Very well put together video. Making it easy on us so thank you. Shocked this doesn’t have more views yet. 👍
Thanks for watching it’s slowly going up in views.
Time to remove my deck. After hunting for my Manual, trying to read the tiny print on the newsprint paper stock. I thought of UA-cam. You were the first vid to pop up. You did an excellent job explaining what looked to be very complicated job in the manual, several pages of that small print. lol Very well presented.
Glad I could help you, thanks for watching
Excellent video! My husband did all maintenance and mechanics and he passed away and I am left to the task now, and your video shows me step by step. Thank you soooo much!!
Glad I could help, thanks for watching. If you were my neighbor I would do it for you
I just found your page and these lessons are the most in depth and easy to understand I have ever seen. Great job!
Glad to hear it! Thanks for watching
Thanks for this video. I purchased a zero turn with a steering wheel. I need to get the deck off to clean it. This was great! I hope I'm strong enough to get mine off! I have an air gun for the blades. Don't worry, I won't strip them off! I've done that before. I hand tighten them. Only use the air gun to loosen the bolts to take them off. Not bad for a 73 year old wimpy woman? It might take me two days to do it all, but that's okay! Thanks a bunch!
Glad my video can help. I would help you more if you were my neighbor. Thanks for watching
Great video! 2 things I learned... 1. inserting the multi-tool into the lift mechanism for safety 2. turning the front wheels around to give you more room for sliding the deck in and out Can't believe I never thought about doing that! 😂
Glad I could help, thanks for watching
@@DIYJIM Do you happen to have a link for that blade balance checker?
@@f16fixr1 yes it’s in the description or first comment
@@f16fixr1 yes in the description of this video
Great video! Clear video with great verbal instruction. It helped me a ton. The only difference is that I have a ZT1 and the torque for the blades are 70-90. Again, thank you.
Welcome thanks for watching
I have completely avoided taking my deck off because I figured it'd be way more difficult than my old Craftsman 46" tractor. This actually seems to be way easier! Great video, well explained steps, and very detailed. Thank you for posting this.
Thanks for watching
Same here!! I was considering buying an expensive lift so I could get the blades off without a floor jack and a crazy assortment of boards 😂 Taking off the deck is easier than I thought it would be; my dad has the same mower and I shared this with him also. Thanks for making this!
Exceptionally well assembled How To video. Points out some aspects others do not show, like the Multi-Tool's use. I rever replace the two covers as they are grass traps and if you cut a BIG lawn (2 acres) they can be pully damagers. Thanks,
Thanks for watching
Awesome how-to video, thanks for doing it. I just got my Ultima ZT1 42 in. delivered today. I won't need to worry about the deck removal and blade sharpening for a little while, but I'm way more confident now.
Enjoy your new mower, thanks for watching
Enjoyed your video, concise and to the point showing what I needed to change blades and belt.
Thanks for watching
I also wanted to say, thanks for showing how you got the belt back on everything. That made so much sense.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks Chief, great video. The manual is rather ambiguous but this takes you step-by step. Great job 👍👍
Glad it was helpful!
Sir, you are to the point, non-sugar coated. GREAT video, VERY informative, going downstairs and gonna apply on my ZT1 50! Have a great day DIY JIM, Sir.
Thanks for watching
I watched this three hours after pulling deck off
Very well explained
Thank You for sharing information 😊
Thanks for watching Phillip
Great video. Well put together and cover the details well and your commentary as you walk through the job kept me paying attention! Thank you!
Thanks for watching
Just picked one of these up to work on nearly 4 acres. Thanks for breaking the subject down into easy steps. After all my work I'm sure it's gonna be a mess under there!
thanks for watching
Great instructional video. Watching your video is much better than following the instructions in the user manual.
Glad it helped
Great video that helped me out a lot. I had to change my belt along the way
Glad I could help thanks for watching
Outstanding, direct to the point with everything explained perfectly!
thanks for watching
Nice job explaining the deck removal process

