Buy The Simpsons/Futurama Crossover Crisis hardcover! amzn.to/3UNR6rS
Please do the Radioactive Man series. If memory serves, the numbers are non-sequential and they parody different eras in comic book history. It’s pretty much perfect for this show.
I would buy but I already have it 😅
I am loving all of this crossover episodes, but it's a shame that none of them has a proper crossover whit another UA-cam channel, a crossover whit Comic Tropes or Casually Comics would be fantastic.
I have it already. Along with a ton of other Simpsons comics.
Whoever did that thumbnail nailed the art style. 10/10
The thumbnail for this video looks more like the art style of good The Simpsons than the sterile and flat look that modern The Simpsons has.
Is it me or did they make sal a bit too slim?
@Zachattack2490 well maybe it's all the coke zero
It's drawn by James Lloyd, who drew the comic!
@@Zachattack2490 With art you always make them a little thinner, or way fatter. He looks better slim for the frame size.
This episode is worth it for the Sal lore alone. The fact that Sal has a nemesis out there somewhere that hates him because of a Simpsons opinion.
It's funny, as a kid I did like the newer episodes for their more newer animation, but I now enjoy the older episodes for their clever writing and comedy.
I pity all members of the POPulation who skipped this one based on the title and thus missed out on such a wild story haha
Fear not, Sal, for the POPulation shall assist ye!
"Get ready for the lowest viewed episode in the channel's history!"
We'll...show...ye...
Also, releasing this the week when the Aurora Borealis is meant to show up at this time of year, at this time of day, in certain parts of the world is wild. You are some kind of sorcerer.
"Bruce, you are an odd fellow but I must say, you steam a good rat" - Robin, the boy wonder, age 12.
I like that. POPulation
best comment
Robots don't say ye!
We did it, y'all! Good work, Population!
Sal: "I didn't really like Futurama"
Sal for the next hour: *encyclopedic knowledge of every Futurama episode ever aired*
Wow, Sal. That must have been some Put Put Golf place...
Sal: Oh, she was.
Sal summoning Aurora Borealis in the midwest just to promote this episode is insane. That Comic Pop magic is wild!
Sal: “I had opinions on the Simpsons, but so did another man. As I rained blows upon him, I realized there had to be another way. Out of that, a new tradition was born: a backissues for the rest of us”
Well, you don't see that every day. To quote Palpatine "a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one"
This is the quote right here!
I would buy a poster of that thumbnail.
......we need to hype this ep. There needs to be more
This is totally not my scene being a persnickety youngster, but I want you and your Simpsons fan kin to have nice things for all the memes the shows provided
"What killed the dinosaurs?"
"ME!"
This episode has everything. Simpsons, Futurama, violence at put-put mini golf.
“I’m gonna make an honest woman out of that Jukebox” absolutely killed me😂
GOOD NEWS EVERYONE!
comic pop dropped a new episode.
“Seeing how Fry’s his own grandfather” I’ve never seen too much Futurama but my buddy just told me about that episode at work two days ago
"This is the show, folks!" Had me cracking up.
Absolutely love the thumbnail!
Simpsons and Futurama, come on internet, you know you want it!
Sal's communication skills are at max levels for this episode. Explaining multiple franchise injokes in an entertaining way.
When you said this would be a crossover episode of two books you never covered I was expecting something like Red Sonja/Vampirella or Freddy vs Jason vs Ash. Not to be bombarded by nostalgia by Simpsons/Futurama comics crossover that I had back when I was a kid, they were the only comic books i was able to buy in my local grocery store and I loved them so much.
Aurora borealis, localized completely within the ComicPop studio?
I by far am not dissatisfied I am very pleased this is perfect lol
There’s Sal crapping on Sports Night again. The most underrated comedy sho-…I can’t. I can’t even lie for the joke 😂
I was just trying to remember what the first episode was when he mentioned that lmao
My eyes shot out of my head like a cartoon character when I saw that thumbnail!! HELL YEAH!
THIS IS THE EPISODE WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR! Let's go!!!
Given the thumbnail, I half-expected this would be animated or just have the picture of you all as Simpsons characters the entire time lol
The fuck did I just watch. I LOVE IT.
Believe it or not sal, i HAVE seen this crossover. I read it as a teenager and have been convinced i was the only person who ever read it. Now there are two of us.
Everyone on the couch losing it was great.
Saw the tweet about this a few days ago and someone could not have predicted how absurd this episode would be 💀
Even if I haven't seen it in years, I think it's indicative of the hold The Simpsons still has on me that the mere mention of Moe's Bar having a Bidet at 21:54 made me laugh the hardest I've laughed in a while. I was eating too, I coulda died.
I remember at the first comic-con I went to I got to talk with the artist while he was sitting there drawing this. He kicked my ass at Simpsons trivia then gave me some trading cards. Good times.
“Go Bender! Go Bender!” “You the best Bender!” “Shut up baby, I know it!”
This crossover is wild. There is a space pirate captain harlock reference xd
I love “this is the show folks” at the bottom of the screen!!!
I was gonna click this thumbnail out of curiosity. Then it realized it was Comicpop!!
Also, a parking lot fight over *The Simpsons* is one of the nerdiest things I've ever heard.
This is definitely the most unexpected episode from the channel. That thumbnail rocks, kudos to the artist
We need to push this episode to everyone so it does great and sal is mote inclined to do all these random great comics.
Amen!
I don’t care about Simpsons or Futurama, but I had to come comment that this thumbnail is the best thing ive seen all year
Ok, the thumbnail got my attention. Bravo.
What a great time to be alive.
That thumbnail is awesome!
