@@brandoncolis3841I wouldnt say that. Fry and Bender both have traits similar to Homer but at the end of the day theyre different enough to be their own person.
It's interesting how Futurama started before The Simpsons switched to digital despite Futurama being all digital, it always catches me off guard seeing Futurama references in cel animation.
2:54 Bender Rodriguez is basically Homer Simpson without the moral compass of a wife and children of his own. Not to mention no organic body. Also, it must have been fun for the voice actors to slam their Boss without consequence.
Episodes after the crossover bender is in the basement when marge uses him as a safe for their life savings idk the name of the episode tho because in the crossover episode he sets a timer for 1000 years and stays in the Simpson basement until he’s back in the future
It makes perfect sense actually. Because these guys live in the Simpsons. They wouldn’t know Matt Groening was the creator. Nor would it even make sense for him to be, therefore go through the process of creating the Simpsons, therefore making him unfamous until making Futurama.
There's a Treehouse of Horror segment where Lisa does a science project with a tooth in some Dr Pepper or Coca Cola type drink and after Bart shocks her from a Balloon attached to his head, it starts to develop as a town and at one point she's like "looking like I'm seeing into the future" and the scenery looked very similar to that of New New York from Futurama
I think in modern The Simpsons episodes Bender is still supposed to be living in there basement and mostly unconscious until the future. I wondered if it was a nice link between the two shows in case Futurama gets cancelled again, to keep the characters alive.
Out of curiosity, I decided to do some math for the first two clips in the video to determine when those episodes aired before Futurama's first premiere. For reference, Futurama aired on March 28th, 1999. The first clip shows Snake Jailbird holding a comb, featuring David Cohen's credit as Executive Producer with the gag "Watch Futurama." This comes from Season 10, Episode 4's Treehouse of Horror IX (9), which aired on October 29th, 1998, four months and thirty days before the series came out. Right after that, we have Üter Zörker (The German Boy) wearing a Futurama Shirt at a convention in Season 10, Episode 9's Mayored to the Mob, airing on December 20th, 1998, 3 months and 8 days before the show's release date. And just for fun, I also calculated the time between the two episodes, which is 1 month and 22 days apart.
the first clip with the comb is from the episode of treehouse of horror called hell tupe which came out in 1998 futurama came out in 99 s so odd it was saying watch that show when it wasn't even out yet guess it was suppose to come out in 98
The same goes for Üter Zörker (The German Boy) wearing the Futurama Shirt. Which was featured in the episode "Mayored to the Mob" (Season 10, Episode 9) and aired on December 20th, 1998.
What in the name of Kwanza Bot is Seymour doing in Springfield? They literally moved a dead body for fan service. Either that, or it's Springfield, New York.

I like how canonically, for 1000 years before he meets Fry, Bender's just living in Homer's basement. It's like The Simpsons is a set up for Futurama itself
I love that even the Simpsons can't decide how to pronounce Graining's pronunciation (its clearly spelled groaning idk who the hell came up with such a stupid-)