More to come!
W0W .... AWESOME ... JUST GOT THIS MACHINE and DON'T KNOW JACK ABOUT MAINTENANCE FOR IT... ONE BELT GOT BURNED, I RAN OVER MY DOG LEACH AND IT DID IT... HOPEFULLY FOLLOWING THESE DIRECTIONS I WIL BE ABLE TO FIX IT ! IMAGINE THAT AND I THOUGHT I HAD TO TAKE IT SOMEWHERE TO GET IT FIX... ONE PROBLEM DON'T EVEN HAVE A TRUCK OR TRAILER TO TAKE IT AND NO ONE AROUND MANY MILES TO SERVICE... SEEMS LIKE A LIFE SAVER, WILL LET YOU KNOW OF THE OUTCOME !!!! ONE THOUSAND THANKS JIM ~~~~~!!!!
I hope it helps you save some money. Thanks for watching
Best video on Cub Cadet Z Ultmas zero turns!
Thank you
On my old Raleigh, which was way harder to align than this, I found lifting the deck and sitting it on a piece of 4" by 1" timber on each side made it way easier to align the pins. My ZTS1 46" arrives tomorrow so hopefully it will be a while before I need to sharpen blades, but thanks for the how-to video
welcome thanks for watching
Thanks, excellent no BS video with the facts and correct operation of each action in order.
Welcome, thanks for nice comment and for subscribing if you did. Have a great day
Great video Jim! You covered things that I never had a question on! Thanks!
Glad to hear it!
This is the best video on how to do this I have seen.... good job man
Thanks and thanks for watching
Thank you. Saved me some headache!
Your welcome thanks for watching
Great video. If you are considering topics for future videos, get the Cub Cadet checklist for riding mower Maintenance schedule and go through each of the items on the checklist. I suspect you could make a short video for each of the checklist items and one longer one that is a compilation of all the checklist items.
Maybe I will one day. Thanks for watching
Very informative! Helped me with installing new blades. Great sound and video that really aided in the instructions.
Glad it helped
Excellent video. All the links in the description are also helpful. Thanks. Great job!
Glad it was helpful!
that was the best video ever. i have watched many and your filming is the best. now if you could show me how to put a drive belt back on! i went over a big bump and the spring popped off, and i cannot figure out how to access those pulleys. so much in the way. thank you for this video. i'm sure i need to sharpen blades next.
Sorry I don’t have a video on that. Hope you get it figured out.
Very well done!
Thanks
Great job. Liked the detail and the varied camera angles.
Thanks
Awesome ! Thank you for taking the time and putting this video together 👍 God Bless
Thank you very much
very cool...I'm very close to buying a ZTS 50 (I'm in a steep/hill area)...and will need to learn this stuff. I see you have other videos. Hopefully this zt "S" mower isn't too much more complicated
Thanks for watching
Very well-presented. Easy enough. Thx!
Thanks for watching
Very well explained. Gracias señor.

Very helpful. Thank you!

Thanks great video just got my new Cub today and only crashed it once learning to steer it. No harm done thankfully.
Thanks for watching
I just bought one of these. And I can't believe they have not perfected how to remove the lower deck after 20 years.
I hear ya, thanks for watching
Awesome video, very easy to understand!
Glad it was helpful!
Nice job! Right to work on the project. I didn't have to hear about your dog (toto) or any other BS.... Really good job easy to understand and good detail on every step. I don't understand why you don't have like at least 100K views. Thank You and again really good job!
Thanks 👍

Thank you very much.
I have a ZTS1 42” Fabricated deck. Thank you for this video. After reading the directions in the manual I was thoroughly confused. Your video made it so much easier. Thank you!!!!

Good job Mate.