Hahahahahahahaha. I was not expecting this. I’ve never watched Futurama so this will be interesting
Ok gotta admit y’all got me with this one I was NOOOOOT ready. Can’t wait to chop this fable with y’all 🎉 COMIC POP WOOOOOOOOO
What a hell of a thumbnail😂
Love the Thumbnail, as someone who has owned a number of Simpsons comic books I feel seen.
Holy shit, I would never have guessed this. Like, ever.
I might actually have a cow, man.
This is why I pay Internet. Let's go!
Finally, we've been waiting for Simpsons comics. Since the beginning of back issues lol
Everybody losing at bender fucking everything remotely robotic is killing me😂😂😂
OMG we had no idea this comic was a thing, and it sounds like an absolute treasure to read. IDC if this does get low views, this makes me wanna rewatch old simpson and futurama now
I have never seen a comic book make Sal retrospectively laugh so much.
Dude I have been watching some Futurama and Simpsons clips lately as I am a fan of both shows....and now Back Issues crossover with the Simpsons and Futurama crossover? SOLD!
Most unexpected Back Issue ever!
I NEVER KNEW I NEEDED THIS TODAY. WE HAVE TRULY BEEN BLESSED
Seeing Sal genuinely crack up is wonderful and now I have to own this book
I own this book! I bought it at Costco of all places years ago, it's so fun!!
Yall are crazy for this one lol. I’m here for it!
Oh my god!!! I love that you're covering this! My sister got me this exact hardcover for my birthday years ago and it was amazing. My favorite bit is Grandpa talking to Professor Farnsworth about inventing the comma so asthmatics could breathe when talking.
This is gonna be fun
"The Critic is funny as hell"
YES!! THANK YOU!! Best episode ever already 💛
Commenting for the algorithm because I desperately need more bizzaro episodes like this.
I haven't watched the episode yet, but I already love it. The thumbnail is absolutely beautiful and whoever made it deserves the world. I hope that Sal is wrong and that this episode gets watched by more people than usual.
I didn't know this book was a thing! Also, amazing thumbnail
James Lloyd was an instructor at Langara when I was doing my Comics and Graphic Novels certificate. The guy has an amazing skill at building perspective and backgrounds, he’s able to rival your Geoff Darrows and George Perez in terms of scale on the page. Super humble and nice guy.
Okay... How Brad Willams would like to say "This is gonna be good"
Now this is an unexpected crossover! Also, Bender just doing what he does best is hilarious. But that golf story and seeing Sal, Ethan and Ben crack up hysterically is even more hilarious.
ALRIGHT. I ADMIT IT. 1000/10 Thumbnail. And this is Canon? 👀👀👀😂
This is one of the gold standard of how to do a cross over… Also, this is easily one of your top three best video thumbnails
This is maybe the more out of left field episode of BI to date. Love it!
One thing I always thought was odd about the Simpsons comic was that Skinner's wig was a frequent joke that never showed up in the cartoon
I can tell this is about to be a fun episode lol
I was not expecting a Simpsons or Futurama comic, and I certainly was not expecting a Penny Arcade reference.
Every time you have said 'a reference no one will get' I laugh, because I did get it.
3 crossovers in a row! Now, we just need a catchy name for crossover month...
Crossover MAYhem
58:47 Here's my nerd "um, actually" moment: Smithers is dressed like Captain Harlock.
The episode of The Simpsons that Sal hated is called "Maximum Homerdrive" it's the one that Homer and Bart drive a truck that has the automated driving system in it. Marge and Lisa buy a doorbell and it doesn't stop ringing.
4:14 I think that's the first time I've ever heard someone describe Scully era Simpsons as "Too smart for some people".
1:12 I exploded with laughter! Thank you, Sal!
When you started talking about Quimby and the ball of yarn, and then Bender Punching Fry in the face, that’s when I thought to myself “oh, this is gonna be a good one XD”
It's a good time to be a Simpsons comic fan with yearly reprints of the Treehouse of Horror Volumes
Don’t usually watch newer episodes due to the backlog I gotta get through but I gotta support that fire thumbnail
As someone whos barely seen any of either show, this episode was incredible! As always an incredible episode guys!
The recent seasons have gotten better
Not a crossover, but this episode gave me strong vibes of when I read Bill & Ted's Most Triumphant Return. It was also a comic that really nailed and distilled what made the source material great while also sort of outshining the eventual actual kind of okay episode/movie.
I'm a big fan of the Simpsons and Futurama, I coincidentally decided to wear a Homer t-shirt today, I have to say I loved the video, from the moment I saw the thumbnail, until the last second.
Straitah upah! This made me go "Marge, do I deserve this life?"
This is 1000% my jam
This is not anything I would ever have expected you to cover, but I’m so here for this
I didn't even know this was a new back issues episode, cause UA-cam didn't tell there was a new episode, and that thumbnail wasn't the usual one...though I love it.
When I was young I probably bought more bongo comics then DC. This is a welcome surprise.
BTW there are a few good episodes in seasons 10-12. With Iconic lines. 12 is my hard cutoff.
4:19 All it takes is a single comment to turn a conversation into a demonstration of what it's like to be on the receiving end of a Jojo-styled beatdown.
YESSSSS. I’ve been waiting for you guys to do this book since you first suggested it like five years ago.
This episode was worth it just to witness the sheer joy exuding from Sal!
That thumbnail is perfect. This crossover was fun.
Thumbnail caught me by surprise when it came up. Pretty snazzy, and another great Back Issues!
No way!! I had this as a kid and I don't think I was familiar enough with either show to fully appreciate it, so I didn't think it was all that good. But now, especially after watching this episode, I bet I'd love it. I'll have to see if I still have it the next time I visit my parents.
I have just started the video, but I must say. That thumbnail is amazing!
Made sure to watch this the moment I saw it. There is exactly zero reason this episode should work but it absolutely does!
That thumbnail is fire and I'm hyped for this
