with a Floorrising ALR screen for about $6000.00 CAD. I just discovered that the expected life span of a UST is about 3 Yrs while for about the same money I can get a 100" OLED tv that has a life span of about 11 Yrs. The bottom line is if I buy an UST I will spend about 15,000.00 vs. $6000,00.00 in the same timeframe. The $9000,00 I will save definitely overshadows the small advantages of the UST. So, I'm here for clarification. Am I reading this correctly or is there something that I am missing? My main function with either would be as a computer monitor and rarely will I watch movies or tv. By rarely I mean perhaps Once a Month but as a computer monitor it will be on all day. I would be very grateful if you could point me in a good direction considering my particular application. Thanks.
@@ChrisMajestic thanks for responding. The information I got said for the UST about 20-30k hours of operation while the tv says about 100k. That is useful information though. Thank you.
If there would be no rainbow effect this would be a good option for me. But i still prefer a lot more LCD projectors than this DLP's because they don't have a rainbow effect.
@ChrisMajestic 💔 my old Samsung TV can do a decent job at 3D'ing anything so hopefully someday UST's can do the same. I hope you review the Formovie Premium soon!

It's bright enough to watch SDR in general but if the SDR content has a dark scene you're going to want to close the curtains in order to really see what's going on.
It’s my screen lol. It was hung in a hurry with the hooks too close together causing the screen to bow at the top. You’re right though. I definitely need to fix it.

A friend recently bought the Hisense 100U76 for $1800. It destroys his Sony 4K projector at every aspect of picture quality (except size) and the mini LED direct display is 60% cheaper than the projector. He has now listed his Sony projector for sale since he no longer needs it anymore. I myself rarely use my JVC 4K projector in favor of my 77S90C. I mean no offense but $3500 for the PX3 (not including a screen, sound system, interconnects, installation, etc.) is absurd. Anyone who buys that instead of a 100" TCL or Hisense direct display for under $2000 is an absolute fool.

Hey Chris what UST LASER TV PROJECTER Do you use for your personal use for movies.
How does it compare to the AWOL 3500 Pro ?