Welcome
Could you do a video about changing the transmission drive belt? or at least the anatomy of the undercarriage? Thank you
sorry I do not have the mower
Thank you for replying!
#DIYJIM EXCELLENT video!💯👍
Thank you! 👍
Thanks
Welcome
nice video
Thanks bud
Excellent video, how do I determine the type of deck that I have?
Do this after each cut. When my final day arrives I’ll have spent 12 years of life doing this. Time well spent..
Thanks for watching
To balance with a screw, put a piece of something round that will fit inside the hub (washer, pipe, etc) over the screw.
Guess that might work thanks for the tip. Thanks for watching
You make it look simple….and….you apparently have some experience with it….thanks
Thanks for watching
Thanks for the VERY helpful Video... What part of Jersey are you from?
Not from jersey, from central Pa. Thanks for watching
What about blade orientation in relation to each other?
Does not matter guess you could put them close to the same position. Thanks again Paul
Blades are slightly offset so they won’t hit each other in any rotational position. Center blade spindle is forward of the two outer spindles so that cutting paths overlap without blades touching each other.
@@DIYJIM Thank you Jim.
Great video. How do rate the cut quality of this mower? Vibration issues?
Overall impression? Thx!
Sorry it is my neighbors but I'm am going to guess good because she is very picky when it comes to taking care of her lawn. Sorry I can not tell you 100%
This may be a dumb question, but does it matter how the blades align with each other (not referring to grass side)
No doesn’t matter thanks for watching
Never taken a deck of yet to balance and sharpen.only to do pulleys/spindles/waste time corncob
thanks for watching
Thank You for the Video. But Don't You Need to Set The Blade Timing? For The Best Cutting.
No need , thanks for watching
The bolt on idler pulley should be a reverse thread so that shouldn't loosen up using a socket and ratchet
Thanks for watching
Question...just put new blades on my zt1 50. Fab deck. I followed your instruction to the T. When I engage the new blades I have some unusual vibration (kindof a wobble vibration) I double checked the seating of the blades ... it's still doing the same. Any ideas??
Btw... they were cub blades. Ultra high lift. Which is what came on it.
Not sure maybe one of the blades was not balanced just because they are new does not always mean they are balanced. Was the star exactly matched up before you tightened? Hope you get it figured out.
@@DLUV24 what was it?
@@robertswift6101 my guess is an unbalanced blade or blades. Everything was matched up and tightened correctly. I don't have a balancer.
What angle do you sharpen the blades at?
I just try to sharpen at the same angle that is already on the blade.
DIY JIM: At time 13:40, you mention that the blades for fabricated decks should be re-attached at 80-100 foot-pounds for a stamped deck, and 100-120 foot pounds for a fabricated deck. You mention that you found those values in your manual.
I have a ZT2 with a 60-inch fabricated deck, and my manual says to re-attach the blades at 70-90 foot-pounds. That's a lot less than your recommendation. Do you have an idea as to why there's a discrepancy between the info you found, and the info in my manual?
I would listen to what your manual says. I’m going to have to do some more research. I can remove that part of my video if it is wrong. Thanks for letting me know. Thanks for watching
i just use a pair of ramps,,,easier than taking the deck off
Agree, I also do that
Yo my man what happen to ur hair bro, yea me too, me too. Damn shame. Thanks for sharing.
Life kids maybe I'm getting OLD LOL
Couldn’t you just pull pins and slide belt off the back pulley instead of taking cover off?
You can try maybe
@red07JK thank you so much for this suggestion. I could not get my idler pulley to budge at all. Took the pins out and the belt slides right off the PTO pulley. Saved me lots of frustration.
1:00 the torch setting is tight as ehf foot pounds
Thanks for watching
My mower got stuck and died at the back of my 2.5 acre property in the edge of the wood line. It sucked! Dont know how I did it but wedged between two trees and I couldn't get it back to my garage. After, I watched this video, I removed the deck, it fit snuggly between the trees and I got it out! Big thanks!
Glad I could help thanks for watching
Thank you !
You're welcome!
Still have your John Deere?
